How To Convince My Mom To Let Me Borrow The Car

How can I convince my parents to let me borrow the car for a day?

So basically I owe my best friend my life. It's a long story, but she came at one AM to pick me up from a party that, in retrospect, was very unsafe and if she hadn't done this there's a slight chance I wouldn't be here right now.

Anyways, her boyfriend moved to college a few weeks ago and she hasn't seen him in person since. He's only about two hours away, but their schedules haven't given them any time to see each other, plus she doesn't have a car anymore to go see him. She hasn't really been herself lately because of this, she's been much more subdued. I came up with the idea of taking her up to see him on one of the days she has off of work, like a little day trip for us and it would be great for her.

My parents are a little reluctant to let me use the car for a day, though, and this is the only problem. My dad has a car that he uses for work, and my mom has a car that I drive pretty regularly, including to my college that is about forty five minutes away, and this is the one I'm asking if I can borrow for the day.

Already, I'm the one in my family that runs all the errands, including picking my younger brother and sister up from school, getting groceries, picking up mail, etc, while my mom stays around the house most of the time. My family really wouldn't need the car for a day, so it's not like I'm leaving them stranded at home/school.
But when I asked my mom if I could use the car to drive it two hours north, then come back at the end of the day, she just said "We'll see." I was involved in a car accident almost three years ago, but since then I have never even been pulled over and I'm a really good driver. Plus, I'd have my best friend in the car with me, whom my mom already loves for the "saved my life" thing.
I haven't really plead my case yet, just suggested to my mom the possibility of me taking the car to go on a trip for a day and she didn't seem that excited. What can I say to convince her??

How do I convince my mom to let me drive stick for a first car?

I'm 17 and I'm searching for cars. In mind I have a 2003 Honda civic I want. I'd rather go with a stick because It would save more gas than the automatic. But when I tell my mom that I want to drive stick my mom says no, but she lets my older sister drive stick. And she gives me a reason that she'll have a better piece of mind and also so that he can borrow my car when she wants to (she's afraid of driving stick.) My Questions are what reasons can i give my mom to convince her to let me drive stick? Other than "a real man drives stick", what are the benefits of driving stick?

How do i convince my parents to let me borrow their car and let me stay out later saturday night?

im a 17 yr old guy and i got a date this saturday at 8. we plan to go to a movie and dinner. anyway i hardly go out (almost never) so im hoping my parents will let me go and stay out late (about 12-1). if not how can i convince them? i am a very good kid and my parents have alot of trust in me. i never do anything wrong. also i dont have my driving license but my dad does let me drive. (i drive him around everywhere) the place were going to is only 20 min away. so im hoping he will let me. any tips or advice?

How can I convince my Dad to let me drive?

Stop thinking about it in terms of "fair".  Your question is "how do I convince Dad?"  For that, do the opposite of everything you say in the description.  "Dad, I need your help.  I know my brother is a better driver than me, but I need more practice to improve.  Can you help me drive more so that I become better?"Humble "I need help, I know I'm bad" will get a much much better response than "but Dad, it's not fair!!!".  He'll take the complaint as immature and not help.  But a request for help and an acknowledgement that you don't get enough practice, and thus drive more poorly would help him help you.If he says no, then ask him to help place you in a driving school for more instruction.  He'll see the cost and start letting you drive more.

I'm borrowing my uncles car for about 5 months. How do i need to go about Insurance. ?

I'm turning 16 in February and i currently live in georgia but i'm moving to missouri in June or July next year. I'm going to need a car from the time i get my license to when i move and my uncle might let me borrow his if i have a good convincing story. I will be working by then so i will pay insurance but i need to know what the best thing to do in this situation is. I mean do we temporarily cancel his insurance on it and add the vehicle to my moms insurance or what. please help me because i'm confused about what i should do and don't want to ask him because i want to show him how much i'm interested in borrowing his car.
thanks

My dad is angry at me for letting my mom borrow my car. How do I fix this?

The only way I could justify his anger would be to assume he is paying your car insurance (or at the very least, you’re on his insurance plan). In which case, your dad is basically liable for anything your mom does in your 1993 Volvo. If she wrecks it, drives drunk, runs over a school child, or robs a bank in your car, it all falls back on your dad and his insurance.Assuming it is fully YOUR car and you insure it, fuel it, and do everything independent of your dad, his only justification would be a personal grudge.Bottom line, if you are on your dad’s plan. He’s entrusting you not to financially ruin him by getting your ass in trouble. He’s also entrusting that you are the only person who will drive the car that HE is insuring. That means if your friend drives it and gets in a wreck, your dad is liable. If your great uncle drive it and gets in a wreck, your dad’s liable. If your mom drives it and gets in a wreck, your dad is liable.

Let someone borrow my car and they wont give it back. How do I get it back?

Call the law. You will have it back the same day. Tell them you let the person(s) use it, and now they will not bring it back. Have your title and registration with you.

By the way, honey - don't let them borrow it again!
