How to convince my mom to let me cut my hair short?
I REALLY want short hair. So bad! I think its awesome when girls have short hair! But my mom won't let me. She says girls with short hair are lesbians... I used to have short hair until I was like 11 because I was a tomboy. But then I grew my hair our gradually because my mom kinda forced me to, she said she didn't want me looking like a boy anymore. But now that I wear girls clothes, shouldn't I be allowed to cut my hair short? I don't want a bob cut again but I just want something easy to take care of! I HATE long hair! How would I go about convincing her? I would really feel a lot better with a boy's haircut, but she doesn't know I'm a boy, it's not an option to tell her, and she says no. Also, my friend offered to do it for me behind her back... I'd be totally screwed, but do you think it would be worth it?

Now first of all, I do not want a bunch of people saying 'she's the mother it's her choice' because that gets really annoying and doesn't help at all, geez... Well I'm twelve and I have really long hair that goes down to my waist. It is extremely thick and dry........I always straighten it to get out the waviness (it isn't wavy in the good way, it is too poofy and ratty) because people always give me a bunch of crap about my hair. I know it needs to be cut again, but my mom always gets my hair too short when she takes me to get it cut (like, longer than shoulder length but still way shorter than I want it) and she won't let me get it cut in layers like I want. One of my friends who got her hair really layered said it made her hair a lot easier because it wasn't as thick, and her hair was layer to match the style she wore it and it was a lot easier to straighten. Another of my friends has real thin naturally straight hair and got it layered and it looks real good with her too, but my mom thinks that since when she was a kid, someone apparently gave her a bad haircut that was supposed to be layered, and she says that was the end of having long hair for her. She's absolutely convinced she is right but if we went to the right place, I know I could get a layered hair cut right, because I have never heard of anyone else warning against this. Any suggestions here? My hair really annoys me, and I also kind of like the layered style, I don't see any reasonable reason I can't get it cut. P.S, if I do persuade her to let me get it like this, I can ask my friends for a good place to go, but if I say 'layers' will they ask me how I want it layered or just work with how my hair is? Or Whatever?
