How To Deal With Stress From School

How do you deal with stress in high school and at home?

I am currently on my last stages of high schooling here in Australia (I graduate in December) and I currently have 3 assignments and 2 tests to do between now, at the time I’m writing this, and next Friday (in fact, I should be doing my assignments instead of browsing Quora now lol).Once schoolwork became more and more hectic, I wanted more of a sense of security that I will get XYZ completed before it is due. Therefore, I adapted this thing that many high school students don’t know about: planning.General John Monash said, “The main thing is always to have a plan; if it is not the best plan, it is at least better than no plan at all.” Everything in our world relies on planning. From construction to travelling, lessons to events, everything is reliant on a person’s ability to plan. The photograph above is my personal study plan.Your plan can be as basic as mine, or complex, but let me tell you that it does, in fact, work. Now, coping with stress.Plans also help greatly with coping with such stress as it gives you security. Don’t pile yourself with assessment. Give your brain breaks. Eat, run, play games. Study when you’re studying; work when you’re working, and rest when you’re resting. Thinking of work doesn’t make your rest time worthwhile as you are still at a state of stress when you should be resting. Also give yourself an adequate rest time. Don’t pile schoolwork until you’re tired (unless its urgent). Rest so that your brain can become efficient at times you need to work.I hope this helped you :D

Teens: How do you deal with high school stress?

A lot can go wrong in life, and the Bible certainly doesn't tell us to close our eyes to its dangers. The Bible says, "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it" (Proverbs 22:3).

But the Bible also warns us against becoming "worry warts", or being filled with worry and anxiety over everything that might go wrong. I suspect that if you made a list of all the things you worried about in the last year, almost none of them actually happened. And yet your worries robbed you of joy, and probably made your family miserable as well!

Instead, the Bible tells us to trust God for the future. You see, when we allow worries to overwhelm us, we're actually saying to ourselves that God must not love us, and He must not be watching over us. But this isn't true! God loves you far more than you can ever imagine—and the proof is that He was willing to send His Son into the world to die for your sins. He loves you so much that He wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

The Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). I challenge you to put these words into action—for when you do, God's peace will begin to overcome your worries.

First day school stress! How to deal?

Happens to everyone, It might be a little bit scary, but it's just because you aren't in the routine yet. You'll adjust

How to deal with stress?

I am a very stressed out guy, regardless of if something is coming or not. So here are some tricks I use and that work for me, they may not all work for you.

First one, which is one of my favorites: is to take a shower; Now I'm talking of a very hot shower on the limit of bearable, you simply sit down and let the water fall on you and empty your mind just enjoy the sensation.

Second: Drinkign tea; May sound a bit lame but if you find a tea you like drinking a cup of it will relax you, firstly because drinking tea requires you to remain calm not to spill it or burn yourself with it, secondly because the taste and aroma themselvs are relaxing (in the most cases)

third: Meditation; now maybe you know how to meditate maybe not, a simple way to meditate to relax is to simply get in a comfortable position and breath slowly in and out, focussing only on your breathing. Begin by making cycles of 3 seconds, breath in for 3 seconds, pause 3 secs, breath out 3 secs pause 3 secs and repeat. Once it becomes easy add one second and so on, the more seconds the more relaxed you are.

An alternative is "candle gazing" sit down in a dark room and ligh a candle, then just stare into the flame and relaxe, breath in the same rythm as the flame. Eventualy you will be so relaxed that when you get up it'll be as if you had obtained inner peace. Very effective

fourth: now this is a weird one, Sigh; let out a sigh but not a frustrated or stressed out sigh. Try to sigh out all of your worries and the burden that are on your shoulders and heart. Visualise them leaving you if you want.

Fifth: snacking; now don't do that one too often or you may gain weight. Eating forces you to be calm otherwise you can choke. if you eat quickly then eat something you can't eat quick or learn to eat slowly

There are many more and all are temporary. If you want me to help you further feel free to add me on yahoo msg zavv_lon@yahoo.com I'll be happy to help you and guide you through them.

Some may sound lame but if you do them they do indeed work, I performed all of them and they all had an effect on me. Good luck with your exams

How to deal with school/homework stress?

Education is important but seriously not more important than your health or your mental well-being. At 13 you should be enjoying being a kid, being young does not last forever and you have got the whole of your adult life to spend stressing and worrying about stuff. What you need to do is prioritise in this order :
1. Sleep ( min 8-10 hours day - your body and mind needs it, your growing and you need that sleep time for your body to repair, recover and to recharge your batteries, if you getting less than 8 hours a night at 13 then you will always feel like crap the next day. )
2. Diet - you need to put good food, vitamins and minerals into your body and not eat junk food ( if you do ) eating healthy food will help you feel less stressed and at your best.
3. Fun - you need lots of fun at 13, take some time out from study each day to have some fun.
4. Study.

One final piece of advice on education and that is that spending 17 hours a day is unproductive, it does not work that way, you can be a slave to education but it wont make you a A+ student, you will achieve and progress a lot more if you studied a little less, and took some time out to actually enjoy and live your life.

Don't let other people and family pressure you into doing what they want you to do, it's your life and you only get one crack at it so live to the max and chill out an enjoy yourself before you have a seizure or something :-)

Good luck, take it easy and look after yourself.

How can I deal with school stress and all this work I have to complete?

Being a student myself, I try to answer this everyday. There’s no right or wrong strategy, and nothing that works for one person is guaranteed to work for another. But here’s what I use:Organize - It can be as simple as an excel sheet with all your assignments and due dates, where you check off every single one of the assignments for completion. Don’t stop until you finish everything.Reward/Value - We are more likely to finish off that one homework assignment if we knew that it is going to count as 10% of the final grade, and not finishing on time would make it impossible to get an A. We may have to work super hard on final if homework grades are low or vice-versa. So within the same excel sheet, mark the percentage points you will lose if you don’t complete it.Seek Help - If you can’t understand something completely, go to the teacher/professor and ASK. There has never been a time when I asked my professor about a topic and they didn’t take the effort to make sure I got it right. Instead of getting stuck on something and never finishing things, go and ask for help, come back home, finish, or repeat until you finish. Don’t be afraid to go back again and again.Eat well / Personal care - If you aren’t healthy, or “pumped” about yuour life, you won’t perform as well as you potentially could. Find out and fix problems in your life, make sure you eat and sleep well, and have some good friends and family to talk to. Never be afraid of anything and stay happy! :)

What should I do about back to school stress?

Get more sleep. Eat smart & healthy. Get some sun every day that you can, just a few minutes makes a difference. Walk more, ride less, unless you ride a bicycle.See if you can drop a class, take it later or next year or in summer.See a school counselor if there is one, tell that person how you feel and what it’s doing to you. You may need to see a doctor. This can help you a great deal, so do it if someone you trust says it’s a practical idea.

School is too stressful for me. I can't deal with the stress of grades and assessments, and my social anxiety has just worsened over the years. I don't know if it's worth it anymore. What should I do?

So sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed!! We live in a culture that seems to enjoy being BUSY BUSY BUSY. Have you shared with anyone how you are feeling? Sometimes just sharing with an adult or someone like a school guidance counselor or teacher that can really help. Sometimes…they can come alongside you and help with the stress and give you the proper tools on how to deal with it. I hope you can reach out to someone about your anxiety! I just wanted to remind you to keep what is TRUE and what is a LIE sorted out in your head. What I mean by that is sometimes we can be our own worst enemies with the dialogue that goes on in our heads. I am someone that used to always be saying “I’m not good at…” or “I’ll NEVER be able to…” or “I can’t”. Well..those were not true. I was good at a lot of things and I was able to do a lot of things I tried and I had people in my life that reminded me of that! The words in my head were given way to much power. I haven’t met you yet…but anyone in school is amazing in my mind…because you are dealing with A LOT and have a TON of expectations on you!I’m praying you will reach out to someone you can share with. Maybe you are a creative person and maybe listening to some music our journaling can help with the anxiety as well!Sometimes taking a break and just taking a deep breath can help. I LOVE to take my mind of myself and turn to some “good stuff” and sometimes hearing peoples testimonies or accomplishments really helps just lift my spirits! So many people have dealt with so many different struggles and I love to hear their stories. Check out this site!!
