How To Divide Addresses Geographically

Locations: What is the geographical centre of india?

Where is the exact geographical center of India? There are several theories going around on the same. Some say Sagar in MP, jabalpur and mahakaleshwar, Ujjain are too in the fray and most of the people believe it to be the Zero Mile marker in Nagpur, Maharashtra (none of which are true)The zero mile marker was actually setup by the Britishers as the center point of undivided India by measuring scientifically. But when the country split in 1947 and then the Bangladesh, there was a need to redraw the topography of India and the new center point found by the surveyors in 1987 was in the middle of some obscure village called Karaundi near Sihora in Madhya Pradesh. This place was inside some forest and the nearest location that could be marked was a village where this land belonged to some farmer. The government came into action and quickly bought the piece of land from the farmer and gave back exactly the same amount of land elsewhere. Reason: The land being the exact geographical center of independent modern India!Until today, the village and a cement replica of Ashoka's four headed lion stands inside the middle of a forest with a benchmark bearing in bold that this place is the center of Bharat or India. There are no settlements, no shops and nothing except for large stretches of barren land. On asking about how many people come here daily, the watchman says you're the first I've seen in these 15 days last! While in MP do pay this place a visit. From Jabalpur, head over to Sihora and then Karaundi. This is quite a remote place, so advised to leave by evening. There is a Maharishi Mahesh yogi vedic vishwavidhyalaya nearby where students are taught Vedas. A perfect blissful backdrop is of the vegetation nearby.Where is the exact geographical center... - Gaurav SiddharthWhy is Nagpur called the zero mile centre?  - Times of IndiaBetul, Madhya PradeshSihora

Why IP address is divided into 4 parts?

The first octet (in this case 192) denotes the network address. There are only 255 possible entries in this field. WAY back when the internet first got started, that space got divided up among a bunch of large corporations mostly, AT&T, IBM, etc. So that field can tell you who owns that IP space. In the case of 192, that's actually reserved space. That space is reserved for private addressing. You use that space with your home router, most people are using a 192.168 address at home, you can also use 172.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x depending on the situation. The next octet would generally denote your ISP, the 3rd would denote the "subnet" portion or the subnetwork that your ISP has assigned you to, usually that's based upon your geographical location, like they'll have everyone in the x.x.68.x address space live on maple street and x.x.69.x live on pine street, etc. The last octet is assigned to you via your DSL or cable modem. You give your ISP the MAC address from the back of the modem and they assign it to an address with a specific number at the end, you don't share this number with anyone else, or it causes conflicts. That's why we need private addresses at home, your router takes that private address and routes the traffic out through your public address, then takes incoming traffic and sends it to the appropriate device in the house via the private address. It's actually a lot more complicated than this, I tried to make it as easy to understand as possible. Think of it this way: State.City.Street.House# that's the easiest way to think of it.

How is Canada divided?

Canada is geographically divided into provinces and territories, which in some cases are further divided into regions. As this map illustrates, Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories. The provinces are:OntarioQuébecNew BrunswickNova ScotiaBritish ColumbiaPrince Edward IslandNewfoundland and LabradorManitobaAlbertaSaskatchewanBritish ColumbiaThe territories are:YukonNorthwest TerritoriesNunavutThe population is primarily in Ontario, Québec and British Columbia, consisting of about 13.4 million, 8.1 million, and 4.6 million people respectively. The population of Québec is largely French speaking, as the province was founded by French immigrants. The country is further divided into 338 electoral districts (constituencies) as of the 2015 election, which represent seats in Canada's federal Parliament. These “ridings” are divided based on population. As seen by the image below, the populations of the territories are significantly lower than the provinces. This is due to the cold and harsh nature of these regions.

The five themes of geography.?

Location - pinpoints the place. Its called absolute location, and sometimes relative location. Relative location is a description of a place.

Place - Defines the location. Example: St. Louis has the Arch. New York is the Big Apple. Florida is the Sunshine State with lots of citrus groves.

Human Environment Interaction - Examines how man has altered the environment, both good and bad. Example: Constructing bridges.

Movement - Migratory patterns over time. Example: Irish-Americans and their settlement patterns in the U.S. over time.

Region - 3 types: Formal regions (Atlanta, Georgia) are names you see on a map. Functional regions (Silicon Valley) have interdependence for survival. Vernacular regions (Dixie) are regions associated with folklore, imagination or memories.

On Law and Order UK, what does "NI" mean after the addresses?

It would be "N1", not "NI",, and would stand for North-1.

Long before American Zip codes, or English Post codes, in 1856 the British Post office divided London up into geographical zones, named EC, WC, N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, and NW (East Central, West Central, North, North-East, East, South, South-West, West and North-West.) As London continued to grown each of those zones was further divided - North-1, North-2, etc.

In today's English postcode system, the first two or three digits of a post code in London are still the old postal zone letters. The US Embassy, for example, is at 24 Grosvenor Square, London, W1A 1AE. The "W1A" part says it's in the West-1 zone.
