How To Do Marc Jacobs Edit

Who is your favorite fashion designer, fashion accesory, fashion icon, fashion ANYTHING?!?!?

I love talking about fashion. I have a very deep passion for fashion. What bugs me is when I talk to girls who want to go into fashion, and they don't know ANYTHING! When I ask them about fashion designers they come up with Versace, Dolce & Gabana, Chanel, Armani, Louis Vuitton, just all the designers that they have hear from EVERYBODY ELSE.. There are other designers out there.. For instance.. My favorite designers are..
1. Balenciaga
2. Anna Sui
3. Heatherette (not their showroom clothes though)
4. Phillip Lim
5. Betsy Johnson
6. Marc Jacobs
7. Cavilli
8. DKNY
9. Burberry
10. Furstenburg
In no particular order.
My fashion icons are..
1. Sienna Miller
2. Gwen Stephani

Who could succeed Galliano? Are there any designers who have anywhere near his level of talent and taste for the boundary-pushing?

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest.  Part of it comes down to how Dior wants to project themselves and continue their legacy, and part of it comes down who is actually available.  Most of the designers who could/would be options might be eliminated might not want to leave their own, "eponymous" labels (Marc Jacobs, Zack Posen, the Mullavey sisters).  When I think "Dior", I think of hyper-feminine designs, and reinterpretations of what it means to look like a woman.  Galliano often went to extremes and created exceptionally dramatic, "neon"-woman styles, just *so* over the top sometimes.  Frankly, I thought a lot of it was overkill, like he aimed for McQueen, which would make him like Westwood, but less....British.  For that, Posen would be a good fit, or even Alber Elbaz.  Jacobs is too American, a little too quirky and conventional.  Then again, that might be what's expected of him heading an American label.  As the head of Dior, he might have more license/agency to branch out a bit.I almost hate myself for saying it, but someone like Christian Siriano would have a lot of potential.  He's just too green, and Dior would never, EVER hire a reality tv alum.  But he's actually really close.  Unconventional and dramatic, but with an appreciation of the female form.Edit:  Epiphany:  What about JPG?  Well versed in designing for femininity, a little left of center, fearless, and, not that it matters, but it helps, French.
