How To Eliminate Junk Mail

What are the numbers and addresses to eliminate junk mail?

You cannot eliminate junk mail!If the company sending you spam are well respected a phone call or email will probably stop their junk - but don't call somebody you don't trust or you have just confirmed your email address and they will probably send you more!

What is the best way to get rid of junk mail?

I googled how to get off mailing lists and copied and pasted here below . Google national do not mail list and fill out the form . See if it helps. There maybe other suggestions in the google search also. The key to stopping unwanted advertising mail being delivered to your home is getting your name off the mailing lists.Of course, that's a lot easier said than done. There are, literally, thousands of commercial lists out there. We can use our vast direct marketing expertise to get your name off of those lists. As direct marketers ourselves, we know that mail-order companies don't want to waste their money sending mail to people who don't want to receive it.They'll gladly take your name off their lists when they're asked to do so. But with countless mail-order companies doing business today, you just can't contact enough of them on your own to make a difference. The postage alone would cost a fortune! To register on the National Do Not Mail List, start by filling out the form below then click 'Submit' to choose your mail preferences:

Is there a way to tell USPS to stop delivering junk mail?

No, the USPS does not screen mail and weed out junk mail. The USPS delivers all mail addressed to you. You can go to catalogchoice.com if you would like to cut back on the catalogs you get. It's a free service where you decide what catalogs are junk. They will contact the catalog and notify them that they have 90 days to stop mailing to you. It works pretty good for me.

How to get rid of obscene junk mail?

1: The Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) is supposed to help you eliminate spam mails. Forward spam to: spam@uce.gov, in the subject line enter something like "unsubscribe link results in more spam", "unwanted spam message", "no unsubscribe link" or something similar.

Here's how to do the forwarding bit: click the crtl key and at the same time click the "forward" button to forward a message as an attachment, mac users should click the "apple" key and click "forward" simultaneously.

When the FTC gets your mail, they will look into the matter and when they find out who the spamming source is, they will take legal actions.

2: Check Mailwasher, it helps to eliminate spam from your inbox...

Set up your email account(s) in MailWasher and hit the "Check Mail" button. It then downloads all new message headers and displays message details alongside each one (priority, subject, from, to, etc.). Any email that MailWasher considers to be spam is highlighted for easy sorting.

Two checkboxes are located next to each message header: "Delete" and "Bounce". If you click "Delete" the email will be marked for deletion, click "Bounce" and the mail will be marked for bouncing - a fake "address not found" email will be sent to the sender. Once you have decided what to bounce and delete, click "Process Mail" to get it done and your mail client launched for downloading all accepted emails.

MailWasher has a "blacklist" and a "friends list" to enter good and bad email addresses. Addresses in the blacklist are marked for deletion, and addresses in the friends list will be marked as okay. Filters can be set to increase MailWasher's effectiveness. You can have email addressed to "undisclosed recipients" automatically deleted and bounced for example.

Note: the program is free but limited to one email account. MW Pro supports multiple mail accounts.

What's a good way to get rid of my junk mail without putting it in the landfill?

If the junk mail is the kind that comes with a return envelope, I mail it back to the sender. I put in a note, remove me from your lists, folded up everything including the inbound envelope and mailed it back. No stamp, just drop it in a mailbox. If it has no return envelope, I tape it up and cross off my name and mark it return to sender. If its a flyer, I now have recycling so that's where it goes.Up until about five years ago, I did not have local recycling and I paid for my garbage tags. During that time, I got good at leaving/returning the garbage to the companies that created it in the first place.

How do I stop getting junk mail or ads in the mailbox?

You don't,unless you get a post office box,and even then advertising will make it through. When you stop buying anything,or use services then it will stop. Of course you could move to a communist country where you have no control over what you buy. Just accept it, recycle it,and find something else to complain about, like who lost the last presidential election,or what to do when the world ends in twelve years.

What’s the best way to safely throw out junk mail and unwanted old documents?

True junk mail shouldn't have any personal information other than your name and address. Throw it in with your paper recycling. As for old documents that may have compromising information, shred them. You can buy a perfectly serviceable diamond cut shredder for under $100. Follow directions on use and maintenance, and it should last a decade or more. If you want to be absolutely certain the documents are destroyed, either burn the shred and stir the adhes,, or soak it in a bucket of water and moosh up the soggy remnants. If you don't want to buy a shredder, check with your credit union or bank; they may run free shred days. I also believe one of the office supply chains has had annual shred days, perhaps for a small fee. Some people may work in offices that have secure document disposal. The business might not object to you putting a dozen sheets in their locked bins once a month or so.

How do I block junk emails send from yahoo.com?

Recently, I have received a bunch of junk mails sending from different domains. The contents of the emails are similar every time...regarding some sex pill or something.

Below is the list of junk emails I received (and blocked):

discountPharma3@googlemail.com
miss.goold12s@yahoo.com
kiter@yahoo.com
kiterswae@yahoo.com
nosterser@yahoo.com
nosterserses@yahoo.com
noreply@message.myspace.com
saledis@yahoo.com
saledis1sre@yahoo.com
noreply@usearchlocal.com
...and a lot more

Every time I receive the junk mail, I add to the email filter. But the next day, they will change another email. I cannot possibly block yahoo.com because i do receive some regular mail from yahoo mail. So, how can I stop this?

By the way, I use outlook and Squirrel Mail. I don't see those junk mail from outlook. I only see them when I log in to Squirrel Mail.

What happens to my junk mail when I write "return to sender" on it and put it in the mail?

One of two things. (1) It is trashed. (2) If it is undeliverable, many legit mailers want to know that so they can get the name off the list. (Direct mail costs 50¢ or more per piece, the largest cost being postage). “Nixies” are unprofitable all around. Wasted mailing costs. And a black eye when a mailer rents a list to another mailer and it is full of nixies. A mailer who wants to know about undelivered mail will print on the envelope: Return Postage Guaranteed. dennyhatch@yahoo.com Denny Hatch's Marketing Blog
