I am a guy and I have been watching one tree hill since it started and have never hidden the fact that I watch it. There definitely are aspects that are targeted at guys like hot girls and basketball, it was even originally going to be called Ravens to focus more on the basketball team but Mark Schwann had to change it because they thought it would mean not enough girls would watch it. People have always told me that it's for girls but just this year I got lots of my friends to watch it and now they are all obsessed with it. I also got them to watch programmes like Gossip Girl and 90210 which are considered for girls and they all loved them. So trust me, I know a lot of guys who watch One Tree Hill.

Well, first things first, the show is geared towards adults 18–49, so do you fit into that category? If not, you are not the target audience.It is up to you to decide what you want your children to watch. If the child is younger than 13/14, they might not get all of the jokes. However, kiddos in this age bracket may prefer Disney/Carton Network/Nickelodeon etc to Family Guy, depending on their tastes. There’s almost always a lesson to be gleaned from episodes of Family Guy, if you search hard enough. How unfunny is The Simpsons or Family Guy for Japanese people?
Not very for most people I know. Just like Japanese comedians are not in the least funny for me. The only Japanese cartoon/show I ever found funny was Crayon Shinchan.Japanese sense of humor is so different than The Simpsons and Family Guy (admittedly I have hardly ever watched Family Guy, but I know what it is like), plus at least the Simpsons is too full of cultural references that even fluent English speaking Japanese will miss. I can not stand more than two minutes of a Japanese comedy show.Comedy shows are reserved for “me” time at my house. My wife will never watch them with me. Ally McBeal, Sex In The City, that type of show we used to watch together. Now if we watch something together it is a Japanese Drama, which I also find entertaining.I am anxious to see how my daughter’s sense of humor evolves, as she likes to watch both Japanese and American cartoons.
