How to fall asleep QUICKLY with high caffeine in your system?

Hiya,

I'm a caffeine junkie, and I've had this problem before, where I've just had too much caffeine too late, and I can't sleep.

There isn't ant quick way of falling asleep, but this is the only way I have found, and for me it REALLY works. I've made myself fall fast asleep at 9pm, after getting up at 12pm and having caffeine throughout the day (I had screwed up my body clock, not sleeping til 3-4am and not getting up tile 1-2 pm, and I had to fix it!). Anyway, this is what works amazingly well for me (it also works extra well after half an hour of yoga, but it works fine without that too!)

Lie in your bed totally flat, without even a pillow.
Put your arms by your sides, with the palms facing up.
Then, really concentrate on your feet. I use a phrase to repeat as I breathe in and out, which helps me concentrate, and as I breathe in, imagine that phrase filling up your feet, and as you breathe out, imagine your feet relaxing into that phrase. I know it sounds weird and horribly hippie-like, but trust me, it REALLY works.
Breathe in and out deeply and slowly 4 times whilst concentrating on your feet.
Then, move up to your ankles, concentrate on them, imagine them filling with your breathe and then sinking into the bed as you breathe out. Do it 4 times for your ankles.
Then do the same for your shins, knees, thighs, hips, lower back, middle back, stomach, rib cage, upper back, upper arms, lower arms, hands, fingers, shoulders, neck, and by the time you get to your head, you'll be asleep.
If you AREN'T asleep, you will be very nearly asleep, and what I do is try to imagine I am floating, and try to spin myself around vertically (in my head, ahaha) and imagine the world tipping back under me, and how that would look.

I know it sounds weird, but I am by no means a stupid hippie, ahahah, so please trust me! I think it's the combination of relaxing your body and keeping your mind fully occupied on thoughts that aren't distracting enough to keep you awake.

I suffer massively from muscle spasms (probably the caffeine, ahah) when I try to sleep, which keep me awake, and from worrying about problems, or just thinking about things, and this keeps me awake, but using this method, I always fall asleep!

Best of luck!

Dani

How to fall asleep quickly with caffeine in your system?

Here's what I always do, and it always works. Lay in your bed, get into a comfortable position, and lay there VERY still with your eyes closed. It always works for me. The thing is though, you have to stay very very still, clear your mind, and keep your eyes shut.
