Getting a Green Card through marriage of parents?
I was wondering if anyone knows about the process of getting a green card through the marriage of a parent with an American. My mother is in a relationship with a US citizen and both plan on having a wedding in 2008. I'm currently going to college in the US and pay out-state tution. My counselor told me that if my mother becomes a legal resident or citizen through marriage, so would I, and that I should then apply for instate-tution since I've been on the college for more than 2 years already. Does anyone know the process or a website where I can look that up? How long would it take for her to get those papers and after she did, how long would it take me as her son to become a legal resident/citizen? (I'm currently on a F-1 International Student Visa). Thank you all for responding... just a little more details... I am 16 and I'm working full time, going to school full time, and living on my own and paying all expenses. I know what it's like to be without family and friends. I think I will be able to hang in there while he's in Iraq, because I've had lots of experience, and I have undying love for him. I'm going to continue to go to school and work while he is away, but because I am so intelligent, I will be graduating high school next fall and going on to OSU after.
