Can you lose weight by eating one meal a day?

Eating one meal a day is a lifestyle change of getting into Intermittent Fasting (IF). People follow different schedules of IF, which not necessarily mean one meal a day. The most common schedules are 16/8, 20/4 and 24/0. In 16/8, eat all your meals within an 8 hour window and fast for 16 hours. Most people eat (rather drink) zero carb during the 16 hours fasting window in the form of one or two bullet proof coffee or club soda with salt or green tea. In 20/4 schedule, all meals are eaten within a 4 hour window. 24/0 schedule is the one you have asked as one meal at every 24 hours.It takes some time to get used to the schedule one follows. Once used to the schedule, it is easy to follow as body is adapted to ketones (fat) as energy source rather than glycogen (sugar) as energy source. While in ketogenic state, the IF person does not feel hungry except at the scheduled time. Generally it is difficult to eat the entire day’s calorie requirement in a single meal of the day. So people end up eating below their BMR requirements in 24/0 schedule, which leads to weight loss or slower metabolism. But it is possible to meet BMR calorie needs in 16/8 and 20/4 schedules.

Does soaking in a hot bath help you lose water weight?

Yes. In many sports, such as wrestling, the athletes need to cut weight quickly. Water weight is one way of doing it very quickly. The body sweats, losing water weight whenever an uncomfortable temperature is reached. The skin can absorb moisture as well to rehydrate. This rehydration does not take place under hot water as the body is purging extra moisture to disapate heat and will not re-absorb significant amounts of water. I used to alternate between hot tub and pool when I was working on body recomposition while training for soccer. It worked quite well. Keep in mind that cold exposure following water weight loss will trigger the body into absorbing water through the skin again. Don't take a cold shower or bath after a hot soak if your goal is to cut water weight. Another benefit of extreme heat exposure is increased stamina. The blood vessels are forced to expand to help regulate body temperature, and in response over time, the body will increase total blood volume in the body. This adds a little bit of weight, but increases the capacity of the body to carry oxygen and nutrients as more blood is available to do so. I've heard reports of increases in stamina of up to 30% simply from heat exposure training. I did no real physical training for soccer, but still had some of the best stamina on the team. Short answer, test you can cut water weight through hot baths, as long as you're still sweating and don't allow yourself to be drenched in cool water. Drinking water will rehydrate you as well. Is an elliptical machine a good way to loose weight?

I am about 70lbs overweight and just bought an elliptical machine. It reallly wears you out! I was on it for like 10 minutes and it felt like my heart was jumping out of my chest. I know that's a natural reaction becuase I have no health problems (I'm 24).

How should I use it? I heard for 20 minutes 2 times a day, 20 minutes after you eat because it raises your metabolism.

What are you suggestions so that I get this weight off?

I have gained 5 pounds in the past 6 months. I went from 127 lbs to 132 lbs (my height is 5'6"). I seemed to have also gone up one clothing size. I feel bloated and awful all the time. Do you think other people notice a 5 lb weight gain?

OK...so I'm 13 years old 5'3" and my weight ranges from 187-205 Lbs. I want to lose weight becoming a vegetarian i guess is how i sumarize it. I want to eat like only vegetables ,fruits, and beans for protein. I need to lose about 60-70 lbs in about 7-10 mnths. I want to lose it rather slowly so i hopefully won't gain it all back. I know being a healthy weight will help with my depression n low self esteem. I have a rather poor family so I can't eat fancy stuff or pay for pills or weight-loss programs. PLEASE HELP ME!!! =] thank you so much!!!
