What about the people you worked with while you were dealing with your disability? Anyone who saw how hard you worked to be able to go back to work would be a good reference. Also, past employers, even ones you haven’t worked for in 10+ years can still provide a positive reference.Not sure what type of work you do, so this might not be appropriate advice, but have you considered working through a temporary staffing agency to find your first job? They will be more interested in what you can do than your references. Once you have completed a few assignments you will have current references.Good luck,

Yes, you do need to start somewhere. Many servers and hosts I know have come into this by accident, not on purpose: try for something else and get stuck into the dining room. Few have set out to be waitresses or hostesses for a longer period.And therein lies the issue. Not only are most people not cut out for the job, it's a transitional job to boot. That means having to train someone to be a waitress and then either losing them to the demands of the job or as soon as something better paying opens up is a risk few restaurateurs want to take. Instead they hope to get trained personnel from other jobs and just "milk" their expertise until the day they move on or break down.Your best bet is to start in a smaller outfit or a chain. Both have much less qualms hiring untrained personnel, chains actually prefer it because their HACCP plans are rigorous and deviations by old hats who are used to do something a certain way are unwanted.Yes, I know, it's not as profitable or fun to work for a Brinker's outfit or wait tables at the Ponderosa but you'll get the basics down and start to make a few connections that will allow you to trade up in due time.Spend some time walking around your town and just walk into every place that has a sign out looking for servers. concentrate on what you are good at. for an example, If you are good with kids look for a day care position, they are Always hiring. This maybe just a job to get some extra cash, not to make career out of. Or since your area of study is psychology, Go to offices and ask if they are in need of any help with phones and filing, since you are in the program you know things in psychology. This may even get your foot in the door for a potential office position.
How can I get a hospital job without experience?
I just got my cna license and I would like to go into the healthcare field one day,but im afraid the hospital wont hire me until I get experience so im working at a nursing home for awhile. I really like it but working at a clinic has always been my dream... Everyone seems to get a hospital or a clinic job and they barely have any experience. One person who worked at Mcdonalds she got a job at the hospital...any advice?
Any advice for an inexperienced 20 year old looking for first job?
I'm 20 years old and have never been employed. I've applied to many places online like target but no responses back. I have no prior experience. I have no one to reference since I don't go to church and haven't been in contact with my high school teachers. I wasn't close to any of my high school teachers in the first place and the one person I would considered asking has retired and moved away. I tried volunteering at a hospital (since I'm trying to be a RN) but didn't get close to anyone since there were different people each week. Do you have any advice for me? Do you know of any jobs that hire people like me? Or any organizations I can volunteer at?
What is the best way to use fake job references without getting caught?
I have been accused of using a fake reference when it was actually a real reference. The previous employer had just been bought out about 3 years previously….. So yeah often times with something like that picking a mid or low level position at a company that has closed or merged/been bought out will often work. If you have a couple of friends who will answer the phone moderately well and liewrite their names down about being a former coworker / boss at said place. Just have them say they know you…. In their opinion your great and they don't really know/disclose the nature/details of your relationship.Thing is that you can really mix about 1 of these in for each 5 years of employment history.

Hello !Getting a job as a fresher in Mechanical Engineering with no experience or reference is a real tough thing one can face after their engineering. You make yourself you have a good resume which tells about you that you are strong in Mechanical field. First and foremost list out the mechanical companies in and around your village or town or city. Take some 20–30 printout of your resume. Take your resume and go and knock the doors of each and every company. You may or may not get a dream job. But for sure you’ll get something. Do not expect a very good job at the very first instance. If so, you won’t have a peace of mind when you go to the one you got selected. Else, take rest for a month or two and start preparing for exams like GATE, ESE, RRB etc,.
