How To Get The Green Which Was Once Teal Out Of My Hair

What colors can I dye my hair to get rid of green?

What product can you use to colour your hair and remove the green. We will need a few details before giving you any advice because we're talking chemicals here. What product did you use to make your hair green? Did you use a hair COLOUR that said “ash” in the title? Or, did you use one of those high pigment fashion colours to intentionally have green hair? You can bleach your hair and remove all the pigmentation but you will have to fill it to make it brown. Filler includes adding the level's you have removed from yellow to orange to red to brown. You could use a red hair colour but I don't know what you have on your hair already so I don't recommend that you do anything until we know what we're working with. I'm a lisenced stylist so I can't give you advice without knowing all of your details. It's not responsible for anyone to do so.You may be best to go get it professionally done to correct the colour issue. You will get the best results that way. Make sure you tell them the name of any product you have used on your hair. When you last coloured it. Was it a different colour and faded out to the green results you have. A qualified colour tech will ask you the information required to help you out. Good luck with it. If you want to answer some of the questions I've asked you, please do. I will do my best to advise you to get the colour you desire. :-)

Will teal hair color turn green?

Hi, It will probably change colors with repeated washings. But, you can go to the beauty supply and get a rinse the same color as the teal you put in your hair and put that on the strip after you wash it then, leave it in. Or, if you want to get rid of the strip, go to your local beauty supply and ask the employee what color you should use to blend the strip into your own natural color. Again, the color will fade but, you can also do the same thing and get the rinse to camaflouge it until it grows out. Good luck!! JOSA

Blonde hair, green hair... oh no! help please?

my hair was an icy platinum blonde (fake)
i put purple and pink in the bottom layers
after it started fading, i decided i would just bleach it out, and go back to how it was
(i've done this before with zero problems, but THIS time i accidentally used a 'cool' toned product)
so the bits that were purple turned a bright turquoise, and as i left the product in longer... a weird grey
so... being the master of mixing colors (i've had SO many hair trials and errors) i took a golden, warm toned dark blonde, and tried to correct those little greyish green tints.

the bottom of my hair looks pretty normal, no one notices the green but me (it's so so slight, i razored some of it out, and it just looks like an "ash" tone)

BUT, i still wanna go back to ALL icey blonde.
yeah yeah, i'm going to wait, and let my hair 'rest'
i have a medicated hair for damaged hair soaking and everything. my main concern is the green.
if i use regular bleach (NO toner) will it turn that bright tacky orange color? (that's what i want, that's my starting point) or will it make the green bits stand out more?

don't tell me to see a professional, my hair is NOT ruined. i've bleached my hair so many times in the past, (cut it since then, so this is 'new' hair) it's surprisingly strong, it's never fallen out, it's never broken. sure, i could use a trim, but i'm trying to grow my hair out since the last time i cut it.

just so there's no confusion...

how to i get that green undertone back to icy white blonde?

Hair Coloring: I dyed my hair blonde but my ends are green and mid shaft is dark orange and roots are light? How can I fix this? (I wanted light caramel)

First, I have a question: are you using box color? Have you used box color in the past? The two major causes for color results such as yours are:-The reaction to underlying pigments previously added to your hair (from dye)or-A reaction to medication that may have been in your system when you previously dyed your hair.I've seen this happen before in salons and it sounds like what you're dealing with is not that uncommon.Generally if you've got green ends, it means you've used black or dark brown color before. Black hair dye often has green underlying pigments, which cancel out orange/brassy tones. If you used box color, the dyes are harsher and harder to cover-up, unless you "strip-out" the old color. If your mid-shaft is orange, same story. The color you may have dyed your hair with had copper/golden tones but was not at the same color level as the blonde you have added, therefore your midshaft is not going to match your roots, when your roots are the "virgin hair" (hair that has not been chemically treated before.) Try to think of it this way: imagine you're coloring with colored pencil. First you used a black pencil, which as we know is the hardest color to cover-up. Then you went over the black with an orange or brown pencil. The black may be less apparent, but it's still there, just masked by heavy coloring. Last, you go over the orange/brown and black, with a yellow pencil. It's not going to look yellow, right? You have all that dark pigment underneath and you simply cannot color over it. You'd have to erase all the previous colors in order to see the "true yellow."That's the same thing with hair. The best solution for you is color correction, in a salon by a hairdresser. The process often involves going into your hair and attempting to tone out the underlying pigments you don't want. For your ends, they'll add orange or red, since they cancel out cool colors like green. For the orange mid-shaft, they may add purple, as purple cancels out orange. Once your hair is more or less an even tone, then they'll add the caramel. It's not the quickest or cheapest process, but unless you're okay with going to a darker color that can cover the orange and green pigments, color correction is your best bet.The chart below will explain what I mean by color "levels" and "underlying pigment." Anytime you consider coloring your hair in the future, refer to this before making your decision, it will save you lots of time and money.

What hair color will cover teal hair?

Depending on the condition and color of your hair , the teal dye used ( semi-permanent, etc), you be able to cover it with darker, such as a deep brown, or an alternative although you MUST be experienced in doing so, is to use a 15 developer and bleach ONLY the teal out and and completely dye over your hair. This entails NUMEROUS processing as you want to be as gentle as possible and only doing a process no more than ONCE per week , in addition a hair masque applied and left on overnight before and after processing is ideal.

How will burgundy over green hair look?

Hi Brydgett,Thanks for the photo. You are not alone in the mayhem. The dip dye revolution is making many go crazy once the colors wear off, underlying pigment shows up and the tasks of balancing old color with new color is in our face.I too remember coloring my hair with "kool-aid" tropical punch. I lighten my hair to a orange gold. Dipped my hair in the "kool-aid" mixture and voila'! Bold, fun color. Until the color rinsed off and I was left with pinky-orange-red-gold hair. Oh my. I can still see my face. You have to think about balancing all colors separately. Think about primary and secondary colors. You want to look at what color you are seeing in your hair to correct (in your case green is the strongest color seen) and the color across from it (red) will be the closest color to neutral the unwanted tones. That formula would be a color mixed neutralizing to brownish.Burgundy will neutralize but remember it will too fade if it is semi-permanent, demi-permanent or temporary color formulas. So you may need to apply color (s) a few times to neutralize for longer than 10 shampoos.Your Image Styling Advocate,SHEVA.NYC

My hair was purple and I died it with a blonde dye but it turned a teal/green color. What should I do?

You have to remember the color wheel when working with hair color. If you mix purple with yellow what do you get? Purple has a lot of blue in it so it’s logical you get green. So you need to look at the opposite on the color wheel. You need to add orange. In hair color that means a warm (red) based brown or darker blonde.

My blue hair dye turned turquoise/green how can I fix it?

When you bleached your hair did you tone out the yellow before you deposited the blue? I ask because what happens when you mix yellow and blue. You get green.Depends on how faded it is. You could start over and tone out all the yellow of you could do the blue again. Get a really good sulphate free shampoo and invest in dry shampoo. My daughter washes her hair about once a week then uses dry shampoo in between. This keeps the color longerYou can also add a small amount of dye to some conditioner and use that regularly. It will deposit a small amount of color back in to help prevent fadeYou will also want to avoid hot tools like flat irons and curling iron. The heat from these make your hair fade
