How To Go Back To College Tomorrow With Suspected Torn Ligament In Knee

Left dislocated knee, when will this heal up and how do i shower?

i think this was a minor dislocation but i dislocated my knee while turning around too fast while my feet were in the bed rails so i basically messed up.

but when the Medical doctor from the hospital popped it back in place it felt a little sore but i was relived, or Releeved idk how you spell it. he gave me a big brace splint type of thing. and crutches.

now it's been 2 nights since this accident occur'd.

should i take off this brace to shower?

i am seeing my doctor tomorrow, so if she doesn't do anything to me that day were going to a othapedic whenever after that.

But how do i shower?

my mom has this chair that goes in the shower for handicapped people, my grandma is handicapped
so i'm borrowing that since she is in a like a convelesint home and she won't be using the one at my house. so i was gonna put a towel on there and tape a plastic garbedge bag on my brace and shower while sitting and i'll leave my leg like relaxed..

is that a good idea?

so basically,

-Gonna go to a doctor most likely tomorrow, gonna see if she'll allow me too take the brace off or the crutches or anything really.

-gonna take a sitting on a chair shower while garbedge bag taped on the brace. good idea?

-and i haven't had any pain in my knee since i rode in the ambulance, so is this a minor injury?

-I'm stressing and not resting enough, how do i stress less?, i'm praying alot i'm trying to build more of a reletionship with god so i'm trying while i have this injury.

i think thats it if more i'll edit this.

Broken leg/ankle/foot/knee stories???

The first time I broke my leg was when I was 13 - we had this epic tree in our back yard at the time and decided one weekend that it'd be cool to build a small treehouse or something up there... We did it and it was amazing and whatever... Until it fell out of the tree and landed on me... Somehow my only two injuries were a cut on my shoulder and a horribly broken foot... I remember standing there for about a minute just wondering what the hell had just happened. I was so shocked that I couldn't feel anything... Then this really intense pain flooded through my body... I was down and screaming pretty quickly - I'd broken my arm twice before but for some reason this was worse... Anyway, my parents took me to the ER and they stitched my shoulder up and got my leg in a cast (one of the big heavy soft casts) and onto crutches. I went back a week later and they decided it would heal itself and put me in a fibreglass short leg cast (it was blue) and kept me on the crutches for another 4 weeks... Then I went into a walking boot and weight bearing for another 6 weeks before I was deemed fixed...

Second time is pretty awful... I was driving up to the local supermarket for some milk and this drunken idiot swerved out into me from a side street. I've got a decent car so I was fine, just a bit dazed and got out to go see what the other guy was like... So I got out of the car and started walking over to the other car and the drunken idiot that the guy who crashed into me was drag racing with hit me as he came round the corner... I blacked out and next thing I knew I woke up 3 days later in hospital after 2 lots of surgery on my right leg and a massive cast... The pain was pretty much non existent - I'd been out of it for the worst part and it all got better after I left hospital... I had 2 rods and a small metal plate stuck in my leg and got a long leg cast for 9 weeks and was using crutches for a further 3 weeks...

Hope this helps with your homework or whatever... Good luck!! :)

Help Me! I'm gonna run the mile tomorrow in school! What should I do?

I know it's long. But please read this and help me:

I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. First of all, I dont' wanna skip school tomorrow cause my gym teacher might think i skip school cause i don't wanna run the mile. Second of all, I'm bad at running the mile. I'm the slowest in the whole class. Everybody in my class has a record of 6-8 minutes in one whole mile! and me? i only had 15 minutes~! and that's not good! plus, my gym teacher look kinda dissappointed. but i'm so sorry, it's just that i'm so bad at running. is there any other way to help me to improve my record of running the mile? are there any other tips? i found a few tips on wikihow.com but still i'm not sure if that's gonna help me! help me! i'm so so so so so so hella scared and tomorrow is the day to run the mile (in the morning right after recess!) what should I do? help me please!. thank you very much!

In gym we HAVE to run the mile tomorrow..?

Wow, I can WALK a mile in under 15 minutes, how is it your best running time is a 11 minute mile? You need to start getting back into shape, for your health, not your PE grade. Seriously. I was huffing and puffing the whole way, but in high school PE I could still run a 6 minute mile, and I smoked a pack a day. Now, I can run a 4 minute mile short distance, and a 6 minute kill long distance (like when I'm running 5 miles). You need to start dragging yourself out of bed an hour early, throw on workout clothes and start running around the neighborhood. And run in the evening too. Start small, around the block. Move up the next week, a half mile. A mile the next, 2 miles the next ect.... You will get your body into shape eventually. You want motivation? Tape a picture of a disgusting fat person up on your mirror, and realize, if you keep up with no exercise you will look like that someday. Young metabolism doesn't last forever, start training your body now before it gets too late.

15 year old experiencing pain in the knees?

I am a typical teenage boy. I probably don't exercise as much as I should, but I am not unfit or overweight. Why is it, then, that often after exercise or just running up the stairs I often experience pain in my knees?

I have stopped doing the squats I was doing because with every rep I do both of my knees click loudly, and they will hurt afterwards. This is worrying me because it is making it difficult for me to exercise at all.

Is it simply that I am not getting outside and exercising enough, or could there be other reasons? At school and at home I am often sitting at my desk for hours at a time. Could my knees be in a bent position for too long? I will provide in 'Additional information' whatever questions people have about my lifestyle. Well, reasonable questions :P

As I said, I have a healthy diet and am not overweight. However, I could definitely make a more conscious effort to do some daily exercise which I will start tomorrow.

Thanks in advance :)

It depends on where exactly you are feeling the pain as to how to treat it.Firstly you should go to a professional physiotherapist or doctor to get a scan to properly diagnose what it is.I am not a physiotherapist and can’t give advice but can tell you how I have fixed my own lower back issues through physiotherapy and a lot self treatment. Also, is the pain radiating down one of your legs? Or up into your lower back area?If it is down one of the legs, it is possible you have some compression in one of the the lower lumbar discs. To help alleviate this, you can decompress it by putting your lower back in traction - easiest way I could do this was to let my legs hang while in a dip station (see pic):It’s the best pic I could find. You don’t need to raise the legs or work your abs, just breathe, relax and let them hang for 20–30 seconds at a time. This will take a lot of pressure off the spine. You can also lay on the ground and have a friend lift and pull your legs or think of your own variation. If the pain is radiating upwards, it is likely an issue with your gluteus minimus or gluteus medius. To help this, you need to stretch and massage it to release it. See pics:If you google or type ‘glute stretch and massage’ into youtube you will find a wealth of info on how to do it and will explain better than I could :)That is just a start. You still should go to have it professionally diagnosed but these exercises will help alleviate the pain.I hope this helps.

Hi Ayush,Let me tell you something.Initially for me it was just1) shaping up my body.2)Be strong enough to defend myself.3)Just a person with enough strength if someone bullies me i can atleast show my teeth to him. ( I used to get bullied a lot and was ashamed of it). Imagine person of same age, same class, same locality picking up on you and you just lying there as a helpless pig. Why??!!!!!!Answer was not that obvious. I give all this credit to my late father. He just explained same thing "when he is beating you why are you taking it. Instead use both hands legs gifted to you by god. He refused to come with me to guy who bullied me. He told me “I WOULDN'T BE THERE FOR YOU AT EACH PHASE OF YOUR LIFE SON".TRUST ME!!!! THAT HIT ME HARD ON FACE...!Second thing for me was this might sound funny.I liked uhhhh i loved a girl like “true one".Ok she said “NO, why should i even think. Look at yourself dude... Please".OMG SECOND SLAP... YEAH.So what am i trying to explain is there was “ FIRE" burning for me. No motivation needed just feeling “GO GET BACK YOUR EGO".Just wanna show “I AIN'T JUST ANYBODY".But the slaps on face were for reason. Let me explain showing images.Above pic is old me. Weak, broken …i think i don't need even to say that. Pic is self explanatory. Now let me again explain using pic “THE CHANGE".I think pictures pretty much explain everything.I just had that FIRE BURNING INSIDE ME.I WENT EACH DAY. I WAS CONSISTENT. NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT PAINS. I USED TO SHOW UP. I JUST WANTED TO PROVE MYSELF “U ARE DIFFERENT “.After sometime it just became habit. It felt good. It was only thing you get to see the results yourself.Your posture.Your interactions.Your walking.Your attitude. “All changes “.Trust me it feels good when you walk with your chest streched, chin up …..it’s pretty much like a person radiating confidence. And nicest thing here is people try to copy you.“ITS ALL WORTH IT".This keeps me going. Every single day. Grind, screech your teeth, push yourself all “wows"me.FROM HABIT TO ADDICTION IT WAS LONG JOURNEY BUT ALL IS WORTH IT.I ain't stopping ,i gonna continue to grow...ThanksYeah it was long answer. HeheheHope i was helpful.

Do I need crutches for a sprained ankle?

R stands for Rest – common sense, really, but a runner in the middle of a race or training session may not heed the symptoms of a less severe injury and just carry on. There may be some excuse, as exercise-induced endorphins can reduce the brain’s ability to interpret symptoms of injury, though the more experienced you are as a runner, the more intuitive you should be in interpreting these. Continuing to run will force more blood to the site of the injury and maintain bleeding – more severe damage is the inevitable result. If you have no option but to carry on, try to cool the area with water and slow right down – walking is ideal.

I stands for Ice – the application of which should be carefully controlled. Simply putting ice on the site of an injury is going to produce blistering and ice burn, so it should be wrapped in polythene, crushed and further wrapped in a damp tea towel. Time is an important factor. Fifteen minutes should be the upper limit for a single application, but this can be repeated hourly.

You can use ice in other ways during rehabilitation. Firstly, you should reapply it if you feel twinges as you gently stretch out the injury on the subsequent days, and it can also be used as a massage medium which can ease apart scarred, healing tissues while the cooling effect continues to provide capilliary contraction and prevent further bleeding. Ice is the most valuable, yet least used and understood, method of healing sports injuries.

C is for Compression, or at least counter-pressure to the bleeding capilliaries. The greater the pressure applied, the lower the amount of blood that can pass to the rest of the limb. We all apply tissues to an external cut – a bandage or Tubi-grip will have the same effect internally. However, this pressure should be less than your blood pressure – there is little point in stopping the bleeding but cutting off the blood supply to the extremity of a limb. Gangrene can still occur, so you should alternate compression with ice. If the limb goes numb, the bandaging should be released.

E reminds us to Elevate the limb. Blood pressure reduces with height – it is lower in our brain than our toes – so the higher the limb is above the heart, the less force there is within the damaged blood vessel to cause bleeding and worsen the injury. While it may not always be practical to elevate the limb, any time doing so is

This question has been answered appropriately already. I’m going to repeat the same with some modification because of A2A.It is definitely a knee injury which is most likely to the ligaments. The important function of pain is to restrict the activity which causes further damage to your knee. I have some suggestions for you.1)First of all get checked by an orthopaedic surgeon for a correct diagnosis.2)Refrain from playing or any physical activity that causes much stress to your knee.3)If there is no pain at rest you should perform knee strengthening exerciseKnee Strengthening Exercises: Beat knee pain fast4)You can consult a physiotherapist for IFT which allows healing faster.5)Should reduce your weight if you are over weight6)In case if you are more than 50 years old there is a high possibility this could be osteoarthritis which means you should not play badminton.
