How To Keep Zipper Up With Hook And Eye Closure

How to keep zipper up with hook and eye closure?

Have a pair of casual dress pants with hook and eye closure but as of late the zipper has embarrassed me. It's obvious that I can just go to any tailor shop to have it fix but am trying to be frugal with whatever home techniques possible. It's one of my favorite pants that I wear to work so would like to keep it as long as possible, everywhere else on the pants is fine just not the zipper.

What can I do to keep my dress from unzipping?

I got this really cute dress, and it stays zipped as long as i don't move a lot. But thats not going to happen. Do you know what i could do alterations-wise to get it to stay?

Which industry looks like a free market but is actually a Monopoly?

First of all, monopoly is a market term, not an industry term. If a market looks like a free market, it almost certainly is.What do you mean by monopoly? There is only one seller in the market, with 100% market share?Or the sole seller is able to control market volume by pricing in the inelastic range, where profits are abnormally high and can be increased by raising prices (because demand is inelastic – volume drops less than price goes up)? Such a monopolist has monopoly market power and is able to achieve abnormally high profits without attracting competitors. The latter is very rare and, except in the short term (a few years at most) almost non-existent unless protected by government that outlaws competitors. And competition is defined by customers, not suppliers. For example, steel competes with iron, brass, aluminum, plastics, wood, and concrete in many different markets. Steel is a product component, not a market. Steel-making is an industry (actually several industries), not a market. If the steel is priced above competitive levels, customers switch to products made of competitive materials and the steel monopolist loses sales and profits shrink. Even if there is only one steel manufacturer, steel markets remain free markets. Unless government gets involved.I doubt Luxottica owns 90% of the sunglass brands, let alone supplies 90% of sunglasses. The Luxottica web site says it offers 27 different brands. Sun Glass Hut sells 9 brands in addition to Luxottica brands. Solitice sells 25 non-Luxottica brands. Amazon sells over 30 ( I got tired of counting) starting at $5 a pair.YKK may be the world’s only zipper manufacturer, but zippers are products, not a market. The market is fabric closures. Other products in the market include buttons, hook-and-loop (Velcro), laces, hook-and-eye, snaps, and other products. If YKK does not maintain competitive prices, customers will switch to other products.A seller can maintain 100% market share only if 1) it is protected by government or 2) it prices in the elastic range, as if there were many active competitors, and keeps profit margins from becoming abnormally high. Potential new entrants are virtual competitors the keep markets competitive, even if there is only one seller.

Is it bad to sleep with a waist trainer on?

The short answer: It's a very bad idea.Waist trainers constrict your middle area which might be different when standing up versus laying down while sleeping. In addition to wanting to be awake and aware of the changes when using the waist trainer in case you feel uncomfortable. It's something that you need to find out from your doctor on what to do exactly.I do know someone who tried to sleep with it on and she told me she got severe acid reflex in a matter of a few days. Apparently the waist trainer was pushing her stomach in a way that moved stomach acid back into her throat and esophagus. This is why you should consult medical advice before using a waist trainer. For folks who aren't entirely sure what a waist trainer is, please see pic. In Hollywood, people wear them all the time and it's obvious to see them being worn under clothing, even on a typical day grabbing a drink at Starbucks.

What did people use for fastening before the Zipper was invented?

Buttons.  Lots of them.  And they used buttonhooks to do them up.... from the mid-Victorian era until just after the First World War, no home  was without a selection of buttonhooks and most people - men and women -  carried one with them. The reason was simple: with a pair of ladies' or men's boots having more  than 50 buttons apiece, the little hooked gadget was essential if the  boot wearer was to keep his or her sanity. And it wasn't just boots. Jackets, waistcoats, gloves, spats, even  corsets were held together with buttons, lines of the things, all of  them small, fiddly and almost impossible to fasten with one's fingers. As a gadget, it was simplicity itself. Basically a steel prong of  varying length with a little hook on one end and a handle on the other,  the buttonhook did just that.[1]  The Buttonhook Society  http://www.thebuttonhooksociety....EDIT:A lady's dress normally had buttons down the back because she would have a servant to help her do them up.Even now, when people don't have ladies maids, a dress with the zipper down the back is considered a "more formal" or "nicer" garment.

How do I stop my clothes from getting holes from the washing machine?

Most of the apparels made by DIRECT KNITTING or by use of cutting and stitching KNITTED Fabrics, will create HOLES whether they are soft, thick or thin even when they are multiple knits. You can say that is their DNA, and you have really NO SOLUTION ,TO AVOID .But like accidents you have to search the possibility to reduce such holes by not giving it favorable conditions,Do not put undue pressure which will drag, pull or twist the threads and pull out the LOOPS ,which is the cause of the holes appearing even with out seeing any broken thread unlike a woven fabric! In woven cloth one or more of the threads running as WEFT/WARP gets broken by force or deterioration due to harsh treatment/Chemicals or by insertion of anything sharp But a knitted cloth always have Holes but not visible to naked eye due to density of the threads on one direction and ONE single thread which just encircles Making up and down waves! (almost like Crochet). So wash them separately (by putting only knitted fabrics), Run slow light wash, and use non rough detergents along with softeners!Very costly knitted apparels, I would suggest to wash by hand and spread dry,not by hanging on lines or using hangers as they be get elongated, shrunk or deformed. For costly ones DRY CLEANING is an option of costing works out!

Will a man respect a woman who gives him a blowjob on the first date?

This happens more often than you would think. The first time it happened to me I had been set up with a woman on a blind date by a friend. I met her in a coffee shop and we got coffee and got to know each other, then went for dinner. She was surprisingly attractive. After dinner we got into my car and I kissed her once to see her reaction - she liked it, so I kissed her more. After a few minutes, my hand went up her blouse and she liked it. While I was kissing her I felt her hand on my zipper, so I helped her. In a few minutes she was really going at it. At about that time the streets started to get crowded with people and so I reluctantly stopped her and drove her to her car, which was in a parking garage. She looked up at me in the semi-dark and said, “I have to finish what I started” and she took my zipper down again and went at it. When I came she took it all. When she finished, she looked up at me and said, “Thank you for a nice evening,” and batted her eyes, “Will I see you again?” I said yes. After that followed a series of dates where she blew me in public and semi-public places on a regular basis. Apparently, that was her thing, what she liked. I liked it too. It never occurred to me to “disrespect” her.In my experience, even with Craigslist “Strictly Platonic”, many women are good to go on the first date. I am not sure why this is and mostly it includes blow jobs.

Why are we still using shoestrings when velcro fasteners are more quick to use?

It's funny you should ask as I spent a large portion of just last night delving into sneaker culture and parkour pants, wondering almost this exact thing.Question that contains assumptions: more quick in what way?I haven't owned Velcro since I was nine; all my shoes have since either been lace or strap closure, and I've been slipping them on faster than most people can undo and then redo that strap. You might be able to say it's branding: outside of shoes that were made to draw attention to themselves, Velcro seems to have been branded "non serious," "childish," or "ugly" despite its closure ability surpassing all but the most prodigious of knots. How familiar are you with Betty Crocker (sidenote: my high school girlfriend used to call me Big Talker Betty Crocker, thnks fr the mmrs)? You know when she first started selling instant cake mix, the product didn't sell particularly well, people weren't really enthused by it, until the directions were changed to include having the buyer add a full, superfluous raw egg to the recipe. This boosted sales and brand loyalty by giving the air of actual baking and alchemy to the process of making an instant cake, and the rest, as they say, is history. My theory is that laces on shoes are the same way; all the serious, adult adults learn to tie their laces and anything Velcro is branded improper, childish, or cheap. As a result, all the serious adults tie serious knots to show that they take their shoes and their appearance seriously. Over, and under, and loop the...loop...
