How To Kept Focused Yourself On Study Hours At Home By Avoiding Surrounding Activity

How do I avoid distractions while studying (for IIT JEE)?

Hi,Thats a good question.Let me draw your attention to a small analogy here.Imagine there is an empty jar.2. There are few pebbles and sand which need to be filled up into the jar.3. Lets try to fill both these pebbles & sand into the jar; in the order of sand first followed by pebbles. You will notice that, you have many pebbles coming outside the jar & are not able to fit into the jar. How much ever pressure we exert on the pebbles/ or jar; the pebbles don’t get in but remain outside the jar4. Now Let's re attempt to fill the jar but in the order of pebbles first & sand later.Put the pebbles first in the jar & then pour the sand into the jar; you will notice that both pebbles & the sand could be accommodated. The sand fills in all the possible empty places in the jar.You must be wondering what your question regarding IIT has to do with the jar, pebbles & sand and hold on for few seconds you shall get your answer.Imagine the glass jar is all the time and energy you have got in a day at your dispensation.Assume these pebbles are those important tasks in a day; and in your case; must be the tasks related to your JEE preparation. Be it maths problem solving, or learning new concepts in physics or taking a mock test what so ever. And imagine the sand is all other lesser important activities like reading news paper, watching comics on TV, chatting with friends or even browsing quora :P just kidding; which you may think as distractions that are preventing you from reaching your goal.If you identify, plan and chase those important activities (pebbles) in your day; rest of the lesser important activities (sand) will fall in place automatically; but if you fail to do so; then these lesser imp tasks fill your day and dont let you focus on better things. This not only applies for your JEE preparation but in general a good principle could be applied everywhere. This i learnt from one of my favourite professors from IIT Madras and i tell you; this is a lesson for life.Having said this; i dont want to leave you with just a story; follow the tips that may help you derive the strategy to identify those important tasks and reach your goal in my another answer posted below.Rajeev YSR's answer to Are there any tips IITians followed in their preparation for JEE to work smarter instead of harder?

Can sitting around a lot cause cellulite?

Sitting around THINKING sitting around causes cellulite causes cellulite.

All journeys are emotional first.

Try this as you are sitting, think:

"As I sit here, every cell in my body is vibrating with love and health. I am giving my body this time to grow healthier, sexier, and vibrant."

Likewise, as you eat:

"Every bite of this [whatever] is nourishing my every cell with perfect health".

And, so on and so on with everything that you do.

You are doing very well for yourself by choosing forms of exercise that you find enjoyable. Keep doing that and you will continue to grow more and more beautiful.

How do I study 17 hours a day with full concentration?

To study 17 hours a day is acceptable but to study 17 hours daily is impossible and also it is not advisable.I never think like that I Will study 15 hours or 17 hours today.Everyday I had my plans for a day and I always just wanted to finish that in time.If Hard work pays, show me a rich donkey and I'll believe you.If you want to increase your study hours then you to have increase your study hours gradually because if you start study directly 15–17 hours daily then you wouldn't maintain concentration. When I was preparing for GATE, that time I were used to study in college library. When I had started my preparation, initially I were study around 3–4 hours (Effectively).Gradually I started increasing my study hours . I never studied more than 3 hours continuously. I always take small breaks like 15–20 mins. These breaks also increases your efficiency.GATE has wide syllabus. So complete all the syllabus I pushed my limits and started studying around 10–11 hours. BUT effectively it would be 7–8 hours. In my study hours in library , for sake of change I were used to read newspaper, magazines etc.I had divided my day in two parts, some for theory part and one for numericals.Mostly I preferred to study atleast 2 subjects in a day. This methodology avoided depression and expedited my Subject coverage. When you study 7–8 hours continuously then you would start feeling bored and your efficiency at that time also decreased. To study long hours some factor also plays vital role ,Take nutritious food at short interval.Furniture must be comfortable enough and you must relax while long hour study.Poor Postures while studying.Study in airy and well illuminated areas to avoid eye strainAvoid bending in order to see the reading material or computer. At the end of the day only one things matters that is how much information and knowledge you had been gathered.Efficiency is doing things right; effectiveness is doing the right things.Best of luck !!!

How can I make studying a priority and how do I study properly.?

It sounds like what you need is a good study system. When used consistently, a good study method will not only help you study more effectively, but it will also enable you to develop a good feel for how much time you should be spending studying. This will help you to plan and organize your study time much better. You'll be able to spend more time studying and less time trying to figure out how to study.

There are lots of good study systems out there. Just do a Google search for terms such as "how to study", "study system", "study method", "college study skills", etc. Or, try this one: http://studylikeanexpert.com/beststudymethod.aspx It's the best one I've found and is the one I used to make the Dean's Honor List my junior and senior years in college. It's the only study method I've been able to find that focuses primarily on how to study your textbooks in order to be successful on exams. Since textbook studying is the majority of your studying, this is a good skill to learn and is certainly the skill that helped me the most.

This is a good one, but there are lots of others, so look around.

Good luck!
