I have a herniated disk and had the same problems as you. I was not able to stand up for a long time, always in pain, when I wake up in the am my back was sore for three hours.

My disk issues are under control, even the pain is not as frequent. The problem is with your abs, the strength of your abs give your back added support.
My suggestion is to:
* Make Healthy Choices
I cut out junk food, fast food, fried food. Low fat, high protein choices. Make your meals as "colorful" as possible. Lean meats, fish, fruits & veggies and whole grains are great choices.
* Drink More Water
I was able to see results fast when I decided to cut out sugary juices and soda. 8-8 oz glasses a day. I would add some aloe vera concentrate, this helped me control my acid reflux without medications. Green tea is a great choice because it helps with weight loss.
* Exercise
Take 10-15 minutes to stretch out your back. Back exercises are great and my favorite video is the cheesy video, 8 minute abs, if done right is extremely effective. You will start to feel your abs tighten within two weeks. The problem with ab exercises and machines is the concentration and effort you put in. I see people going through the motions and get no where.
* Supplements are my personal favorite. There are times when you are not getting the proper nutrition your body needs. I like taking my multi-vitamin, omega 3, calcium supplement. I also take 2 herbal supplements that helped me with water retention and one that helps my body absorb all the good nutrition faster. Last, I have kept my weight off since October, 2007 and a Healthy Meal Replacement shake for breakfast gives me a huge advantage. I would get the same nutritional value in a shake (180 calories) as in a regular 2000 calorie meal but without the added garbage.

Im 14 how can i get six-pack abs?

im 14 and 4 months old im anywhere between 5'1" and 5'3" in height and i weigh about 97 pounds (Though it may seem like im really skinny i actually have a bit of excess belly fat). i have been doing 50+ situps each night for maybe 2-4 weeks. when i started i could not see a six-pack when i flexed my abs but now i can slightly see one if i flex my abs a certain way. but i think that the bit of belly fat i mentioned earlier is covering it. i think that without it, my abs a visible.
So what im asking is:

1.Should i continue the situps i mentioned that i have been doing?
2.Should i start a new ab workout and should that replace or add-on to the situps?
3.What excersice or activity could get rid of my belly fat?
4.What foods should i avoid in trying to get rid of my belly fat?

Please help, thank you.

PS: i dont want anyone saying anything like your too young or youll stunt your growth because i know 2 things for sure:
-it is very possible for me to lose may belly fat and get six-pack abs
-im fine with being short and do realize my bones are growing
