How do I save a Mac OSX compatible Adobe illustrator (.Ai) file using Windows 7?

An AI file can be opened in Windows or MAC OSX Adobe illustrator..If your Windows 7 version of Illustrator wont open the mac file then it’s more likely to be a versioning difference. So in your Mac OSX Illustrator, go to save as and save an earlier version like CS4. Then if your Windows Illustrator is CS4 or above it will open it.See screenshot below. Its probably just that illustrator on Windows is older than the illustrator on the Mac.

Can After Effects & Illustrator files be shared by Windows and Mac users?

Yes you can. I have tried it before and it worked perfectly. When we open the file After effects will show that "File created in mac and converting  file to windows format". Thats it. We dont really have to do anything. But keep in mind that when transferring the file to another PC, Put the source file and all other user files (video, images, audio etc) in same folder.

Why am I getting a red screen in the “composition” windows of After Effects CC (Mac)?

A “Red Screen” is more likely to be the result of an unlicensed plugin. And if you meant “Red Error” then you've probably activated CAPS LOCK, that freezes refreshing of a frame.

After effects warning: Could not create the file'/?

Never had issues with After Effects before now. I am currently using CS6 and I unfortunately just upgraded my OS Snow Leopard to Maverick. When I first opened AE it wouldn't let me but I downloaded a new plugin that allowed me to open it back up. Right now I'm working a 3D room/ tunnel with pictures on all the walls and a camera spinning through it. When I went to save as, it gave me this message: after effects warning: Could not create the file'/
No matter which of the 4 types of files I try to save it as, it won't work. I was wondering if it was the program or the file I'm working on itself but I can't start a new file and loose hours of work (yes I know, slap me on the wrist for not making a save file when I started it.) Any help would be appreciated. Also, it will let me render. I guess all I can't do is try and finish the project and hope my computer doesn't crash before I finish it.

How can I download Adobe After Effects for free, without paying for it?

So of course you can just download the trial, and use after effects for the 7 day’s adobe gives, but whats the point right? Well if you can get it for free, wouldn't that make much much more sense, like what have you even been thinking.I’ll let you in on a secret, u can get aftereffects and actually any adobe program for free.OH MY GOD!!! WHAAAT?? FREE???HOW??Well its actually quite simple, but u have to know about the computer file system first and this trick only works on windows only. For Mac you just add a file to the application of the program, but if you have enough money for a Mac, you could just buy the subscription. So the first step is to right click on the application of the adobe program, which in this case is After Effects, and click “open file location.”Next, you will have to find a folder named “AMT,” so open it.Then you will have to scroll down and you will see a file named “application.xml” so right click it, and click “open with notepad”Now, you just have to scroll to the right and on the longest written line, near the end, towards the right, it should say “trial serial number,” so you would just change that. I usually just add 1 to the end of it so I know I never repeat the serial numberNext save that notepad file on your desktop. Then just drag and drop that “application.xml” file from your desktop into the “AMT” folderNow click “replace” if that popup appears and you should have restarted the trial. Now open and use after effects againRepeat every 7 days, unless you don’t use after effects that muchEnjoySee, 10 easy steps and you will have after effects for free. Now this is not the full version but if your work really needed you to use all the features of the full version then just buy it. Otherwise this is great for people who are on a budget or if you're too scared to ask your parents because you they will say no. Yeah, it wasn’t that pleasant.

What is the best PC build or Mac for running After Effects and Premiere Pro?

Having recently purchased a new rig I’ve done a lot recent research on this. There is a video on Vimeo featuring an After Effects Benchmark Test. No other place really has an official one, so this has become the unofficial official AE Benchmark Test. People list their specs in the comments along w/ the time it takes to render the test in various versions of After Effects. Take a look through those and see what best suits your performance needs vs costs. Take a look here: After Effects Performance Test FileAlso everything Maddy said is pretty spot-on, however I have a few things to add. Use a SSD for system drive, a separate SSD for cache and conformed files, and if you can afford it another SSD for project files. Also get as much RAM as you can afford. AE is a RAM hog. On the rig I bought I put 128 GB RAM in there. Premiere will benefit from much of the same set-up.For Processor, it depends on which version of AE you are using to make sure you get the full benefits of it. CC 2014 is the last stable version that has multiprocessing still available and will take advantage of a multi-core processor. Any AE after that (like 2015 or 2017) does not let use multiprocessing to render. So you are better off getting a solid Intel processor with the highest Ghz like a 6700k Skylake.About 3D… if you are using C4D your are most likely going to want more cores if you use the physical renderer. If you use Octane renderer you are going to want to stack GPUs. Like 4 x 980 ti’s or 2x 1080s. Get a GPU from nVidia to take advantage of CUDA. Plugins like Sapphire, Element 3D, ReVision and raytraced 3D all take advantage of CUDA.I switched from Mac to PC as I don’t like the current Mac Pro builds and specs and don’t see them switching to anything I would like within the next 5 years or so (if ever). The rig I bought from Titan computers. Effects missing after effects cs6?

when I boot up after effects on mac, I get an error message saying that "metadata browser is missing" and after that, it asks me if I would like to update. I say no, because I don't have a current os, and i'm afraid that it won't work. Anyway, when I enter AE, everything under the "effects" category is missing, and nothing shows up under "help." Got any suggestions?
