How To Make Dubstep Help Wanna Be A Superstar Dj

I am 27. Is it too late to become an EDM producer/DJ?

Let me share my point of view with you.First, don't make music professionally if you are looking for financial stability . Especially electronic music because, in that case, you can' t earn money as a player (let's say a studio musician, a live musician, by being part of an orchestra/troop etc ...) but only through sales and gigs (wich implies you are quite known already and not a "technical" musician) . Maybe beeing a local DJ could provide that kind of stability but trust me the job isn't about filling out stadiums, playing what you like with a responding crowd and earning tons of money. It's not hell and far from it but it's way too idealized. You should be making music because you like it and because you want people to listen to it and enjoy it. In the EDM scene, labels such as Spinnin' records have made their profession to find and create 1 hits tracks but their artists don't really follow up on big careers... (with the relative exception of Martin Garix(x?) and maybe 1 or 2 more ).That being said, technically neither EDM production or Djing are hard to learn (at least to produce some result, not saying good or bad result, but at least something audible) and there is no age to learn so if you are passionate go for it, it is an interesting journey. You don't really need to quit your job for now nor to invest tons of money. You could potentially start a career by producing 1 track on your computer like you would make some paintings on your sunday time. If you get a bit a traction (even after 10 or 20 "released tracks") go for it but otherwise I don't think it's wise to abandon everything to end up in a very crowded environement full of Avicii or David Guetta wanabes.Do what you are passionate about but leaving your job is a risk that might not be needed. Produce music because you like it and eventually people will like it and you will make money. Don't do it to achieve some kind of financial stability.Don't mean to shoot your dreams down but to make you see what this scene is really about. I like the fact that anybody can produce its own music and try its chance. You are not the only one thinking about these kind of career, they are even "schools" for that now ... Music is a passion. For some who are lucky and/or good enough it's also their job but they are few.Wish you luck and inspiration !

I need some really good techno/trance/electronic/house... whatever!?

I'm trying to make a new CD with some really awesome songs that really catch your attention! I am especially interested in songs that have good lyrics.
Some examples that I like are:
DJ Antoine- this time
Deadmau5- You & I, Ghost n' Stuff (nero mix)
Oceanlab- On a good day
MSTRKRFT- Heartbreaker
Nero- This way
Headhunterz- Tonight

Just to kinda give you an idea. I love songs with great beats and rhythm, but also have words!
Please anything will help and any genre is great too!!!
Thank you!!

How hard is it to make EDM, do artists such as Avicii and David Guetta come up with ideas randomly, and are their productions the result of pure talent or can this be taught?

EDM is a very broad category, and depending on what you want to do, you will require different skillsets. However, I want to say to you that the level of talent required for creating something is generally a very bad measure. Everything can be taught. In your question, you ask specifically about people like Avicii and Guetta. From a "musical" standpoint, it's very simple. If you master some basic scales and chord progressions, and practice making memorable lead melodies, you won't have any difficulties. None of them does anything vaguely original in this respect. It's not exactly Beethoven. However, they are very skilled at something which is arguably more important - manipulating the energy levels of the audience. This is done at the DJ level in their live performances, and is one of the major reasons for their widespread popularity. They are masters at reading and manipulating crowd reactions and energies. Don't think of these guys as song-makers or producers. They are primarily live performers, who can manipulate their quite simple base material to fit perfectly with the mood of the people listening. This is done by knowing how to escalate musical tension, when to provide release for this tension, and when to change from minor to major keys, or vice versa. This is psychology more than it is music.I recommend you get a basic DJ set and a DAW. Sure, start producing stuff, but put your focus on DJing your own songs, and creating good arrangements. Learn to manipulate your tracks live from a controller rig. Club music is about energy, not musical content and not lyrics. If this is the road you want to travel, then - at least in the beginning, don't bother learning all inversions of a dim 2 chord. Focus on the energy and arrangement. Most hits are musically simple, and you will hit your point of diminishing returns very quickly when studying theory.

How did the chopped and screwed remixing technique come about in hip hop?

Chopped and screwed (sometimes called screwed and chopped or slowed and throwed) is a technique of remixing hip hop music which developed in the Houston hip hop scene in the early 1990s. This is accomplished by slowing the tempo down to between 60 and 70 quarter-note beats per minute and applying techniques such as skipping beats, record scratching, stop-time, and affecting portions of the music to make a "chopped-up" version of the original.Wikipedia- Chopped and Screwed

I want to become a professional DJ. I don't like mixing but actually interested in trances. How do I start? How long would it take? Can it be possible without joining DJ schools?

Now, Let me ask you something. What is a DJ and whats his job? or what are you gonna do as a DJ?A: As a DJ its your job to entertain people with music and keep it playing. The only way to be a DJ is to learn mixing or turntables. (Turntables is tough and takes a lot of practice)Thats what DJ's do and not the commercial stuff you see in UMF and sunburn. For that you have to be a music producer. Now, you speak of trance. Make sure its trance! because I have met a lot of people who claim to like trance and dont even know what trance is, most of the time they are talking about House or Trap. Sometimes even Dubstep.Personally I would recommend you to go to a DJ school but if you are NOT looking for a career in DJing and want to take it as a hobbie, then you can learn online. There are lot of people who have a lot of tutorials like DJ angelo, Juicy M, Etc etc.Go to youtube, learn something and then decide what you exactly want. PS: Mixing isnt that hard. All you need is a technique and a sync button.
