Develop your repertoire. Be able to sing hit songs in your genre, and try other genres to increase your likelihood of getting gigs. You can also write original songs that flatter your singing voice. Network with local musicians Check your newspaper's classified ads to see if any bands are advertising for a lead or backup singer. Ask to sit in on a band's rehearsal and sing lead or backup for them. Audition for singing jobs in local recording studios. Start small and work your way up. Take voice lessons. Hire a voice teacher or vocal coach to help develop your singing voice to its full potential. Practice any exercises that your coach gives you. Develop an image. Think about how you want to look in front of an audience and develop a look that's uniquely yours. Take publicity photos of yourself or your band that showcase your image. Record a demo CD. Recruit the best musicians in your area and put together a demo of one or two songs. Keep copies of your CD with you at all times, especially when you're singing at a gig. Mail copies of your demo to record companies or to other singers that you admire. Perform as often as possible. Join a choir, sing in church, front a band or perform at a local fair. Performing often will increase your confidence in front of a mic. Enter a competition: karaoke competition, an open mic or a local talent show. If you have the opportunity, then take an audition for a major singing competition show such as American Idol or X-Factor. Set up a website. Include photos, a biography, a touring schedule and maybe a blog. Allow your fans to download free copies of some of your songs from the website. Share your performance footage. Post videos of your performances on YouTube and share the links on Facebook or Twitter. You never know who might stumble across your performance. Hire a booking agent when you've built your reputation. An agent can help you to find performance opportunities outside of your local venues.

Rarely do I use Facebook to find news or links to industry-related articles.Twitter is my main resource for information. I have selectively followed people who provide information that I find relevant. I also follow local people & businesses to stay tuned in to what's going on in Raleigh. I also follow brands on Twitter more willingly than on Facebook.Twitter differs from Facebook also in that it's a more open community. You can follow or be followed without it being a mutual relationship. Also, since you have more control over how much is shared about you on that site, it's less "creepy" to connect with total strangers.I turn to Twitter for recommendations, news, funny snip-its and more. Twitter is also better for search. Find out if anyone is talking about your brand in San Francisco. Find out if there are happy hour specials on Thursdays in Boston. Search for other people attending an upcoming conference...Facebook is better for keeping up with friends - who got married, who moved to Argentina, who had triplets, who made a snowman, and so on...It's also easier to do from your phone :)
Lip syncing video? Need help?
I'm going to make a video of me and some friends lip singing to one of our favorite songs. We're making a video too it's funny and we are putting the audio of the original song we are lip singing so It can sound good instead of the music playing from the background. Is it illegal to do this? I don't think well put it on YouTube..? If we do can we? Btw what apps are good for editing on iPhone? I have a computer but my parebts won't let me download programs-.- thanks.
