How To Re-install Windows 7 64-bit As Now I Am Running 32-bit Os Read On.

How do I install Windows 8.1 64 bit over Windows 7 32 bit?

To install a 64 bit version of Windows you must have an 64 bit CPU.If you are not sure about this, press Windows+Break on your keyboard. In "System Type" you will read "32-bit Operating System". If after this there is "x64-based processor" then your CPU is 64 bit.Now the problem is that you can't install a 64 bit version of Windows over a 32 bit. So the only possible solution is a clean install. But if your CPU is 32 bit you CAN'T install a x64 version of Windows. Try installing the 32 bit version or upgrade your CPU.

What will happen if I install a 64 bit OS (Windows/Linux) on a 32 bit computer?

It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that you have a 32-bit-only computer. There have been none of them made in at least 10 years. Every recent computer (since 10 years back) is BOTH 32–bit AND 64-bit.If you really genuinely do have a 32-bit-only computer, it is a museum piece and should be donated to your nearest computing museum. The most likely outcome is that when you go to install, the installer switches the machine to 64-bit mode and installs happily, and when you boot up, you discover to your great amazement, that you really do have a 64-bit machine.

Trying to reinstall windows 7 on my computer? Help please!?

The disc is probably damaged and there's no way you can fix it. Either you order a new set of recovery discs from Dell or get a Windows 7 installer.

I'll assume you still have the OEM sticker containing the product key for your Windows 7 Professional edition. As you didn't say what version (32 or 64-bit) you have, choose the right one to download:

Windows 7 Professional Edition SP1 (bootable)
x86 (32-bit) version -- http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/...
x64 (64-bit) version -- http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/...

Those are genuine ISO images of Windows 7 Pro w/ integrated Service Pack 1 installer. It comes from Digital Rivers which is Microsoft's official online retailer of Microsoft products.

Downloading the files from Digital River is absolutely legal and completely free of charge. As this is an official download channel, you can also be sure to receive a disk image free of viruses and malware. Without a legally obtained Product Key however, any Windows 7 installation will only run for 30 days. Afterwards, it needs to be activated. If you have a valid Product Key, this should not be a problem.

If you have at least 4GB of RAM or are planning on adding more memory, plan ahead and choose the 64-bit version. If your product key is not for Windows 7 Pro but for a different edition like Home Premium or Ultimate, convert the ISO image to a universal installer so you can still use the image to install the edition you need. Use this converter:

Burn the ISO image to a DVD or transfer it to a USB flash drive using this Microsoft USB / DVD Download Tool:

Use either the DVD or USB flash drive to reinstall your OS and activate it with the OEM product key that matches the edition you installed.

How do I change windows from 32 bit to 64 bit?

You can only install the Windows version that matches your processor architecture. If your processor is 32-bit, you can’t install a 64-bit Windows version, unless you change your motherboard and install a 64-bit processor. For you to know that, right-click My Computer and select System. If your processor is 64 bit, you’ll see that there, as shown below. If this screenshot shows “32-bit operating system” and “x86 processor”, you can only change your processor to a new one supporting 64-bit architecture, otherwise you can’t natively install a 64-bit version like that. It’s a hardware feature, not something you can change with a software tweak.

I have Windows 7 32 bit. Can I upgrade to 64 bit Windows 10 (since it's a free upgrade)?

Assuming that the hardware supports 64-bit. You need to backup files before switching between 32 and 64 bit. Switching requires formatting the system drive for the OS and doing a fresh install.Assuming that you are on Windows 7/8/8.1 Pro, do the following:1) Download the media creation tool from the Microsoft site2) Create the image for the associated 32-bit or 64-bit OS that you are onRemember : You can upgrade from Windows 7/8/8.1 32-bit to Windows 10 32-bitIf you need to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit, then you need to upgrade to Windows 10 32-bit, activate then format the system and install Windows 10 64-bit (Applications and data will be lost)3) Use the installer to upgradeAlso you cannot freely upgrade from Home to Pro. The automatic activation wouldnt happen and you need to buy a license.See : Sri SuryaKiran Kasturi's answer to How do I activate Windows 10?If not, then you need to buy a license.

Can I downgrade from Windows 10 64bit to 32bit?

Why do you want to? 64 bit runs a lot of 32 bit software, so if you're thinking you'd lose some software, try it first. It can be done but it would involve flattening your machine and completely reinstalling it.And it baffles me why you'd even want to do it.

How do I upgrade from Windows 10 32bit to Windows 10 64 bit? Please read details

Off-the-bat; check your hardware to note if it's 64 bit compatible. It's the primary reason this error is shown (irrespective of the software). If your hardware (CPU & MotherBoard) is 64 bit compatible then read on...Momentarily, the only upgrade from win 10 32 bit to 64 bit is through a format-> new installation. The other option is; revert to the earlier OS (by system restore or ISO backup recovery) and install the 64bit version. When installing a new OS always make it a habit to create an ISO DVD/USB backup of the old OS.PS. Resetting personal settings is a royal pain up the rear end so, take a precautions to avoid this unnecessary annoyance.

How do I upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit on Windows 10?

I fully agree with Konstantin VasiljevicIf you have more than 4GB RAM, then 64-bit OS is recommendable. The maximum memory 32-bit OS can work with is 4GB. This include your video card.Windows OS is even worse. It uses around 3.5GB RAM.Another key point is Security64bit-OS is more secured than 32-bit OSTaking Windows for instance,Mandatory Drive Signingthe 64-bit makes it mandatory for all driver codes to be digitally signed… This enforcement is not strong in 32-bit.Data Execution ProtectionThis allows the OS to mart certain portions of the memory as “Don’t go there”. This prevents malicious codes from executing at locations meant to store data.DEP is enabled by default on 64-bit.DEP is disabled by default on 32 bit. It’s only available on modern 32-bit CPUs.16-bit Support.64-bit OS has no support for 16-bit applications.32-bit OS supports 16-bitWhat this means, old viruses can not run on 64-bit OS. But they can run on 32-bit OSAddress Space Layout RandomizationThis feature also works fine in 64-bit than 32-bit because the more then memory space used to implement ASLR, the better the randomization. This trick makes program’s data location in memory less predictable.. That means malware will have to do a lot of work in order to find the data locationKernel Patch ProtectionThis feature only works in 64-bit OS.This prevents drivers running in Kennel-mode from patching the Windows kennelUPDATE: I think the question has been edited.———————————————————————-The initial question was “WHY” should I upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit?.I even shared it on one telegram platformThe question has bn changed to “HOW” do I upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit on Windows 10? [Making my answer redundant]
