How To Run A Mile Under 7 Minutes

How do you run a mile under 7 minutes?

That's in 2 days. Wow.

Sleep well.

If you know the guy who might win and you know his time or if you know another runner, maybe your friend...this is what you might be able to do. If the other runner is a little better this might work...

If he's much better than you it will not work.

Start slow...let him get ahead a little, not more than 5 metres..cover 300-400 yards or metres like that. Move up behind him running exactly the same strides as him..another 600..so now you covered 1000. Move to his right shoulder, staying slightly behind him...don't go ahead, stay there, hold your place...another 300.

Now 300 metres left....how do you feel? Ok, stay there...now you judge how far it is too the finish....unexpectedly you start sprinting as hard as you possibly can...just 100 to the finish....try to hold it.

Got it? If other runners go ahead ignore them..stick to the one you picked in the beginning. A mile is 1600 metres

How can i run a mile in under 8 minutes?

wow you're dumber than I thought, a bunch of words on a blog won't get you faster, you either running daily as hard as you can, or naturally being talented will get you to run faster, words mean nothing, if you want to run faster, practice running, if you want to play soccer better, practice soccer, maybe if you got outside once in a while instead of sitting on your *** asking bloggers for advice you would be faster

How can I run a 7 minute mile?

Your best bet is to add a long run and a speed session each week. Your long run should be an easy pace--5 to 7 miles (or more). The long runs will build strength in your legs. After your long run, run 6-10 strides. Those are about 100 meters runs. Use the first 50 meters to build up to full speed. The last half of the run should be full speed. Walk back to the start and repeat.

The speed sessions will give you speed. Since you only have to run a mile, I would run 1/4 miles or 400s (one lap around the track). Go to your track. Run 6-8 400s with a 2 min rest between each. You'll want to run each 400 in about 1:40 (1 minute 40 seconds). If you can't do it now, work your way down. Make sure your last 400s are strong.

The strides and speed work are all about increasing your turnover (how fast your legs are moving). The more steps you can take in a second, the faster you will be. Good luck.

How can you run the mile under 7:59 minutes?

You won't be able to do it by magic. You need to build up to it. You are very close, so it shouldn't take too much, but you need to run. Do a little bit more each day. Take a watch with you if you want to test yourself, but don't do it every day. Some days should be easy, while others you want to try to push yourself.

How hard is it to run a mile in 6 minutes?

It’s not difficult, and it doesn’t require much training. Little kids can run 6-minute miles with minimal training. Most people can do it, if they try! It just takes a little experience. The trick is remembering that running fast is different from jogging. Most people just go out for a jog. They never do anything to teach themselves to run fast. If you want to learn how to run fast, you have to try to run fast on a regular basis. One interval workout per week should do the trick. You also have to learn how to run with an efficient form. Running fast helps your form, so the more often you do those track workouts, the better. But, honestly, it doesn’t take much effort to run a 6-minute mile. You can do it!

How do you run a four minute mile?

Like Roger Bannister did! You first run one minute quarter miles resting in between each lap (on a 1/4 mile track). Then, the magic happens, when you start reducing the rest time from a minute or maybe ten between the quarters to ZERO.It is that simple. Also helps if you are a great dedicated athlete with great running genes (not the Levi’s type).Few people can achieve this no matter how they train.Roger Bannister

How do I run a mile (1600m) in 5 minutes from 6:30 minutes within a month?

Easy. My first season of track, I ran over 7 minutes in the mile (and this was the 2nd of 6 meets because I didn't run the mile my first meet). The 5th meet, I ran a 5:24. Meaning within 3 weeks, I cut my time down by 2 minutes. Here's what I did:Times laps. Work on getting your lap down. If you're currently running a 1:30 lap. You'll want to cut that down to a 1:25 or lower.Work on your strides. You need to have very open strides to carry you through the race.Eat healthy. No soda at all, try to have more healthy food than unhealthy food and DON'T starve yourself.run on the weekends (lighter than during the week though; go with a light 2-4 mile light jog)The day before your exam, DO NOT do anything extensive, you don't want to hurt yourself.Hope this helps. Good luck :)
