Can I get into MIT through research papers?

I can't say for sure, but it would be cool if you wrote “I am an auto-didact. I have read 1000’s of books of my interest in different subject matters, and I have written multiple research papers in certain topics relating to what I want to study at MIT”. Though I might question the legitimacy of your research paper considering you are only writing with knowledge from high school and a few online resources. It is mostly grads and post-doctorates who write complete research papers that can introduce new information never thought to exist earlier. You simply do not have the means and knowledge to conduct massive scientific and Mathematical experiments at the pre-secondary level, plus you will need to get your paper clarified by the university and some other researchers, but you are not in the university yet so that's a bit counter-intuitive. You can make a small research document about knowledge and things you find online and in textbooks, but here's what admissions officers might say when seeing that: “awww, that's cute isn't it, I hope this guy knows that this information is already on Google and anyone can find it”. Although, I am getting an idea from further inquiry about this. If you write a research paper about something advanced and explain it in your own words; ideas: Calculus explained for kindergarteners, or Simply, Model theory. If you make this document and something done to the best if your ability (we're talking completely publishable kind of quality), and you are able to find a book editor and gain his clarification. Heck, even publish it as a book alone. Admissions officers will love you. How do you know this works? Well, because I've done this. I wrote multiple books and created a tutoring service. I haven't published the books, looking back at them, there's probably some things I could improve. This combined with my good grades (4.0 GPA), 1600 SAT score, and 45 MCAT score, and a lot of other things, for me into MIT and Harvard. I went to MIT for my master's in electrical engineering and computer science. I also went to Harvard for Medical school and Law school, which lead me to complete the MCAT. Strive for the best grades, study extra, create things, teach things, volunteer at different locations for a variety of events, and you will get into MIT.

How long should a research paper be?

How long should a good research paper be? To answer this question, we need to look at a few technical aspects of the paper—how it’s written, what its purpose is and what format it should be in. These and other features should help you to gauge, with a high level of certainty, at what point your paper is long enough to be academically acceptable. How it’s written-Most professors require written projects to be typed in size 12, Times New Roman font. Bearing this in mind, a full Word document page will consist of approximately 500 words (including your heading and other format requirements). Your research text should contain a total of between 2500 to 3000 words.A note on relevance- Going a little bit over or under this word count isn’t exactly academic suicide, but bear in mind that your professor will want to dedicate enough time to your paper to give it a good score, and at the same time won’t want to waste too much time reading irrelevant information. The purpose and subject- Certain research papers require additional information besides words; such as images, graphs, tables or other illustrations. Try to remember not to use up as much space as you can when using any of these mediums so as to minimize the word content (professors have seen all these tricks before). The format- Headings, subtitles and captions will affect your research paper length, but don’t exclude these from your word count. Each one of them is just as much a part of your paper as the rest of the plain text, and should be treated as such. The pages - Considering all of these points, we can comfortably conclude that about 7 pages is an acceptable length for a good research paper. If you need help in improving your research paper I can suggest Cheapest Essay, they offer research paper writing service and other writing services. Is 71% Originality Score fine on a Research Paper with quotes?

Hey guys! I'm in ninth grade and I just did a research paper on Chernobyl. Before typing, we did notecards, where we took direct quotes from a website, or paraphrased a couple paragraphs from a website. From there, we made an outline, where I easily placed notecards into chronological order. So my paper is due friday, and I wanted to get a headstart so I did it today. i basically just used my notecards and whenever it was a direct quote I'd either quote it with marks or put it in my own words. I.e. if it said a long sentence about rbmks etc, I would sum it up. Anyway, I had 6 direct quotes, and 14 pages when I finished. On PaperRater.com, I originally got a 57% originality, but after taking out ALL quotes I'm at 71%. Is this fine for a research paper, or does it look like plagiarism? I did not CTRL C - CTRL V anything, I put it ALL in my own words. Is 71% fine?

How do I score good grades at Anna University?

I am from Anna university and I think capable of answering this question. Very simple to score grades like D, C, E at university exams. If you got more than 16 marks out of 20 in internal there's no problem for grades. Here I have few tips to score above three grades. For grade E you have two options, first one you should answer the every questions of given question paper whether you know the right answer and whatever. The second option is wrote the exact answer for minimum number of questions for pass mark. For grades D, C you need good handwriting with color pens and presentation like underline the subtopics, end lines for every answers in part B & C.For last time preparation rejinpaul questions helps to score above all grades. Sometimes you can score high grades but always having possibility to score pass mark. And I extremely sorry for finished my answer without saying about high grades Like S, A, B. Because I never and ever scored those grades in my past theoretical exams. So really I don't have the knowledge to give the tips.

How much importance does a research paper hold for admissions in masters program apart from the gre score?

I applied for graduate studies recently, and so I have some idea. Though professors might be able to answer better. In my opinion, there are few things that play a major role in the admission:GRE / TOEFL scoresUndergraduate gradesRecommendation lettersResearch papers and projectsStatement of purpose and CVLuck!Research papers are not very important. I have known people who got PhD in top schools without a single publication. The more important parameters are strong recommendation letters and undergraduate grades. And I think even GRE / TOEFL scores are not very important. Anything above 320 on the GRE, and above 100 on the TOEFL should be good for most good schools.

1.How do you score student papers, projects, and written assignments? Are there certain procedures to follow?

Instructors generally use rubrics to measure the success of any given paper or project.
Let's say your assignment was to turn in a research paper.
As an instructor I might say:
10 points of your grade is based on the strength of the topic you have chosen.
"Are Kittens Cute: Let's See!" is weak and would get about a 1
"Breast Cancer Awareness: How Far Have We Come?" would be strong and would get a 10.
30 points of your grade is based on the level of research you have done.
Taking a couple pictures of your kitten would be 2 points
Using mulitple research databses to pull up an assortment of articles from books, journals, magazines and news documentaries, reading about 20 of them and citing all of your research properly would get 30 points.
40 points to the organization and structure of your essay.
Making it free-form and deciding the just "let the pictures speak for themselves" in this case would get maybe 3 points.
Using proper research paper structure and having labeled figures and tables to substantiate your work would get 40 points.
Neatness of presentation gets 20 points.
You put it on construction paper and tie it together with yarn. 4 points.
You have it bound by the copy store and use professional bound paper for the cover sheets: 20 points

and ya wonder why teachers look tired all the time!

If I received 115 points out of 150 points possible on a research paper, what is my final grade??

76.6, so 77.
