How To Slim Down My Legs In A Week

Does running work to slim down legs?

In essence, yes, but the question would be “what’s your idea of ‘slim?’”You see, running is great for cardio vascular conditioning and it does help to tone your legs BUT excessive running without the proper nutrition in place, will just contribute to you burning muscle for energy instead of fat, usually resulting in thinner but softer legs. I agree with Anthony Jones (above), interval training is much more beneficial as it is short bursts of high intensity which not only improves your cardio capacity but it also builds more muscle in your legs in comparison to long distance running. Its the ‘ol ‘Long distance runner V sprinter’ comparison. Long distance runners are long, wiry, slender builds while sprinters are more solid, toned and lean. What you have to decide is ‘what do I want to look like?’. I trick I have always used to gauge what type of ‘body goals’ my clients have is to ask who their inspiration is. This isn’t to promote comparisons to others, its simply to understand THEIR idea of beauty and then help them to achieve something towards that vision (providing its healthy and achievable).Another HUGE point to make and something that is looked past when wanting to slim down, especially by women, is weight training. There is such a misconception in the world that weight training makes you bulky, which is completely false! Below is a picture of me when I was doing ONLY weight training and intervals (coupled with the right nutrition). I came from being between 63kg - 68kg my whole life, running 5–10km almost every day and never really achieving the body I wanted. Then I started weight training & added in intervals twice a week and BOOM, my body started to firm up and I was losing fat while keeping my little baby muscles. At this weight I could deadlift 100kg off the ground .. and I don’t think anyone could call me bulky … could they?Anyway, Ill finish by saying … Regardless of what size or shape you are, try and celebrate your body each and every day. Instead of looking in the mirror all the time, close your eyes and feel your body from the inside. Celebrate your STRONG legs, POWERFUL heart, PEACEFUL mind … At the end of the day, physical beauty fades .. but the essence and beauty you build in your mind and heart will shine brighter as each moment passes. PEACE x

Why wont my legs slim down?

I Have lost 30 lbs, and it seems like my legs wont slim down. They are muscular as it is. The other day I went shopping for pants, because the ones I have are getting too big. I noticed that the waists are big, and in my thight and leg area they are tight. I had to wear the same size that I had been getting before I lost the weight!! It made me so mad! How can I be more sucessful in getting into a smaller pant size. and why am I still the same pant size as I was before I lost the weight?!! I run/ walk on the treadmill 4/5 times a week for 30 mins then go on the elliptical for 15 mins after i lift. What suggestions do you have?? Thanks!

Will insanity bulk up my legs or slim them down?

I am doing insanity, i am only a week in but i don't want bulky legs so i thought i should ask before i go any further. I have become very athletic recently. I do a 3 mile brisk walk at an incline on the treadmill everyday, i do arm weights, and i also do zumba and pilates about 2 times a week. I am 16, female, 5.1, 98 pounds. I have very fatty thighs, and so i am trying to achieve very slim but toned thighs. I want the thigh gap. So basically i want to be slim, lean, and toned. Will insanity help me achieve this or will it just bulk me up? I also do yoga sometimes. Thanks!

How can I slim my thighs down?

donkey kicks. kneel on all fours. keep your legs bent, raise one at a time as high as you can, hold for say, 4 seconds, and let it down, repeat with the other leg- get up to 5 sets of 50 or so, you'll cut that weight off- whether it's fat or muscle. sounds like you have genetically more muscular thighs, it's no big deal, just how God made you. for some, running will actually make you legs a lot bigger and more muscular. if you're at a gym, use their hamstring/ reverse leg extension machine, do the same movement, it will do the job a lot faster.

How can I get skinny legs in a week?

Walk 5-10 minutes to warm your muscles. Stretch for at least 1 minute per muscle. Jog for 15 minutes. This may also be substituted by 10-15 minutes of skipping a jump rope, just make sure you do it properly. Kick your legs up to your butt. These are called butt kicks or kick backs . Do at least 50 times per leg. It may seem a lot but it's not as much as you think! Run and lift your knees up to waist height. Walk for about 5-7 minutes to slow your heart rate. Do leg squats and leg rolls. Leg squats are just simply spreading your legs shoulder width apart and squatting. Leg rolls are where you lay down on the floor and place one leg in the air and roll it in a circular motion. Stretch or walk around for at least 5-10 minutes to cool down. Break into a jog every chance you get! And try to drink lots of water in order to stay hydrated. Go biking or cycling. Cycling around is a great way to burn fat and substitute it with muscle mass. By some estimates, if you weigh 130 lb (59 kg), you can burn anywhere from 325 to 550 calories per hour, depending on your speed. This makes cycling a great way to lose weight. There are several ways to use a bike to get skinnier legs: Biking around casually. Bike to the grocery store instead of driving. Bike to work instead of taking public transportation. If you bike casually, going about 11 mph (17.6 km/h), you can burn 275-450 calories per hour, depending on your weight. Use a stationary bike at home or at the gym. Because this is a bit lighter of an exercise, expect to burn anywhere from 250-450 calories per hour, depending on your weight. Do a spinning class. Spinning classes are butt-kicking but definitely worth it. The advantage here is that you burn a lot of calories: a 145 lb (65.8 kg) person might expect to burn about 750-1000 calories per hour of very vigorous spinning. On the other hand, spinning can be quite monotonous and you'll have to push yourself for maximum results.

Does running slim down your legs and thighs?

I have been running for a couple months now and Im not seeing results beside my calves are getting super muscular. I run at least 15 miles every week. I am training for a half marathon so I run 5 days week and about 16-18 miles a week so far and its increasing each week. I have a pear figure so I gain weight in my thighs and want to slim my legs down but I am just not seeing it and I run A LOT! I also eat pretty healthy and I drink a gallon of water each day. I also go to the gym twice a week to do some leg workouts. What is going on? When should I see results????
