I am not a parent, but I am almost 17 and been babysitting for several years, and watch my 1 1/2 year old nephew several days a week. Q1: This is irrelevant. You will have to have your business near your house. There are little kids every where, so there really is no "mass market'. Plus, you really can't babysit a lot of kids at once, especially since you are 11. You need to go to adults you know with young children and say that you are willing to babysit if they need you. Q2: Some people do and some people don't. For smaller kids it really is important that they are at their house where they are comfortable. For children older than about 4 the parents may be willing to bring them to your house. Q3-It depends on several factors. First, maturity level. Second, it is really important that you are certified in CPR/First Aid. You can get training for this at your local Y, the Red Cross or you can take a babysitting course such as Safe Sitter. Q4: This depends on how much experience you have. When I started(13) I was making about 20 dollars a week for 5-8hrs. Now I make about 6-8dollars an hour depending on who it is. Q5: If I thought you were responsible and knew first aid I might recommend you for someone that has a child between 3-5. I would not go younger and I would not go older(they may not respect you). Preschoolers are definitely the easiest. I also would not recommend you to a family with more then one child until you had been babysitting for a while. I hope that help give you some ideas.

what a great idea! first if all you have to build up a client list. Do this by offering to baby sit children . You can do this via a letter box drop or even on facebook. I know a lot of people would rather the person qualified and at least have first aid, so maybe look into doing that as well.good luck!

How do I start babysitting? (without experience)?
I seriously suggest you go out, get your babysitters certificate. Also, get CPR and first aid certified. Its way more professional. (: Then, you can start getting experience.. - Start off with your neighbors and family. Neighbors: If you see their kids outside, why don't you go outside and play? Offer yourself to their parents "Hi, I was wondering if you ever maybe wanted to go out sometime, or maybe wanted to clean around the house, but you can't do so with the kids around? I'd be glad to just play with them out here, take them to the park, or play inside." Family: Just start playing, offer to babysit, etc. - Start with cheapish rates, and work yourself up. I charge probably $10/hour for any amount of children, its just easier. You start off with $5/hour. With experience (because I have 3 years experience, I add $3), certifications (because I am CPR/First aid certified, I add $1), and precious clients references (because I have many references, I add $1)...So $10/hour total. - Good luck :)♥ Babysitting is a very profitable and rewarding job that not everyone can do. :) If you decide babysitting isn't for you (it rarely is), go to a grocery store or shopping mall and apply there. Babysitting isn't for everyone, and the kids can tell that you don't enjoy being there.. So be careful!
What Should I Include on a good babysitting business card?
I plan on putting up a business card at my Aunts house. She runs a daycare from her home and has several clients. I have a feeling she would put in a good word for me if anyone asks her opinion. They get tired of that head rush SUPAH fast, and want to play cards instead !!The parents loved that their kids had fun playing with me , never gave me any crap, and never whined about being left at home while they went out …. unless the sitter they got wasn't me!
