How can I find the motivation to eat healthy?

My initial motivation was a Biggest Loser contest at work. Any kind of competition will bring out a little extra effort in most people

That said, I have a friend who showed me a really cool idea and she's lost about 10 pounds, since doing it about 8 weeks ago.

You have to be very honest about your food you currently have. Sort the foods in your pantry and fridge by how good it really is for you. Fruits and veggies, lean meats, and low-fat yogurts in one section, things like sodas(yes even diet), puddings, butter in a section away from the healthy foods.

Print off/cut out pictures of women who are very attractively shaped(not anorexic) and adhere them in your fridge/pantry near the good stuff. Put pictures of not-so-well shaped women by the other stuff. Everytime you reach for something to eat, it forces you to think about which direction you are really headed towards. Its emphasizes that eating healthy is a lifetime journey of stopping at a fork in the road and choosing which path to take. Take the right choice.

He suffered from poverty and homelessness (Not to mention he was very lonely at school). When he was just 12 years old, Jim Carrey’s father lost his job and the family moved to canada in a run-down van with no job insight.But why am I telling you this? Well, Jim Carrey’s best form of resilience was visualisation. It was his dream to become a famous comedian, and he worked hard at it too. Fun fact: because he also suffered from dyslexia, he was uncontrollable in class, so his teacher would give him 10 minutes and the end of class to go “all-out” at the end of class, and his peers loved it. Every time he would get in trouble with his parents for making funny faces, he was sent to his room, which ment more funny faces in front of the mirror.You can apply the resilience strategy in your life too. well if u have a goal that really helps like lets say ur goal is to compete in some event like the trithalion or the strongest man or bodybuilding....what so ever, get magazines of people who have had succeeded in their career and get their programs ...their tips, their diest....and then go to the net and look for obese and sick people....look at those who's health is in it's lowest level that gives u some motivation...also make a schedual for urself u know....

How to stay motivated when everyone in my family eats unhealthy food?

First off, well done on losing some of the weight!

Now, about your problem. I know it's a hard thing to face but, if your mum is really not willing to support you and cater for your healthier diet you are just going to have to go it alone. This may well mean having to spend your own money on food and ingredients. Try are find a cookery book or some recipe collections online for healthy, low calorie yet quick and easy-to-prepare meals. It's amazing how much delicious, nutritious food takes very little preparation and after a while of getting used to cooking it'll become like second nature.

About the self control around junk food issue, I know it is difficult but you must learn to ppracticeself-motivation and self-control. A god way to go about this is setting yourself self-control exercises. For example, whilst you are sat at a desk or table, have a glass of water and a chocolate biscuit on the table next to you. Every time you are tempted to reach out for the chocolate biscuit, take a sip of water instead. If you do this sort of thing repeatedly, eventually you will increase your self control.Another tip is whenever you crave junk food and it is readily available, count to 100 and then walk away from it.

Many people ask me about it often but there is no secret about it. Simply, eat good nutritional foods, exercise daily, and sleep well at night. It means:Good nutritional foodExerciseRest wellThese basic thing but many take all kinds of diet pills and go extreme surgery, etc but they all go back to the way used to be or worse. This is the reason I tell everyone that basic mind change first and practice healthy way of life practice each day. It’ll last for the life time. Don’t be solicitated by all the junks, whatever you put in to your mouth, it’ll effects your body. Some may not show up for a long time like when you become an elderly and illness occurs due to during young age, you popped too many medications and pills. Remember this, go back to basic is the best for everyone.

How do you keep yourself motivated to eat healthy and workout?

I honestly think it depends on what moves you and it is important for you.Ask yourself:Do I care about my health?Does not taking enough good care of myself has had consequences for my health, my self-esteem, my relationship with my partner?Can I do the things that I enjoy that are physically demanding?Do I care about looking and feeling younger and sexier?Has my lifestyle affected my clothing choices? Would I like to dress differently?Will I be able to live long enough to enjoy my children and grandchildren?Do I want to become a burden to others because of my eating habits and lack of physical activity?Would my sex life improve? Is that something I want?Is eating unhealthy worth all the cost it has short and long term?Is that junk food more powerful than my will and self love?Understand that you can eat delicious healthy foods, that developing a taste for things you thought you would never try is a job you gotta take on, and that experimenting cooking new things can be fun. Involve someone close to you in your journey and make it fun for both. Remember than once you have gotten over the challenge of getting used to staying active it becomes a need to your body as much as you may “need” that slice of pizza or that bar of chocolate, that you will have more energy and will feel happier than ever.If you are spiritual think that the way you take care of your health tells about how much you really appreciate the gift of life that God gave you. Show him respect, gratitude and appreciation through taking in charge of your own health.Some people only see working on your body as a shallow thing, it depends on what place that comes from in your heart and mind.The way I see it is as if you give something very precious to your child and then you see your kid tearing apart what you gave him. How does it feel to God the harm we do to ourselves with our choices? I honestly see it from that perspective. We don’t need to be fitness models but we are certainly responsible of our health. How much different is to commit suicide than slowly killing ourselves by bad eating habits?Choose the motivation that best fits you. I hope I have contributed to get you thinking and taking on a positive journey towards a healthy lifestyle.

Can you motivate me to always exercise, stay fit, and eat healthy?

Nope.Nobody can make you change your behavior and form new habits.Nobody but you can want it enough to substitute new patterns for old.Nobody but you will be stronger, slimmer, more comfortable in your skin, and more energetic if you exercise and eat better.And you know what…it’s not even “present” you that will benefit…it is “future” you.Only “present” you can show the vision to imagine what the future rewards for exercising and healthy eating will be, see them so vividly that they seem real, and invest the energy and determination to attain them.Sorry I couldn’t help you.
