Why are customers leaving Bharti Airtel and moving to other operators like Jio?

I got my Airtel Number ported to Jio on 17th Nov’18. I think I am eligible to answer this question.Do we Indians accept change? Big No. Then why Airtel customers are shifting to Jio!!!When do we Indians change? We change when the problem is bigWe change when the problem is repeatingWe change when the problem is unattendedWe change when we feel cheated or frustrated with somethingWe change when better options are availableThese are all happening with Airtel in recent years.Their Internet speed has gone way slower. There were times where Airtel 3G itself was comparable with Jio or any other network. Now what your phone show 4G is just symbol. Speeds are poorer that 3G in year 2014There don’t really care about complaints. Because they have sufficient customer base & they are the only option(though Vodafone idea also present) left today for a user with non 4G device.Call drops are high nowadays. But comparable with Vodafone Idea. Against this Jio has made drastic improvements on this.Voice clarity has gone bad. We don’t care much even though our time is wasted in this. Because time is not cost for normal Indian. Against this Jio call clarity with just single bar is way superior.Indoor coverage is very poor compared to JioOverall against Jio their service is not at par for the money we pay. Normal Indian worries on the cost to the higher extent. It’s obvious for any human!!!You can also read my case of switching to Jio answered in quora for different question but it is most relevant to this question & help you to make decisions.Aravindan Rajamoorthy's answer to What made you happy today? - This talks about migration from Airtel to Jio after so many attempts to stay with Airtel.Your comments are welcome!

Is there any way of cancelling an Airtel booster pack?

Two months back, I had added an message booster pack. It's valid till the first week of June. Today I also added another booster combo pack, which gives me 10000 national messages free. But if I send a national sms, the balance gets reduced due to the former pack which is for local sms only. So I am not able to use the national sms pack. I don't want to continue the local sms pack. Is there any way of cancelling it?

Telus Mobility: How do you transfer a prepaid balance from one phone to another?

I got a new phone for my birthday and it's prepaid (Telus). My old Telus prepaid phone still has $60.00 of airtime on it and since I don't use it anymore, I want to transfer it to my new phone.

Unfortunately, Telus prepaid phones don't have SIM cards so I can't just swap SIM cards or anything.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Is it mandatory to do Airtel Smart recharge to avoid incoming/outgoing blockage even with sufficient balance for an active SIM?

Yes !!You can do any recharge available in the smart recharge section on official Airtel site -Rs.35, 65, 95 etc all with 28days validity. for example Recharging Rs.35 will extend your outgoing facility by 28ays and also you will get 26.66 Talk time + 100 MB data as well. Every month you have been forced to do similar recharges henceforth. This is effect of Jio, where the later also forcing you to recharge any plan to continue the 4G speed. so the incumbent players left with no choice to improve their ARPU, introduced this kind of recharge plans to continue the service. It’s simply introduced due to Jio, yes you heard right. Just to say, you “may be” again saying “may be” using Airtel as your primary number which would have been registered with banks, Aadhaar, LPG, Paytm and so on. But it might be lifetime sim card with no activity on that SIM or hardly only incoming calls. Ultimately you are not generating any income to Airtel, but only loss. How it is loss of Airtel ? Let me explain it…See, you are a airtel customer, consider you are getting atleast 5SMS/day, 3 incoming calls/day. so on an average you are getting 600sms/month & 100incoming calls/month approximately, its totally a gain for you only, whereas Airtel doesnt charge you directly for this services since it is only a incoming for you. But airtel will get paid by the Operator who has sent the call to you. to be precise say ur dad is using Vodafone and u r using airtel. He is calling you - so the call will come from vodafone to airtel switch, hence vodafone need to pay for airtel and it is ranging from 6paise to 14paise.Recently TRAI has reduced this price to 6paise/min and Airtel, vodafone, idea all had huge loss since their network need to terminate huge calls, but the originating party (say Jio) will pay lesser(6paise) than earlier(14paise), in this way Jio got huge profit & others went into huge loss. Most of us using Jio sim to make a call, For JIO sim you will be spending 150Rs/month, but Airtel ?this is the problem here, if you want to use Airtel, do smart recharge. Else port out your primary number to Jio permanently and throw out the secondary Jio sim too.thanks for reading.
