How To Take High Resolution Screenshots From Skyrim

My screen resolution won't go any lower than 1024x768 on my netbook. Is there any way to fix this?

With most of these 1024x768 screens- they can not scale lower resolutions. There are no lower resolutions with the same Aspect Ratio (height:width).Note: 1024x768 (and 10 inches) was the limit for screen resolution on early ATOM chips. Intel didn’t want to sell $30 ATOM chips and have manufacturers put them in 1920x1080p laptops and have people freak out that Intel was slow.So if you force a lower resolution, say… to play Skyrim on 800x600, you will get a floating image, and a bunch of unused screen, like this:However… you can usually tell your computer to stretch, or scale the image. Here is my Intel i5 based laptop. It’s normal resolution is 1366x76 (16:9 ratio).1366x768 Seen BelowYou can actually set it to 1024x768 (4:3) (seen below)Pretty annoying eh? Well… notice that a new option appears under SCALING (last option listed), when I drop my resolution. “Scale full screen” appears as an option above.Let’s turn on “Scale full screen”. See Below:This is the same 1024x768 image, stretched to 16:9 on my 1366x768 display. It looks better in this picture than in person. When going below 1024x768, there is likely only a few resolutions that will work. Not that you can’t try more.800x600 and 640x480 or 640x400.There IS an option to set custom resolutions- however in my experience, if it is a custom resolution- then the option to “Scale Fullscreen” will disappear from the options. Maybe someone can elaborate.

How to take high quality screenshots in Far Cry 3?

Those pictures are at a very high resolution which is why they look good.

Go into video settings and set resolution to the highest. In fraps set picture format to BMP or PNG. That should help. In general higher graphics settings = higher screenshot quality.

EDIT: Although maybe providing a sample picture of a screenshot would help me identify your issue...

EDIT V2: Have you tried maxing your graphics settings?

Skyrim Mod Help, new to modding.?

First off, for the game to look amazing outside character models you need a really powerful computer. For high-resolution textures and ENB (post-process injectors) you need a high end gaming PC or laptop. I have a feature on my site for the best mods of Skyrim. Go through each section one by one and start downloading them. Use the Nexus Mod Manager on Skyrim Nexus after you start going through my mods feature. Honestly, you literally just click the mod you want to download, it downloads in the manager, and you install it.

You also need SKSE for things like SkyUI and anything that uses scripts. You can find that in the links below as well. Skyrim is a bit complicated to mod at first, it's also VERY picky, Once you install a mod you really can't uninstall it because it leaves scripts behind in the saves and can corrupt it. You will know a save is corrupted when it crashes to the desktop while loading or gets stuck on a load screen.

Start with this: Go to my site below and hover over the Blogs section at the top, then go down to the Skyrim section. Start with Part 1 and work your way down finding mods you like.

Below that is my user profile on Skyrim Nexus of my personal screenshots for you to kind of see what to expect. Click the mountain (image) icon tab on my profile for the screenshots.

When you download SKSE READ THE README. It has install instructions. Also LAUNCH THE GAME USING THE skse_launcher.exe NOT THE ONE ON STEAM. This is important for using things like the Wet and Cold mod, SkyUI, KaceAutoLoot etc.

Once you find a mod just download the Nexus Mod Manager at the top, it will all become self explanatory trust me on this. I know this post seems kind of random, but there IS A LOT to modding Skyrim. If you want more help outside of this post here on Yahoo go the About page at the top of my site and find my email to ask further questions. I have been modding Skyrim since day 1 launch, and I am more than happy to offer further help. Also, as you can see my avatar on Yahoo is an older Skyrim character I modded.
