How To Tone Stomach Slightly

How to get a toned stomach in 6 weeks?

I'm wanting to get a belly button piercing and I also have a summer trip to the beach in about six weeks. I'm starting to eat only fish and vegetables, and I'm also going to start working out. What are some tips or at home workouts I could do to tighten/tone my tummy a little bit more? I have a little bit of a belly on my lower stomach under my belly button. It's not too much, but it does bother me. Help? And please don't say anything about the belly button piercing, I added that to show you why I want a flat stomach. Thanks!

How to tone your stomach?

jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

Can coughing slightly flatten your stomach? Or tone your abs?

I've been sick for almost a week now. I've been having coughing fits & things of the such. I swear, my stomach looks a little flatter. I mean, yea my muscles are contracted & I'm in extreme pain from all of it, but my stomach looks a little nicer.
So does coughing do any positive work on your stomach? I'm just curious.

How do i tone my stomach for a belly piercing?

I started working out Christmas Day 2009, and even though it's been five months I still don't have flat abs. I am five four, and I started out at 141 pounds. Last time I checked I dropped about eight pounds, and while I am happy with my results so far I still have a long way to go (I want to get my belly button done to). I do wii fit, wii personal trainer (EA games), I run a mile a day (I'm training for a 5k now!), and I take Zumba once a week. Unless you actually start working out you will not see a difference. Cardio is what makes the weight (and show abs) come off. Also pay attention to your eating habits, and once you do start working out don't starve yourself or you will hold onto your food because your body isn't sure when the next meal is coming. Try to eat as clean as possible, fruits, vegetables, etc. Try to find a good tattoo/piercing shop because if they don't care about parent regulations then whats to say they don't care about their needles.

How can I tighten my flabby lower stomach?

Sit ups are good but they dont always tone all of your stomach.
You can try leg lifts:
Sit upright with your back flat against the back of your chair.
Place your hands on the desk in front of you or on the seat of the chair by your legs.
Slowly lift your knees up toward your chest and hold for 5 seconds.
Then slowly lower them back down, resting your feet on the floor.
Breath out when you lift your legs up and inhale when you lower them to the floor.
In the beginning, you may find that you're only able to do a few of these. That's okay. As your abdominals get stronger, you'll be able to do more. Hang in there.
or pelvic thrusts?
Start by lying on your back with your knees bent and arms straight beside you.
Slowly lift and tilt your pelvis upward as you exhale. As you tilt your pelvis, be sure you keep your lower back on the floor so you get the most out of the movement.
Hold the movement for about 5 seconds and inhale as your relax your buttocks back down on the floor.
Do about 10 to 15 reps and take a 90 second break between sets. Perform a total of 4 sets.

I do around 350 crunches a day, will this tone my stomach a little by summertime?

If you're describing a floppy stomach, it sounds like you still have belly fat on it. If that is the case no amount of crunches will help you. You need cardio.

You see even if you don't keep your abs in shape, below a certain body fat level your abs will look flat at least (example: look at many rock stars who used drugs sadly).

But even if you have stone hard abs, if you're over a certain body fat %, the layer of abdominal fat which is virtually the last visible in the body to disappear, will still conceal them (example: many football lineman are RIPPED, you just can't see it under 2 inches of fat)

So while those crunches help with tone, to lose the flop you gotta cardio.

Aim for at least an hour a day, mid intensity. Not so hard you can't do an hour and a half if you feel up to it, but not so light that an hour of continous cardio is leaving you barely winded.

Diet will also play in. Eat fewer calories is key, but what you eat might matter. Stick to leaner meats, low fat, veges, fruits, that sort of thing. And smaller snack meals over one or two big ones.

Now sadly "by summer" depends what you mean, but if you mean by like early june you may be on a time crunch... even if you do this effectively, while you'll see results by early june you probably won't hit your target unless you shoot more realistically, say late june to mid july.

Now I'm not saying don't do crunches! Toned tummies are good. But want to lose that flop? Focus on the cardio. Run, bike, swim, but do it at an intensity you can handle for an hour to an hour and a half non stop, and eat right.

Does sucking in your stomach help tone your stomach??

one of my cheerleading coaches used to tell us to suck in our stomachs while tightening your abs just a bit while you walk and this will help build strength in your abdominal area. it's become second nature for me to walk with my stomach slightly sucked in now and i don't even notice i'm doing it! it has tightened my abs but i'm sure other exercises would give better results. sucking in your stomach a bit while you walk or jog also give you better posture.
