Turn off Notifications on facebook?
Can you turn off "your own last updates" on facebook. So that mine friends wouldn't get annoyed by every comment I make on photo, wall, note etc. So that people wouldn't see what I am doing. I want then only to get notifications when I post something "more" important such as my own note, pics etc. But not every single time I join a group, comment on note, pic, write on wall.

In November 2010, we replaced the sound on the web, coupled with an update to the iPhone application's messaging notifications. It had been generally felt that the original pop was a bit too sterile and atonal (despite the charmingly human nature of its inception). I designed a candidate set of about 20 sounds from scratch using some basic synthesis tools, from which we selected the final pling simply by auditioning them in a group, enabling them in a developer sandbox, and seeing how they felt. The sound is an inverted major arpeggio, resolving on the root note, which imbues a positive character. The tones are slightly modulated simple sine waves with a quick attack/decay envelope. The sound is clearly synthetic, but the lack of timbral complexity avoids it feeling too robotic or sci-fi.I think we succeeded in creating a sound that doesn't annoy millions of people, but could definitely stand to be improved in terms of striking the perfect balance of emotional cues. Facebook Poke Notification?
Lately, the facebook people have been changing a lot of stuff on facebook and sometimes when they do, all the notifications are automatically turned to Off. What you need to do in order to get notified when you're pokes is to go to Settings > Account Settings > Notifications and under "Facebook" there's a list of things starting with "Sends me a message". In that list, there's "Pokes me". Turn that on and you should get notifications when someone pokes you. This might sound confusing but if you follow the steps in order it'll seem simple. On your laptop or Personal Computer, you see the clock on the right-bottom of your screen, onto the left you'll see the sound icon.Right click on it > Open Volume Mixer > It'll now display the active apps which play sounds, Chrome will appear here if you play some videos from youtube or any other site. You can now mute the all sounds from browser.
