Is there a way I can easily automate a 318MHz RF device via WiFi or app (preferably through Alexa)?

Well, h0w easily (and how cheaply)?A general rule of thumb, especially with home automation, only two of the following three can be true at once:It’s easy. It’s cheap. It does not collect a creepy amount of your personal data.Of course this is not always true, but more often than not.The best compromise I have found is Home Assistant, an open source software for controlling, integrating and automating various smart home devices. It’s free (though there will eventually be an optional monthly fee for access to could services). It collects no data on you (you host the software yourself in your home, technically you don’t even need internet access for a lot of the functionality, just a local area network). It’s getting easier and easier to use, thanks to the work of some very dedicated volunteers.Besides your device, and your Amazon Echo, you would need:Raspberry Pi (I would choose the 3B+ version, just since this is the newest) + power supply.microSD card (choose a high quality, the cheap ones often become corrupted).RF transmitter or tranceiver. If you need a 318 MHz, then be sure to get this (check out this thread for an example of what you might need).OBS: If you have a remote already, you can probable hack it, and use its transmitter. Just google the specific one, and you might even find a tutorial for how to connect the remote to your Raspberry Pi.Wires to connect the transmitter/transceiver.a computer with an microSD card reader.First, you would need to set up Home Assistant (you could also look into OpenHab or domoticz to see if they could be used, I’m just more familiar with Home Assistant). You can choose your installation method. I’m a huge fan of Docker. In any case, don’t choose Hass.io, since I don’t think you can integrate the RF transmitter easily (unless someone has made an add-on that I’m not aware of).Add Alexa to your configuration. You can also expose Alexa through the “homeassistant cloud” for easy setup, but you can choose a few other options as well, depending on your preferences and how worried you are about privacy. You can do loads of things with Alexa in Home assistant, such as fairly complex custom commands. Then just follow this video tutorial (it’s for a 433 Mhz switch, but using a 418 MHz transmitter, you should be able to copy the setup used here):
