How To Win Truancy Court

Do they drug test you at court for truancy?

im going to answer your question but First, my question for you is,.....why are you even smoking weed? its not cool and it CAN , not will, ruin your life....and you're 14...you have a lot of life ahead of you, so why are you wasting it smoking????

But my answer to your question would be yes. truancy is punishable by law and most everything punishable by law requires a drug test.

But I think you should get 6 months probation because it would do you some good. Random drug tests ...you'll hate them at first, but then you'll look back and think...why the hell did i even do that...so...yeah..

How can I win in Truancy Court in Garland Texas?

You cannot win in court because their job is to seperate you from your money, not help the kids or find justice. Your only option is to get the school to remove them from your sons record. Find a way to get a doctors note for his absence day, it dosent have to be a medical doctor legally, just someone with a doctorate degree. As far as the tardies, here is what I have found, but am going to see an atty to make sure. http://www.schoollawsection.org/attendance.html says "Contrary to popular belief, tardiness does not equal an unexcused absence. The Attorney General has concluded that tardiness to class generally does not constitute an “unexcused voluntary absence” for which truancy charges may be brought. However, the Attorney General noted that circumstances may exist where the tardiness is so egregious as to constitute an unexcused voluntary absence.54" Good luck. Youll need it.

How can I win a truancy case?

Okay my son has missed a lot of days of school... just yesterday the school counseler told him he was a Continuing truant and that he could go to court! I am afraid that were going to have to go to court.. But part of the reason why is that, the school STOPPED calling our home about his absences and so we THOUGHT that they werent keeping track.

HELP ME PLEASE!

How do you win a court trial?

Your question is kind of vague, and I must suggest that you should be more specific, since many many cases go to trial, in many different forms of law. There is a saying that an attorney whom represents himself in court has a fool for a client. This is true on many levels. The rules of evidence, is something a person might not know. Even if you do, you may not know the proper method or paperwork needed to present the evidence required. The judges will usually try this case perfectly against you, in the event you lose, then appeal your case. The best way to win a trial, if you represent yourself is to avoid trial in the first place. Plea bargain, or settle out of court if in a civil case.Last, but not least…..especially for you sovereign citizen badtards. DO NOT USE THOSE STUPID TACTICS YOU THINK IS LAW…..THEY DO NOT WORK!!!!!

What will happen with truancy court for the second time?Plz answer.?

Ever been to court for anything else? If so expect a problem. If not...

At this point they are mostly concerned about finding some way to get you to go to school. I doubt that they will do much more than order you to attend and set a standard for how much you can miss. They might actually hook you up with a counselor or social worker. I expect you will be on probation and if you miss school then you might actually be put into Juviw for a awhile. But they would rather find a way to deal with this that isn't so expensive and ultimately not productive.

But you DO have to find a solution to this problem, because if they bring you back in a year or so it will be serious business. For one thing in Cali they will take your Driver License for a year if you are a habitual truant, and another year every time they bring you back. And they CAN put your folks in jail! (Yes really, there is a kid whose parents are taking turns serving sentences beacuse their daughter didn't go to school and the judge said the parents weren't trying hard enough....180 days each...)

No guarantees here, but they are mostly going to try to see if there is any reasonable explanation and again, the whole purepose is to find a way to get you into school. And you KNOW you need to do school.

How do I fight an unfair truancy ticket at court?

i got a truancy ticket from an officer just a couple days ago, but i wasn't absent to any of my classes and i have proof. i stepped out of my school campus, because i heard that my car had been vandalized and simply went to go check. my car had been keyed and i got into my car and moved it into the parking lot and the officer seen me driving, but he was giving a ticket to another student. so i stepped back into school to report it and when i was in the office he pulled me out and started to ask why was i out of school, i explained my situation and told him that my car had been vandalized, that it had been keyed and tagged on with shoes polish, i told him i went to go wash it off, but when i said wash it off i think he understood that i went to the car wash, which i did not, i simply got some rag from my trunk and took it off, at no point did i take off in my car and go to a car wash, i explained my situation, but he did not care. he handcuffed me for detainment and gave me a truancy ticket. i want to fight it, what should i do? i've never been arrested or been to court, this is my first time. i have evidence that i was in class, a copy of my attendence for that day, i am also going to receive two letters of support explaining my situation, one from my principle and another from a teacher, i am also going to provide pictures of the vandalizm. is this enough, what other steps should i take.?

How are schools dealing with truancy?

My school took an unusual approach to truancy. They made it very difficult to get in trouble and made it impossible for students to fail classes. My school was all about getting good numbers to get better government funding. Some of their approaches, however, were morally questionable. The first approach they did was getting rid of as many rules as possible (ie. cell phones are now allowed in class) and stopping the enforcement of most rules. The idea of this was that if students could do what they want, they will show up to school and the school, as a result, will look better. This means you could deal drugs in front of a teacher and the teacher can’t do anything. I saw it happen many times. It also meant that you can wonder the halls all day and nobody would say anything to you.The second approach was making it impossible to fail. Students could blatantly cheat and even if they got caught suffered no penalty other than redo the assignment. Students could also refuse to take tests for months and when they do take them get full credit. One of my teachers said he would get messages from administration saying you need to pass all of your students no matter what happens. Not sure if any of this worked.

What are the punishments in truancy in Tennessee?

is it possible that the following are actual punishments in TN for truancy:

1 or 2 parents in jail & live w. a family member.

have to go to summer school - but my grades are fine...

have a police officer come in the mornings to make sure I definitely make it to school no matter what - unless I'm puking my brains out.

have to take some big test that proves I've learned something despite my absences.

have to go to a special studying camp or something - I don't know why I thought of that...

be super-fined and then having something else bad happen .

are any of these punishments ?
if so, which ones ?!

p.s., i'm wondering what i should say to the people as I have absolutely no good reason for being absent all those days. and also, i wasn't even absent the maximum days, but just under it!

How do I prepare to win legal arguments in courts?

First, go to law school, so that you can learn the fundamental principles of law and legal process. Then, find a master litigator with a history of winning legal arguments in court, and observe how he or she does it. Ideally, get a job working as one of his or her associates, and convince him or her to train you in those same strategies.Ultimately, litigation is a form of social engineering, and so to be successful at it you must learn to be a keen observer of human behavior, and learn how to manipulate other humans to do what you want them to do. This isn’t something you can learn quickly.
