How Were The Houses Of Catal Huyuk Different From The Most Houses At Time

Can time difference between two places be greater than 24 hours?

Yes, there are a few such places. Imagine two places close to, but on either side of, the international date line. They are nominally 23 hours apart. If they don't talk to, or do business with each other, that's OK. But if they do communicate with each other there's a slight problem. Being 23 hours different is just like being 1 hour different - when it's 7pm for one, it's 8pm for the other just like any pairs in adjacent zones - with a big distinction. When it's 7pm in one, it's 8pm in the other the day before.Rome is an hour ahead of London. If I want to call a business in Rome, I just have to allow for the fact that their office will close an hour before mine - ringing at 4:30pm my time will mean I miss them. But now imagine the date issue - I can't call them on Monday at all, because over there it's still Sunday! My my office is closed for the weekend on their Friday! As a result, some countries with important trade neighbours have elected to "bend the rules" of time zones and go outside the GMT +/- 12 hours scheme.

Catal huyuk government?

Need help!! Catal Huyuk?

Catal Huyuk was settlement of some of the earliest farmers in Europe. People who lived in tells (settlement mounds) like Catal at this time generally practised a similar economy based around agriculture and animal husbandry. I'm not sure of the details of Catal but I'm almost certain they grew wheat, and probably other varieties like barley. They would have also herded animals most likely cattle and sheep and/or goats.

I haven't read the Wiki article but I would be surprised if it didn't give information on the economy - although Catal is generally more famous for its well preserved stratigraphy, including some fascinating temples in the base of the mound.

They undoubtedly did speak a language but I don't think we have any information on what that was.

Cambridge University are currently engaged in a long term project at Catal, I know they have their own page on the project, you can find more info there.

BTW This question should be in the History/Archaeology section! :)

Which is NOT a similarity between the communities of Catahuyuk and Jericho?

I am not all the familiar with the period but I'd guess it was 'd'. Many neolithic peoples practiced a cult of the dead or ancestor worship, hence the bodies under the floors. They certainly had tools and most of these kind of artifacts were traded about.

Anything about Catalhoyuk? Catal Huyuk?

Catalhoyuk, which is in modern-day Turkey, is the oldest remnant of a city, ever found. It dates to about 10,000 years ago...

The reason it's not compatible with Christianity, is because Orthodox Christians believe that the world was only created 6,012 years ago, which disallows the developmental evolution of Mankind, which Catalhoyuk clearly represents, as obvious evidence...

Why did Allah design female bodies to menstruate and then forbid women from entering the mosque, touching the Quran and circling the Kaaba during menstruation? Why does Allah find female vaginal blood offensive?

Some historians have speculated that in ancient times, prior to the rise of monotheistic faiths, women were celebrated and worshiped for their magic of giving birth. People were no more foolish then than now and knew pregnancy was caused by sexual intercourse, but they also knew that sexual relations alone could not guarantee the births needed to maintain the family and tribe.Clearly some divine power was at work. The various Neolithic “Venus” figurines found across Europe hint at this mystical feminine power, as do murals found at Catal Huyuk. Menstruation is yet another example of this unique female ability: to bleed without being cut, and to magically heal.Later, as masculine sky deities replaced the worship of the feminine, male authorities sought to confine women, fearing their power. Women were given places to retire during their cycles and space from the community.Islam is among the most recent of the dominant world faiths and encompasses stories, prophets, and traditions from earlier faiths. This is why Christians and Jews are called People of the Book. The prohibitions mentioned in the question stem from these and other earlier traditions.I would never presume to speak for God, but many men do not hesitate to attribute their own words and prejudices to the Almighty. Sometimes these traditions take on a life of their own, separate from what prophets and wiser leaders have dictated.Listen to your elders, follow your heart, but ponder carefully what Allah has asked, and what men have decreed. There is often a difference between the words of men and God.
