I want to get a Rottweiler. I have done my research and understand they are territorial and protective. I have owned a German shepherd mix who was very dominant, so I think I can handle a rotting. I go hiking a lot. Would a rottweiler be ok off leash? Would it be aggressive with other hikers we come across on the trail? I plan on socializing it a lot by taking it to parks to be around people and dogs and by throwing a small party so he can get used to other people being in the house.
