Hp Laptop Dual External Monitors

How can I use 2 external monitors on my HP Elitebook 8640p?

I have an Elitebook 8570 also with docking station. I use my laptop display and a second monitor for dual displays but have had 2 external monitors hooked up to the dock before. All you need to do is get a DVI cable (it's the other slots with the white) And be sure to have a monitor with DVI. Most new monitors have VGA and DVI.

All you do is hook them up and turn them on Windows should recognize them. If not do Windows Key + P and choose extend displays.

If I connect a 768p laptop to an external 1080p monitor, what resolution will the monitor display: 768p or 1080p?

It depends. If you choose to mirror the main display, showing the same content on both screens, the monitor will display 768p. The content will be scaled up to 1080p, either by the monitor or the computer, but it will still have the lower number of pixels. On some computers and OSes you will have the option of instead running the laptop display at 1080p to match the external monitor. That will be done either by scaling what you see on the laptop screen (which will generally lead to an ugly display there but the external display will be fine), or by the laptop display serving as an automatically scrolling window on the larger desktop. If you use the second display independently (typically as an extension of the desktop), showing different content on each, it will normally run at its native 1080p resolution. You can choose other resolutions in display settings but running at the native resolution will usually look best.

What is the optimal size and resolution for a dual external monitor setup on a 4K laptop?

I have 2x Dell UltraSharp U2515Hx - 25″ and 2560x1440p each. Substantally more pixels than 2x 24″1920x1200p I had before, and more comfortable to work with vs. 2x 27″ panels that simply get too wide.Windows 10 seem to scale fine with them - but this is personal preference. I don’t like 4K when working with CAD / 3D Modelling or graphic programs, as buttons get too small even on some apps that supposedly are “high-pixel-density aware”.I use them on a desktop, but…same difference. The amount of pixels on these 2x 1440p panels are very close to a single 4K, so I would not expect greatly different performance for office & design work.

Laptop dual monitor setup?

You can activate the internal monitor of a laptop AND one external monitor together. That's done by setting the Display control panel to Extended desktop. The screens can then display different windows, for instance a web browser on one and MS Office on the other. You simply slide the mouse pointer from one screen to the next.

Dedicated desktop video cards can usually handle 2 monitors. Some desktops have integrated (non-card-based) graphics that have two monitor connections, but that's not always the case.

Laptop screen goes blank when I plug in an external monitor?

Find the blue "Fn" key on your keyboard, usually at the bottom near the space bar. Then find the blue "Monitor mode" key towards the top..... it usually shares a button with one of the "F" keys and the icon is usually something like two rectangles.

Hold down the Fn key and tap the MonitorMode key and it will change modes. In most systems there are three modes available: "External Monitor Only," "Internal Monitor Only," and "Both monitors." Just keep tapping the key until it scrolls to the correct mode.

What adapter do I need to connect external monitors to Lenovo Yoga 910 laptop?

The Yoga 910 has a USB type C port (no HDMI ports). I purchased two brand new HP 23er monitors that have HDMI and VGI ports on the back. I ve done an extensive amount of research on what splitter/adapter device I need to purchase and I m coming up empty. However, I have seen plenty of documentation stating that external monitors can be connected.

I ve purchased three different adapters on Amazon and none of them have worked. None have even recognized that an external monitor is connected. Below are the adapters that I ve purchased:

How can I connect my MacBook Air to 2 external monitors?

Assuming you do not have 2 thunderbolt displays to daisy chain, it is still very much possible to connect to two regular HDMI monitors. To accomplish this, you will need the following:1 HDMI to Mini-Displayport cable (AmazonBasics Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 6 Feet Amazon.com: AmazonBasics Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 6 Feet: Computers & Accessories)1 HDMI to HDMI cable (AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable - 6 Feet (Latest Standard) Amazon.com: AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable - 6 Feet (Latest Standard): Home Audio & Theater)1 HDMI to USB adapter (Cable Matters USB 3.0 to HDMI DVI Adapter for Windows and Mac up to 2560x1440 / 1920x1200 (103046) - Black Amazon.com: Cable Matters USB 3.0 to HDMI DVI Adapter for Windows and Mac up to 2560x1440 / 1920x1200 (103046) - Black: Computers & Accessories)Connect the HDMI end of cable #1 to your primary external monitor and its other end to the Mini-Displayport on your Macbook Air.Connect the HDMI end of cable #2 to your secondary external monitor and its other end to the HDMI-USB adapter. Install the appropriate video drivers for the adapter based on the manufacturer’s instructions. Connect the USB end of the adapter in any open USB slot directly on your Macbook Air.It is important to note that the USB monitor should be used with your secondary display as the Macbook Air will use the CPU, not the GPU, to render video on it, and you may face some lag. There you have it. Now, you can use your Macbook Air in a dual monitor or triple monitor setup, depending on your preference.

Is Dell Latitude 3540 BTX able to connect to 2 external monitors? Want dual displays that are same size. Do I need certain adapter / cable?

I currently use the laptop display and have a 24" external monitor connected. I use extended display. I would like to connect a 2nd 24" monitor to the laptop and just use the 2-24" monitors. It is my understanding that it is able to connect this way, but I'm not sure which cables/adapters I would need to make this work.
