Hyundai Sonata not starting with no oil in engine?

So, my oh-so-smart neighbor has a 2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 that will no longer start. She ran it very low on gas the other day and was afraid she wouldn't make it from home to the gas station (about two miles away) so I had AAA come deliver two gallons of gas. Now the car won't start at all. When I checked the oil, I found she has almost no oil in the engine at all because she hasn't gotten the oil changed.

It's completely her fault for running it so low on oil and gas, but aside from it being a possible fuel pump issue, is it possible for a car to just no longer start after running fine without oil? I'm gonna dump a few quarts in later tonight to see if maybe it'll help it, but I wanted to know if maybe anyone else had any suggestions as to what may be wrong or to how to get it started. The car has 82,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Hyundai alarm wont turn off--can't start car!?

If your alarm is factory-installed, first, you will need to insert the key in the ignition in the "ON" position. Leave it there and wait until the alarm stop sounding. It may take between thirty seconds and one-and-a-half minute.

Second. Once the alarm stop, turn the key to the left like if you were going to take it out, but don't remove the key.

Third. Wait Exactly 10 seconds and turn the car on.

This will disable the alarm until it is engaged again using the remote.

What causes the check engine light to come on in a Hyundai Sonata?

I’ll give you the answer which goes out for all vehicles. This light doesn’t specify the nature of the problem. It just indicates that something is wrong with the engine. It can be related to emission, exhaust system, loose gas cap, or even failed spark plugs. Engine is the heart of a car. Just like with a human heart, all kinds of issues within other organs can affect its functionality. Not all of these repairs are expensive. But you won’t know exactly where the problem lives until you visit the mechanic.Depending on the type of fault, this light can be flashing, steady, or even different colors like the traffic-lights.If the light is flashing, find an exit, stop the car and call a mechanic or a towing service, because you won’t be able to solve this on your own, and it’s usually a more serious issue that can cause damage if you continue to drive for too long. If it’s on solid, either amber or red, make an appointment to have it looked at as soon as possible. There is only one engine light and if you leave it too long you won’t know if something else is going wrong in addition to the original cause that turned the light on first.I hope it helps. Why won't my car start after fixing a broken serpentine belt?

Ok so first question is the starter rotating the motor like it should and it just wont start or are you turning the key without getting any results. If its not turning over id first off hit the starter solenoid with a soft hammer a few good raps may dislodge a stuck solenoid. Now if the motor is spinning but not firing up my first place id look is the distributor wiring unless it runs coil packs then i would guess that you knocked the wires off the crank sensor or maybe even broke the crank sensor. I am at a disability here not knowing what the vehicle make is., if it died while driving because belt fell off and you ran on battery till it ran out of power. ( a jump start is the ticket in that case ) Honestly im going with the crank sensor or crankshaft position sensor.being the root of your problem because if the belt broke it could easily take out the sensor as belt flew around the front of the motor. But check all your connections and research the crank sensor ..its usually a cheap and easy part to replace if its in a area where belt passes by it that makes sense as to your problem. Ok let me know a bit more info if possible. Dont give up the answer will come

Where is the transmission control module located on a 01 hyundai sonata gls?

It is located behind the interior trim panel to the immediate right of the gas pedal (under the dash, more or less). Should only be a few phillips head screws holding the trim panel on. Lots of wires under there - be sure if you change it out to make notes where they are placed (not sure if the plugs are different).

I think you will have a hard time finding an electrical part like this at a junkyard, but there's no harm in trying. You will need to know the engine size, A/T or M/T, with or without traction control.

Car wont go faster than 20 mph?

Sounds like a blown head gasket that is letting water into the fuel mixture. Are you losing coolant? That would happen in this case. Check if the white smoke is actually steam. Not sure about the sparks.
Repairing this is going to be expensive. The car continues to run on water vapor even after the fuel pump is shut off. Sorry.

Will a car jump start with a bad starter?

How to Start a Car with a Bad Starter? The tips described below are the best possible ways to instill life into a dead starter. Try them one by one until you find a solution.Check the ConnectionsThe starter is an electric motor and a part of an electrical circuit. It sets the engine of a vehicle in motion. So, the engine won’t respond if there is an issue with the battery or the connections. Check the joint of all the connecting cables between the battery and the starter. Tighten everything because a loose connection means less flow of current to the starter.Check the starter for loose connections.Clean the CorrosionCorrosion could also be the culprit in obstructing the flow of electrical current. The dirt and grease can accumulate on the starter and the battery, and corrode the cable clamps and terminals of the battery. If this is the case, disconnect the battery and use a fine-grade sandpaper to clean the affected areas. It will remove the dirt, stain, and rust. If the corrosion seems pretty stubborn, apply a mixture of water and caustic soda. Be careful about not to damage any connections.SEE MORE:5 Things to Check for Car Hard Starting ProblemsHow to Diagnose an Engine that Doesn’t Start?Tap with a ToolIt’s another simple trick to the manual of how to start a car with a bad starter. If the starter is dead but the windshield wipers and headlights are working, the problem could be a stuck gear. The starter cannot function properly if that happens.Give the starter a tap about 4 to 5 times with a tool such as a hammer or a wrench. You have to carefully locate its position inside the car and distinguish it from other components. Besides, the taps should be gentle so that the part is not damaged.Tapping the starter with a hard tool might be effective.Sometimes, this method works even if the starter is actually bad. In that case, tapping will provide a temporary fix but the car could be dying anytime soon.Give the Car a Good ShakeIt’s another trick to release a stuck gear. However, you should do it only when you are a noob and don’t have the expertise to open the hood and locate the starter. Push down the vehicle’s handbrake lever while it is in top gear. It will rock the car and may loosen the jammed gear in the process.Ref: Find best deals of used cars from reliable Japanese sellers
