I Am A 6th Grader And I Want To Prep To Become A Cheerleader In High School. Any Tips

High School Study Tips?

I am going to start my freshman year of high school in a couple days, and i am planning to try really hard this year and the next three. Any study tips , homework , schedule , sleeping advice you can give me ? Much thanks .

What are some things I can do as a high school sophomore to secure a successful future life?

Study your lessons. You want to be able to qualify for those top colleges. Education is the key to a successful life.

My 8th grade daughter wants to try out for her high schools dancing team. Should I let her?

No, you should continue to micromanage her interests and suffocate her curiosity, as well as seek vague advice in response to vague questions.Of course you should let her try out for something that she's interested in. If you have a legitimate concern that would be another story, but you didn't indicate anything regarding that in the question, so I can only assume that you're trying to push her in the direction that you want to see her go in, rather than the one she wants to go in. Don't make that mistake, especially at this delicate age. You should be supporting her interests and allowing her to try out things that she's interested in, as well as reminding her that her dependency on you to help her make these decisions can't last forever, and that she has to eventually become self sufficient. Deciding whether or not this is a good choice for her is most definitely the wrong thing for you to do. If you have a concern about it, you need to sit down with her and express your thoughts, and listen to her answer and treat her as an adult. If there is no real concern and you just don't think it's right for her, then she's going to rebel against you in some fashion and probably join it anyways. Avoid yourself the awkward power struggle between adolescence and parenthood, and treat her like an adult.

What is the hardest and easyest thing about middle school?

Worst parts:
1. You'll find yourself running into the stereotypical kids--jock, prep, geek, loser, goth, you name it. Middle school is the time of your life where you’ll be labeled! This label will most likely stick with you through high school.

2. Then you’ll run into bullies and spend all your time trying not to get your butt kicked.

3. Oh and don’t forget how you’ll find yourself trying to impress a certain someone, and then unless you’re someone “important” (see: jock or cheerleader), you’ll get shut down.

4. You’ll spend way too much money and time trying to hide your acne covered face.

5. You’ll dress yourself in trendy clothes. Looking back after 10 years, you’ll wonder why you even bothered.

6. Those awful, cheesy school dances. If you actually get a date, you’ll feel the awkwardness of not knowing what to do/say. If you don’t have a date, you’ll just stick out like a sore thumb.

7. Sometimes you'll have a cool teacher but most of the time you'll get some out of touch ****** teacher. And by most of the time, I mean count on 98% of all the teachers you'll encounter will be on some kind of superiority complex.

8. You can almost always count on the school's A/C breaking when it's hot outside and the heater fagging out in the winter.

9. You'll ride on an overcrowded school bus.

Easiest part:
1. The easiest part of middle school is probably the school work itself. Unless you're a complete idiot who can't BS your way through school to save your life. BS-ing your way is a skill, sometimes acquired, sometimes natural, but it definitely can help you live life to the fullest.

Just remember, sports and living off your parent's money only goes so far. It's funny running into kids (the jerks) you knew back in middle/high school and see that look in their eyes of them trying to relive their old glory days. The winning touchdown that let them run the school, and now no one remembers but them. Most likely, they had blown off the education aspect of school and can’t get a job at anything other than minimum wage.

"High school (or middle school, in this case) leaves scars that last long after graduation day."

School Organization Tips?

I am a 10th grader and I need advice on organization tips. What school supplies should I buy for this year. I am trying to NOT use an extreme amount of binders. This year I am taking AP Humanities(English& social studies), Biology, Alegebra 2, Spanish 3, Speech Comm., and Art. My goal is to maintain a 4.0, so any advice for these classes, school supplies, etc. Thanks to all of you.!
