I Am A Quadroon 1/4 Black - What Ethnicity Do I Look

What do Quadroon people tend to look like?

This isn't always the case sometimes you can't tell that they are mixed because they have 3 white grandparents and only 1 black grandparent which means they have more European ancestors. Some will look more European. This is my nephew he is blonde and blue eyed. My father, his paternal grandfather is black Carribean.Wentworth Miller. On paternal side one African-American grandparent.Mariah Carey one African-American grandparent paternal side.Eartha Kitt mixed race and her daughter who is quater black.Jade Goody. Paternal grandfather black Carribean.Amanda Meeling has one Nigerian grandparentNichole Richie (adopted) natural grandfather was African-AmericanRyan Giggs the footballer has one grandparent from Sierra Leone.Stephen Graham who starred in This is England has one black Jamaican grandparent.

Quadroon and Black Babies!?

Assuming you to be 100% black, and your husband 25% black, your children will be 5/8 black and 3/8 white. That makes them a Malato because they are 50% or greater black blood mixed with some other blood.

If you are Caramel colored, you are not full bloodied black. If you were full bloodied black, you would be very black in color. Look at the pictures of Africans. There are no caramel colored Africans. To get the caramel color you must have blood from a lighter skinned person. Almost all American Blacks have some European blood to get the lighter skin tones they have.

Quadroons and Octoroons (black and white mixed)?

When someone is 1/4 Black, it really depends on genetics. Some people who are 1/2 Black 1/2 White come out looking more White, so if they were to have kids with someone White, the child would look basically 100% White, even though they are 1/4 Black (which is a significant percentage). It also can work where the child looks more Black and if they have a child with a White person, the child would probably have very light/fair skin, but maybe some Black features or just a look that you can tell they're mixed with *something*.

This is Jael from America's Next Top Model, Cycle 8. She's is 1/4 Black but you could never tell:

However, Halle Berry's daughter is 1/4 Black and she obviously looks mixed:

Once people get into being 1/8 Black, it's not obvious but then again genetics play in. Most 1/8 people look 100% White, but a few may have wavy or curly hair or even a little color to their skin.

Is there any noticeable difference between a quadroon or octoroon and a white person?

Yes here are some photos of each.White personMulatto(assuming you mean black and white 1/2 black)quadroon ( the child of a white person and mulatto, 1/4 black )Octoroon( 1/8 black)This is a possible array of looks, assuming that each generation mixes with white. And yes there are many variations of each. For exampleDarnell MartinBiracial( black father white mother)Hallie Berry biracialBlack father white mothermariah CareyQuadroon (biracial father white mother)Hallie berry's daughter, nala( biracial mother, white father)OctoroonQuadroons and octoroons can also have black fathers or mothers( or other races) as a matter of fact most African Americans are quadrooos or octoroons (1/4 or 1/8 white ancestry).

Would you consider a quadroon mixed race?

obama's kids are not quadroons...it DOESN'T go the other way around. People of 1/4 White heritage are refered to as "griffe" but that term is hardly used anymore, since the average black person is about 20% White and so it would mean just about everybody.

And yes, I consider quadroons mixed-race because one of their parents isn't White or of mostly White heritage. However, anything less than a Quadroon is White.

Mulatto father, quadroon son?

He's white, why would he be black if just 1/4 of him is black.

[Just like if a black person was 1/4 white, he would be considered black. (Malcolm X is an example)]

OR you can go by his appearance, does he look more black or more white?

What does a person who’s 3/4 black and 1/4 white look like?

Unless they were born with a congenital condition, I would expect them to have two eyes, a nose, two ears, and a mouth. There would presumably be hair on their head, although they may not have much (or any) of that depending on their age or personal style. They would then have what’s known as a torso. This will typically have two arms coming off it (one on each side, by the way, that’s important), and a hand at the end of each arm. Below the torso will then be two further limbs, known as legs. These will end in feet.

Is the word "quadroon" racist and offensive towards mixed race people who are approximately 1/4 black and 3/4 white?

Is the word "quadroon" racist and offensive towards mixed race people who are approximately 1/4 black and 3/4 white?Hmmm? I don't know. Let's examine this together, I'll relate a story and you tell me.My family were Slaves in Charlottesville, VA….Albemarle County actually. At the Hall of Records for Albemarle County in Charlottesville, they have amazingly well preserved records that include the Auctions and Sales of Slaves. I would have used “Humans”, but the sale of “Humans” was illegal, So, Slaves were not considered to be human. But I digress. Included amongst these records of Slave sales are descriptors which identify the Slave(s) being sold. Verbiage used on a Bill of Sale reads like this;“sale of the nigger bitch “Nikki” from James Smith to John Brown, for the sum of…”Often the word “nigger” would be replaced by “octoroon”, “mulatto”, and yes, “quadroon”. It would go on to describe relative age, type of work the Slave was good for, and whether the Slave had a “family” that they were likely to try and escape to see.The point here is that “quadroon” was used to describe someone that was not considered to be human, but something less; chattel, something to be owned and traded. Is this Racist?Actually, it's something worse.

Quadroons, and the misconception of being "pure White"?

Why is there a misconception that pretty much all African Americans are mixed with some White blood, but not vice versa? White Americans are just as much mixed as Black Americans. Terms like mulatto, quadroon & octoroon were used to classify a person who was ¼ Black & 1/8 Black respectively. Simply said, back in the day, if you had 1 drop of black blood, you were black and most Whites wouldn’t want to have anything to do with you. I’ve heard the story of a young woman who was “White”, and was dating a White guy. But when he found out more about her roots (her maternal great grandmother was Black), he despised her and never spoke to her again. A quadroon would look a bit like Mariah Carey, or Soledad O’Brien’s children. They can definitely pass for White. Usually I can tell when someone is a quadroon; their hair usually says it all. It’s usually a bit poofy and has a crimpy look to it. They features are a bit africanoid/Moorish but not too much, and their skin is usually an olive color.
So my question is; does society know that white Americans are just as much mixed as black Americans? Especially Whites from the southern states like Louisiana, most of them have Black grandparents. I hear so many people still talk about being “Pure White”, and it seems that Blacks easily accept the fact that they have a mixed background. But I have not met many whites who feel the same. They usually deny it and try to make it seem impossible. It’s very possible. I’m just wondering how the world feels about this
