Yes, if you are a Govt.employee and your wife was also in Govt. service. You may opt in your name or children name. The children will automatically debarred by attaining the age of 25 yrs or before getting any job. The best option is you, yourself opt for family pension. Up to next seven yrs you will get full pension and later on 50% from the spouse death and you will get till you alive. The condition is this that you cannot merry again.
Why and how are government employees getting huge money after retirement?
There are 3 type of retirement benefits. One is called gratuity. 15 days salary for each year of service is paid as gratuity.for example if an employee served for 30 years .his last salary is 80000.He will get 80000x30/2 =1200000 as gratuity. Second is paid or earned leave encasement.the leaves not taken by an employee is paid in cash to him. If this employee has 300 leaves balance in his ac he will get extra 80000x300/30.=800000.third is called commutation .An employee is paid 40% of his 12years pension in advance. This is deducted from his pension in future with interest.this may sum app to gratuity.the provident fund deposited by him is also paid to him let it be 1000000.This way he will get approximate 40 lakh.

Why is it so hard to fire a US Government employee?
I recently started working as a US Govt contractor and keep hearing the sayings and expressions over and over again about how direct Govt employees can't be fired or how difficult it is to do so? I even hear this from the Govt employees themselves. They told me if their department REALLY wants to fire them they assign them a task they know the person can't accomplish to justify the termination. Why the farce? Why all the trouble? If I didn't do my job as a contractor I'd get a few writeups and warnings first, then I'd be fired. Same with most other jobs. Can't government employees be written up? If they accumulate a bunch of writeups and their behavior doesn't change can't they be fired? Why not? Does it have to do with Veteran's preference and all that? I'm a vet myself but if I was goofing off on any job I'd expect I'd be fired eventually.

My mom isnt a drug user either. She is on pain meds due to degenerative disk disease. She doesnt take the dosage or the style of dose that DSS has claimed under oath in court. Her husband has the disease as well and also has diabetes. THey used that against them in court to persuade the judge not to allow them to take temporary custody of my child. They family that has my child, is my girlfriends mom's adopted sister and her husband. THe woman lost custody of her child when she was young, and her husband has severe diabetis but doesnt take care of himself. We went to visit our son, who was born a month premature, in their home and seen that the man was smoking not even 5 feet from him. They were hatching chickens in the house, (bird flu is out again); which is why i was concerned. The next week, my girlfreind went and witnessed when she walked through the door that our son was left unattended on a changing table with a wet diaper and asleep. The man was in the kitchen.
