I Am Going On A Cruise And I Would Like To Use My Phone For Alarm. I Do Not Want Anyone Txting Or

Can you have your phone on a ship or submarine while in the US Navy?

Yes!You won't be making phone calls with it, though. For obvious reasons. However, I always had my phone with me underway, and often times in port. It was perfectly allowed.I couldn't bring it into my work center, but that's because nuclear reactor stuff is classified and they didn't want to risk people taking pictures. But I did use it for a variety of things, still. Alarm clock? Check. Calculator? Check. Games? Check. E-reader? Check. Music? Check.Just about any non-internet based app is still quite useful. But mostly as an alarm clock. That's like a universal thing for sailors these days.

Do you think you could go one week without using your cellphone?

No sweat. In fact, I’d love that. The only reason I have a cell phone that works is due to people around me giving me pity hand-me-down phones!I have a love hate relationship with them. I have ADD, fairly functional but unmedicated, and am notoriously living in the moment aka late to everything after the now. Having a phone with a mizillion alarms on it has helped me keep track of time a bit better and alert partner and kids of any delays/sidetracks/cancellations and such. I still miss school pickup regularly, and let’s not talk about drop off, but at least know I am AWARE that I’m late?! The map doodad also helps me out of a few pickles, because sometimes/often I leave the house without a clear notion of where I’m supposed to go/be. I wing it a lot but now if it gets dire I can look it up and get directions. When speaking with someone, I hate having it nearby and go long stretches of time without looking at it whenever I can. My former boss couldn’t stop checking and responding to every single thing that came in, even during meetings. It was insane. The irony is that work now requires that I have a separate cell phone so now I carry and try to ignore two of them as shackles instead of just one! Yuck!

How does the flight crew know if your phone is in airplane mode?

In fact, it’s less for their comfort than yours, that the airplane mode exists. In fact, there isn’t really any chance your phone will interfere with plane’s flight instruments.Scenario if you enable your airplane mode (let’s say your battery is at 100% when you take off) :You will continue to use it normally with battery lasting a little longer than normal; If you put it in your pocket, chances are that when you will land, and pick it up, the battery level will sensibly be the same.Scenario if you decide to be a badass and not activate it (let’s say your battery level is at 100% when you take off):If you continue to use it, you will probably (never tried it) experience lagging and see the battery level flying away;If you put it in your pocket, chances are that when you will land, and pick it up, the battery level will be really low, or simply empty, which means you’ll need to find a charger somewhere; You will tell yourself “Why haven’t I been intelligent and put the phone in airplane mode while I was in the plane?” and you will want to slap yourselfIt can be explained simply because you will fly probably fast, and your phone will get out of the signal range of the original cellular tower it was linked with. It will then try to link to other towers, but you fly fast, so it will be constantly attempting to link to towers in the range unsuccesfully, therefore draining battery really fast. I know, I don’t explain it really well, but at least it’s simple.

How do I stop my narcissist ex-husband from stalking me? He knows where I go for trips, drives past my house, does minor property damage, etc. I have tried getting a PPO but have been told I don't have enough evidence. Mind you, he's remarried.

I'm sorry im about to give my first thought then a real answer. 1st thought that popped in was…stalk him back. Hard for someone to sneak up on you when your standing right behind them.Ok, now…how do you know he drives by? Do you see his car ( buy a cheap motion camera or video the street) also if you have enough of them around your home, they will record the damage he does. How do you know he knows where your at? Do you see him? Use your cellphone to video him and just act like your texting. Does he call? There are apps that record calls.Be proactive about getting evidence on him to get a PPO but realize its only a piece of paper. Its not going to protect you or stop him if he thinks he can get away with things. If your frightened of him..make sure your safety is on your mind at all times…Security alarms, people with you, being in crowds not isolated and alone, self-defense classes/ carry and conceal permit and shooting lessons, if you so choose (I would). If all that sounds like too much …have a small base of trust with your life friends and family that know where you'll be and one day go on vacation (make sure you tell tons of people you are going (say…a cruise for a few weeks) and instead pack your bags and move.Furniture, homes, big items can be sold or gotten later….and really why care if town gossip, newspaper boy, grocery clerk misses you as long as the true friends/family of yours know how to keep in touch. Oh and they all say you fell in love with where ever you went on a cruise to and you stayed.Sound like something too crazy to work? Well what would a guy doing all that expect. They can all say…you were sick of him following you and were happy in the tropical home you found lol!Idk what his motives for following you are…but whatever you do keep safety on your mind and if you can put enough distance between you and him…maybe you can hope he finds easier or better supply and becomes focused on them.

Are there any devices that will warn me when I'm speeding while driving?

Any half decent GPS or satnav will warn you about your speed. I usually use the GPS and maps on my phone. It show my current speed and the speed limit of the road I am on. If I go over the limit, the number changes colour form green to orange to red. Also my phone’s GPS gives me an audible advance warning on the location of any speed cameras or red-light cameras.Fifteen years ago, I had a Citroen Picasso car. It had an overspeed warning device. It worked by you first drove at the maximum speed you wanted the device set to. Then you enabled it by pushing a button on one of the sticks and holding it for a few seconds. Now when driving, if you exceed the preset speed, you get a beeping warning.I never made use of the device since the device didn’t actually know the speed limit of the road. You could set the device to warn at 70 mph and then drive though a restricted speed area with a limit of 50 mph, without noticing the restriction, and a camera would ticket you. With the GPS system, it is updated with the latest road conditions and restrictions. So even if the speed limit has been changed, the GPS will still warn me.

Can you send texts in airplane mode?

Putting your phone into airplane mode turns off all its antennae - cellular, wifi, bluetooth, GPS.  At that point, you can't send or receive anything.  But modern phones usually let you turn wifi back on while in airplane mode - after all, many airplanes have wifi.If you're in airplane mode, but have a wifi connection, you can send non-SMS texts over the wifi connection, using iMessage on an iPhone or various other messaging apps (WhatsApp, etc.)  But you wouldn't be able to send a plain old SMS text to someone without the same apps.

22 years old. Never kissed a girl... (pic included)?

I'm a 22 year old college student, and I've not dated or kissed a girl thus far in life. I'm great at being conversational, and I find that I can easily make friends. My problem is that I become unbearably nervous and shy around women. It becomes so bad that my stomach tenses up and I can't eat food. I would literally have to throw my food up if I ate while nervous on a date.

And I haven't been very successful with the women that I have worked up the courage to talk to. All three have rejected me. I figure it's because I simply can't act like myself when I become so nervous. I keep putting the "p u s s y on the pedestal" as it were. I need some advice on how to stop becoming so nervous.

And as promised, here are some pics. I know that such a person is rare, and many of you must be dying to know what such a creature must look like.
