Which is easier Science or Commerce in class 11th and 12th?

Of course commerce. All those people in other answers saying that both are same are over generalizing it with more of philosophical way rather than reality. Like “nothing is easy or difficult, it is upto your interest”. All this is bullshit.Let me explain you everything in detail.Commerce is mostly generalised. I mean everything is fixed. There are many theoretical subjects. In science, you have practical application of everything. You need to have vast knowledge of concepts in order to solve physics numericals.Chemistry is pretty tough. Give any student 10 mins and give them any choice of commerce topic and give them any topic in physics and chemistry. I bet the person would not even understand what is wrote in physics/chemistry but will understand the topic of commerce easily. In commerce you don't have derivation like physics. Each chapter has minimum 10 derivation. The syllabus has 20 chapters per year. You will have to learn 200 derivations independently. It is not an easy task.Commerce doesn't have 100’s of chemical reactions which are independent of each other. Organic chemistry is damn tough. Same with inorganic. Plus physical chemistry is full with lengthy calculations. What about practicals?Science has practicals of every subject. Physics, Chemistry, Maths Biology and vocational subjects like CS, IT, EM etc. Maintaining the journals requires lots of time. You don't have much practicals in commerce.Entrance exam:Even a commerce student will agree that entrance exams in science are much more difficult. JEE and NEET are the toughest entrance in the world if not in the country. Plus you have whole 2 years of syllabus in the exam. It is damn vast. The syllabus is absolutely nuts. There is no doubt that commerce is very easy compare to science. Many people will say that this answer is wrong. This type of people are trying to defend their field, nothing else and over generalising.Science is a great field same with commerce. But the fact is not hidden that commerce is easy compare to science. Science field requires more effort but if you love what you do, no need to worry about it. You will succeed for sure. Don't hesitate to take science field, I am not frightening you all, but I am telling you that it requires a bit more effort. You can do it if you work hard.Best of luck.

I have done my +12 in commerce stream with math and I want to do BCA. What are the benefits of BCA degree & what will be approx 3 year fee for BCA ?

Yes, you can do BCA without mathematics. But somewhere it depends on low of related universities but generally what you compulsory need is English subject as second language in your higher secondary school. So if you have English in 11th and 12th then you can definitely go for BCA.Well many people will give you different suggestions but i will suggest you to prefer BCA. Yes BCA is a really good professional course.  After B,Com you will have same question what to do but if you have pretty good programming skill after BCA then you don't need to do any further master degree. You can beat any Computer Engineer in many good software and website development company with good salary. (Here good salary is relative word, e.g for me 40k is really good for me after BCA)So answer for your first question is Yes, you can do it without maths background. Now about scope after BCA. If you want to work after BCA then you can work for may small or medium scale software and website development company or your can introduce yourself as freelancer and you can be your own boss. You can work on your own time and you can accept work of your choice. If you have opportunities after BCA to join MCA then go for it, but choose college and universities wisely. It is really important if you want to work for giant and multinational corporation like IBM, Google, Yahoo, Sun Micro system etc. Yes, my many senior college mates are working with IBM, Yahoo and Microsoft. hence answer  is if you have extra ordinary coding skill after BCA/MCA then sky is the limit for you.

How much percentage is required in the 12th grade to get an admission in DU?

The University of Delhi is among the toughest university to secure a seat with ever increasing cut-offs. Now, for your question of how much you should secure will depend upon the following factors :Which college are you targeting? Now, there are colleges who will be open till 88% in the 9th list versus colleges who are immediately closed after first or maximum second list at a 97%. Top colleges in Delhi University are Shree Ram College of Commerce (SCRR), St. Stephens, Lady Shree Ram College, Hindu College, Hansraj College, Jesus and Marys College, Gargi College, etc.2. Which Course do you want to study?According to the last couple of years, Psychology (Hons), Economics ( Hons)and BCom (Hons) have been the hot favourite of the students and percentage has seen a sharp rise. The average cut off is around 95–96 % in the top colleges. Even English (Hons) is pretty high. On the other hand, the cut off for Hindi (Hons), Geography(Hons), History (Hons) Sanskrit, etc. are comparatively low. 80–88% is generally the cut-off.3. Are you aiming for an on Campus college?Generally, the cut off for on Campus ( North Campus & South Campus) and quite high. Kalindi College, Janki Devi, Deshbandhu, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Laxmi Bai College, etc. are few off-campus colleges and could be a relief for you. The cut off is generally around 90–91%.4. Are you changing your stream? If you are from Science stream and planning to take up a program from a different stream, be ready to face a high cut off. Colleges will either keep a high percentage for you, or they will deduct a few percentages from your best of four. 2–5 percentage is deducted.Don’t lose hope if you don’t have a 98% in your 10+2, target your dream course and try to find the alternative colleges in Delhi University itself. It is better to sacrifice a dream college, then jeoparding your course. All the best!

Who earns more: a science student or a commerce student? Why?

According to my biased view, I'll say a science student.Let's see why:If you take science your career opportunities are not restricted. You can do either Engineering, Doctor or Pure Sciences.Through which you could earn in the field of your specialisation, or you can finish an MBA and go into the business side of things. To prove my point, I'm attaching a pictureThis is a review by business insider, and as you can see in general a science student is getting paid more. People who take commerce in INDIA are at a greater disadvantage as they can't venture into science stream at all. On the other hand, you can do a CA and further even if you took Science in school! This might sound crazy, but I've seen people who finish engineering do CA. Over all, science student gets paid more than a commerce grad, simply because once you foray into the realm of science, it shapes you technically and helps you understand any subject from that point! Science stream is tougher when compared to Commerce, but at the end of all of it, you'll know you made the right decision!

I am a student of class 12 science and I want to do UPSC, so what should I do after class 12?

It is a very vague question. There is no one-size-fits-all solution in this regard. Here are some points to bear in mind while making a decision, though:Most UPSC aspirants with a science background prefer to have a science degree(B. Tech, B. SC or MBBS) as a backup lest they should fail to clear UPSC.After graduating in science, tech or medicine, the core branches of engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) and sciences(Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science) can be opted as optionals too. Very few do that, though. Most choose to play safe and opt a social science optional as it will also align with their prelims and mains prep.Alternatively, you can switch to commerce or arts after 12th(going to focus on arts here) and pursue a bachelor's in any social science discipline like History, Geography, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science to be prepped for mains, prelims and optional well ahead of time or simply, a bachelor's in any language like English, Hindi, Punjabi. Law is also another option. This year's AIR 1 Tina Dabi has had a Humanities background since 11th standard. She is a BA(H) Political Science from LSR. Previous year's AIR 1 Ira Singhal, this year's AIR 2 Athar Aamir, both had an engineering background, and of course, Roman Saini was a MBBS holder. So, you must decide according to your interests and financial condition. There is no hard and fast rule of succeeding in the UPSC exam. What matters most for UPSC prep is that youstay updated with the newsstart forming your own viewpoints on the news and pertinent social issuesdevelop answer writing, communication, and time management skillsare willing to put in your 100% efforts during the course of your preparation(which can get very taxing)don’t get demotivated and have a backup ready if you don't get through.

Should I opt for a CA with correspondence B.com or go for regular B.com from Delhi University (Hansraj, Hindu) and then do a CA?

I learnt as a child to never put all my eggs in one basket. Considering how tough it is getting to clear CA Finals, would you be fine if after 5-6 years you don't have a single degree to your name? If CA doesn't work out you can go for a MBA and still get a good life. Don't ever make the mistake of not holding a graduation degree. It is pretty risky. With all due respect I would say that your father is not the one who would be studying and he can't really assess your capability. I understand that he doesn't want your attention and focus to be divided but B.Com hardly takes any time if you are a CA student  as B.Com is more like a subset of CA. I know lots of people who successfully did B.Com, CA and CS as well as even CS is related to CA and people would have to dedicate only a few days for CS exams. I would strongly ask you to do a regular B.Com or any other Bachelor degree for that matter. Don't go after CA alone. Nothing takes as much time as CA and with CA you can do most courses pretty easily. Also CA exams barely clash with any other exams and even if they do it is unlikely that both exams are held on the same day and at the same hour. Even if you do complete your CA you would always ask yourself 'what if'. Don't lay the foundations for a doubtful life. It is you who can best assess yourself. If you are smart or hardworking you can even do 3-4 courses so a B.Com won't be tough at all.

Do colleges accept students who failed in 12th boards?

If that would have been possible than none of the students would have studied . It's like a game, you need to pass the current level to qualify for next level. General information for any college is that you need to be 12th pass. None of the college will accept you and question yourself that on what baeses a college will accept you? For normal college as well as for professional colleges every college wants the eligiblity criteria for the candidate to be 12th pass after all it's the questions of their reputation…no offence but there are no college in our country for 12th fail. You will be asked to reattempt the exam again in July until you don't pass 12th without that you will not be qualified for anything . There are only two options either reattempt or dropout. All the best..!!

I am a science stream student in class 12. I don't like it, but my math is pretty good. Should I change my stream to commerce during my under graduation as I am getting interested in the finance field and don't want to do engineering?

As every bird has wings to fly freely in the sky similarly u r also free to choose ur field according to ur own interests..In such a dilemma u should listen to ur heart. It is mostly observed that students r forced to do engineering by their parents in spite of their interests in other streams..surely u should join finance sector. But u should take any step according to the need of the hour. For better suggestions u may also consult ur corresponding teachers, faculties.U should express ur desires and discuss them with ur parents as it is a deciding factor for ur future...Do anything but with great determination & dedication .Everything looks impossible unless u try to achieve it.."Flap ur wings & fly anywhere in the sky"HaVe BeTtEr FuTuRe.....
