Trouble with choosing a major, I have no interest in anything?
You don't have to choose a major or a career right away. Take those basic courses in computer science and any other subject you're thinking about. Explore. You'll need courses in a variety of subjects to graduate anyway. A year of computer courses will be of value no matter what major or career you end up choosing, so it won't be wasted. Once you're past the basic courses, the more advanced ones in some subject might interest you. Try some of them out to see if you like them better. Your school likely has a careers office. See if they offer career aptitude or career planning tests. Those could help you find career ideas that you never thought of. If nothing ends up interesting you, then choose something you know you'll be okay doing (if not passionate about) for most of your waking hours for years to come. Maybe it's computer science, maybe financial planning, whatever. If you're torn because you're interested in things that don't seem to make good money, like social work or anthropology or art history, there are careers in every field that make money. Most social workers, for example, aren't paid much, but licensed clinical social workers earn good money and managers of social service agencies can often make big bucks. Or study whatever interests you without it being career prep, because most jobs don't require a specific degree - they just require a degree (and good grades).
I want to do a lot of things at the same time and I end up doing nothing. It makes me depressed.Help?
Doing lots of things at the same time is not only your problem , it's a problem of lot of youngsters.Before finding any solution we have to Know deeply regarding the problems.So the problems are:-Our wants are unlimited.We want every degree in our name plate.World is so competitive that we can't ignore any opportunities.We lacks in perfect future planning.We want to become both famous and successful at same time.If we discuss regarding this problem then we could discover it in every person,At the same point of time we want to be a :-A good corporate manA successful businessmanA star with lots of fans buzzing around.A cool boy with lots of girl around.A sportsperson with lots of success.A billionaireA brilliant student in classA good singer even we have worst tone.Even so many people try to be prime minister.Of course a good photographer, clicking random pics of everything with a DSLR.Ok , these are sounds good individually but all the qualities with single person, nahhh not possible ( may rajnikant could do it)Can you imagine PM modi in a musical concert singing the song “naadan parindey” no ! No! No ! I can't even imagine it.Can you imagine bill gates in American football team and striking the ball for a brilliant goal( not possible)So , we want to be successful in our life, but in a single field it is good to be in two or three but not all.You can only be a good dancer or a good singer. If you want to try both then you will end up as average. Yes I agree that there are certain exemption but they are exemption.There are certain thing which will help you :-A proper future planningMeasure your pure strength.List the things which are favorite of your or you want to do.Do a proper market study reading your list.Rank them accordinglyChoose a certain number of things which are necessary.Schedule for each thing accordingly.Remember life is a race and you have to run wisely.Live life king size.Thank you.
How do I choose engineering major?
"Always analyze on your interest and work for it, The success would follow your footstep". Don't give priority to college over your interest but the big deal is how to find my interest.Well,*Chemical engineering: - If you had a huge crush on chemistry go for it. As if you like chemical reactions and love the chemistry lab action so it means you are passionate about chemical branch and surely you will have a bright future.Electrical Engineering: -This needs a special talent - Of imagining abstract things purely explainable by mathematical equations. If you get excited about the idea of developing means to control dynamic processes and power supply grid go for electrical.Civil engineering: -If want to live your life more practical and experimental means having an interest in rigid body dynamics and passionate of the building go for it but don't think of placements and job before going in it as you can work as a freelancer or contractor if you love your passion.Mechanical engineering: - If you are good with imagination of 3D objects and have good logical thinking then mechanical is best for you. A very wide job opening as mechanical engineers is found in almost all sections of engineering. The scope of mechanical will be going far better in India in upcoming years.Computer engineering: - If you had taken cs in 11th and 12th then you are the best person in the world to tell whether you should opt for it .It contains the lot of practicals, computer languages, advance level programming and a great stamina to sit in front of computers for hours.From placement point of view, this is the evergreen branch where jobs are easy to get.At last, try to maintain good GPA in college this will help a lot in placement point of view.Hope it helps.
There are so many things I want to do, but I can't focus on just one long enough to make much progress. How do I finish what I've started?
This art, I am gonna tell you; is called channelizing.For an example, you are returning from movie and now need to go home.How to reach home?First person- He thinks, lets go home. We will reach. Don’t spend time thinking about it much.Second person- He channelize every work in his life & thinks in below manner :-First I need to go to area I parked my bike and find my bike.(I hope it has not been stolen by some bugger.)Then, I shall try to start it.(I hope I won’t face any mechanical issues while trying to start my bike.)Then I need start navigating towards my home.I shall keep it in mind to not go from road where traffic police might be checking.(Problem of irresponsible bikers)I need to make sure that I wear all necessary protective gears to make sure avoid any major injuries in case I meet with an accident.Once I reach home, I shall park my bike Safely.There is difference between first and second person. Second person gives considerable time to plan things and have backup plans ready. He know possible problems he may face in future and he is ready for that mentally & physically.Due to this awareness of second person, he shall be able to fight the odds in future and will also achieve desired result.This is the case with every work you do. Always Research about it and make neat & clear entry plans, exit plans, backup plans etc.Channelization makes the work very easy and then, even difficult task looks like a piece of cake.Coming to your point, nobody can tell you about your strong points. You gotta believe in you and if you are thinking to achieve something, you will have to achieve that by your hard work only.Channelize your work.I can’t tell you complete process. Its a long process. Im going into college, but i dont know what i want to be!?
When i sit and think about what i want to be, i come up with a billion choices, and it is really frustrating. I want to be everything in life and do it all. I know that really isnt possible, but how can i narrow down my choices on what i want to be in life.
At what age can a child choose whether or not they go to their other parents house?
Almost all atty will give phone consults and they are free. In MOST states you can have a say in it from 13 to 14, they lisetn to you alot at 15, and at 16 you pretty much do what you want, as long as you don't yo-yo back and forth.
