I Am Looking To Find A Neurologist That Would Listen To Me And Might Think Of Starting A Study

Should I study Psychology, Sociology or Neurology?

Neuroscience is on the verge of a revolution with neuroimaging in humans giving researchers new insights about the brain. So if you want to be part of this, that would be an advantage for neuroscience. Neuroscientists do talk about the difference between unconscious and conscious such as in vision, also in higher level functions such as cognition. Neuroimaging lets one look at that dichotomy in a way that one couldn't when all one could know was from just letting a subject talk.

The mechanics of these disciplines is different. Neuroscience involves experiments with tangible things. Psychology is somewhat more abstract. Sociology involves studying groups of people. I would think whichever style appeals to you would be the determing factor in your choice.

Why are Neurologist/Neurosurgeons so mean/unfriendly?

Maybe its just me.But iv been to my share of them and they seem like up happy to serious and strange.I went to one back when i was about 15 and he did the whole exam in literally 3 Min's.And he kept walking in and out the door. And he was very monotone. Then my mom saw one about a year ago.She had to have back surgery and he was a complete @$$hole.Extremely rude.I have herd story's of other people having the same experience with them.I don't expect them to be my best friend. But geez

I'm 17 and i think i have Vertigo, but i don't know where to start.?

For a long time now i have had this strange sensation of moving while sitting down or standing in place, Sometimes i don't notice it, Other times i feel like i'm on a roller coaster and it actually gives me panic attacks, The feeling gets worse when i am scared or sad, not sure why, maybe i notice it more when i'm like that.

I just recently did some research and found that all of my symptoms match "Vertigo" perfectly, up until now i've always just blamed it on dizzyness or never really paid attention to it, but i really want to get rid of it.

Where do i start though? I'm going to see a doctor soon, but i don't know what kind of questions i'll be asked, what kind of medication if any i might need, and what kind of test hes going to do on me to see if i have it, it has me somewhat worried.

That and i'm still on Kidcare (not fully sure what it is, i guess insurance for kids or something) and i went to see a doctor recently, but he was a child's doctor, so when i told him i felt dizzy, he interupted me and said it was probably my eyeglasses and said i was fine. Sort of brushed me off... That, and i've had this problem for as far back as i remeber, and i've changed eyeglass prescriptions many times in my life.

Thank you for any help or advice, i really don't know where to start...

Why am I so undecided in life? why can't I listen to my heart?

You're still in 11th grade so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Talk to people about areas you might be interested in studying. Think about it as much as you can, but don't feel like you are out of time already. Late high school is when a lot of people go through this crisis. I'm in my mid-20's, out of college, working, and I feel the same way. I don't know why I'm doing what I'm doing or what I can do about it.

Don't rush decisions. If you aren't sure what you want to do for college or in college, don't rush into it. If you feel rushed you will find mistakes are harder to reverse. I rushed into my area because I felt like you are feeling now. I felt like I needed to just pick something and go with it. Now here I am, and it's harder and harder to go back.

College is when a lot of people discover what they want to do. Don't panic now, you are in the same boat as a lot of people. Never shut out your options or make assumptions. Leave your options open: if you don't know where you want to go to school, apply to several in the US and Canada and if you can, visit them.

It's not too early to think long and hard about the future, but it is too early to start panicking about it.
