Also do all of the following to protect your privacy and identity - Go to Options > Mail Options > POP & Forwarding to make sure your emails are not all being forwarded to the hacker’s address. Normally the hacker will have your mail forwarded to his address - make sure the alternate email address is still yours and you have a security question and answer set - until you get your Contacts back find some other way to reach them - Facebook, twitter, text, etc -- to inform them that your account was hacked. They will be getting an email from the scammer claiming to be you needing to borrow money for some emergency - if you used your same username and password for ANY other site, you need to immediately change all of those accounts. Unfortunately 80% of people use the same username and password for everything. Hackers know this and once they know your email login they'll try those same details on Facebook, Paypal, Twitter, Linkedin, Amazon, EBay, every major bank and credit card company, etc to try and hack those accounts as well - if your emails contained ANY financial information (Paypal receipts, online banking statement, credit card bills, et) you need to IMMEDIATELY inform these institutions. You will have to freeze your bank and credit card accounts and get new account numbers and cards sent to you. Set up a new email address to change your Paypal account. These hackers will go through all of your emails to see if there is anything they can use to steal your money and identity - also consider filing a fraud alert with the credit bureaus -- read the FTC website http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/id... You didn't get an email recently that looked like it was from Yahoo asking you to verify or update your account, or that your account had exceeded its limits, or that there was suspcious activity did you? That was not from Yahoo, that was a phishing scam
What can cause a Yahoo account to stop receiving emails?
The yahoo account in question being closed/shut down/deleted.The email servers being down for a while.If an email is sent to an address, those two things are really the only two things that I can think of that would prevent the sent email from being delivered.As long as there is a valid address, if an email is sent, it will get delivered.

I have a Yahoo email account and I also have an outlook account. Outlook works perfectly always and Yahoo is a disaster no matter what computer or device I access it from. The best solution is to abandon Yahoo and open an account that works.

I noticed you had an email address in your account which your Yahoo emails were being sent to. I've removed that for you, so emails sent to your Yahoo Mail account will now arrive normally again! Unfortunately, emails forwarded away from your Yahoo Mail account are not able to be restored to your Yahoo Mail account. There is an all time big confusion on this due to yahoo policy.Anyhow currently Yahoo is accepting both user_name@yahoo.co.in and user_name@yahoo.com (mailto:user_name@yahoo.com) as userid for your yahoo account because basically it is considering just your user_name and ignores the domain while any user is trying to login but same is not the case for email exchange (which is big problem for users) ie yahoo is not accepting emails from both the email ids in the same inbox. Yahoo will accept email only from 1 (primary) email id in the inbox.It means that you can login to your yahoo account using any of the email id (@yahoo.com or @yahoo.co.in) as user id & your yahoo password.But you will receive email sent to your just one email id (which in your case is user_name@yahoo.co.in)Ideally speaking, either both the email id should be be treated as different yahoo accounts and should navigate to different inboxes or if they are treated as user id of same yahoo account then mails sent to both the email id should land in common inbox..Which is not happening and I think it is a big bug.No Doubt yahoo is on path of downfall.The dire consequences of this yahoo policy is that if you try to register for same user_name with Yahoo doamin, system will give error that user id already taken(which is taken by you only) but if anyone will send email on user_name@yahoo.com then you will not receive & he will get failure noticesOne of my relative was using 2 different yahoo accounts(and inboxes) with same id Eg x@yahoo.co.in and x@yahoo.com and then suddenly he could not access his yahoo[dot]com inbox becasue whenenver he tries login using yahoo[dot]com id, yahoo opens the yahoo[dot]co[dot}in account as it was primary account and he lost all his mails in yahoo[dot]com domain.So I will suggest to get the email id change in records and preferably get gmail/hotmail/or any other email id.I hope this helpedCheers !!
Delay in receiving yahoo mail?
The only answer I can give you "sst" is to try the BASIC version which is quite fast. Once you've gotten in it, though, you'd better place it in your «favorites». This way you can select either the full featured version or the Basic if the former won't send you the mails right away. If you do not know the procedure to enter BASIC, do this then : >go to gear top right→ select settings→select Viewing email→go down to the right and place the dot in the small box next to the word BASIC→go all the way down to the left and click SAVE. That's all. Now......I suggest you also place the regular version in the «favorites». Why? Because this way you can call for both versions and have them at the very top and switch from one to the other as you wish. This is what I do every time I go into Yahoo mail. Good luck!
