I Am Really Intrested In Playing Football. So I Would Like To Play In Football In Any Indian Club.

Why do our Indian football players not play for major football clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc.?

The simple explanation for that is due to the combination of having a weaker talent pool compare to Europe and South America as well as having to compete with European professional footballers.India is not a football country, it almost goes without saying, whatever football infrastructure and grassroots they currently have right now is still inadequate to become a strong football country. In other words, India’s level of football grassroots and infrastructure is still more than 50 years behind European and South American football countries. These European and South American countries all have hundreds of professional football clubs and football academies that are very active for more than 100 years in building the careers of many professional footballers. Bear in mind that, football development in both Europe and South America has been going on for more than a century until today. Allowing them to have the advantage of building better managers, having talented (and mentally fit) players and proper facilities for every kid to develop their footballing career. India does not have this. At best, about 1 in 100 million will have the benefit being expose to proper football grassroots and infrastructure in a handful of places in India. This then results with India having an extremely weak talent pool that is never going to cut out in playing outside the Indian subcontinent, let alone at European level. That being said, the current Indian players within the pool talent of India will not have both the mental and physical strength to compete with European and South American players, who have the benefit being exposed to high level training and football infrastructure since primary school years. 95% of football players in Europe all started their football training at 7 years old and have significant game experience under their belt by the time they are 18 years old. They probably have played more than 500 football matches before they reach 18. How many players from India can say they have that? close to zero. Even the best Indian player at 17 years old will likely be 6 years behind a typical European footballer. In summary, if Indian football players have not started their football training at 7 years old in a proper football academy, then it is almost impossible for them to have the skills and mental strength to compete with European footballers.

How did you get interested in football?

I was born in to a football crazy culture. My first memory of football is my dad 'playing football' with me when I was little under 3 years old. (The game mostly consisted of him gently kicking a ball towards me, and me running around squealing a lot). Ironically, I do not play any sports. But I do have superb parents!I remember listening to radio commentary of the local football league. (This was early 90s small town India. Cable television was for the extremely rich. Hell, television was for the rich). My mother and father supported rival teams in the local league, and I remember being asked to choose my team during a derby. I would go watch 'neighbourhood football' leagues with my dad. All these before I was 5 years old. So yeah, I was born in to football. But it was only in 2002 that I became a full fledged fan. Dad used to watch a lot of EPL that year (I think that was the year ESPN stopped broadcasting Seria A, and started with EPL). I would sit with him, the fascination rose, and the frenzy associated with the first Asian World Cup got to me. The skills of the playere and cohesion of the teams was something I had never witnessed before. I was hooked.

How does an Indian get to play football in the English Premier League, La Liga, or any other European league? Which clubs scout for players in foreign countries? What is the procedure for someone living in India? Or does one have to travel to a European country?

India is developing in football now our current FIFA ranking as of may 27 is 100there are many international clubs showing interest in India such as Liverpool, real Madrid and also if you are rich you can attend open trials in other countries here is a link of one http://www.premierfootballuk.com/other thing is our country does not need to be ranked under 70 for playing in epl there are players like dale eve who is from Bermuda which is ranked 185 currently and he played for stoke city. SO DON’T WORRYthe important points to make it to pro is your attitude while playing game, your stamina and determination, your team play and team work, and especially your confidence and also your techniquethe problem with Indians is stamina and technique you do not need to have all fancy tricks or super power in your legs to make it as pro, the things you need to and SURELY!! without even single mistake every time you do it are the basics touch and pass accuracy. Basics are chipping, long ball, crossing, shooting, dribbling and finishing. Although you should be able to do all these accurately also and if you are able to do these all don’t forget the touch because it is the most important while playing football. Arda Turan got selected for barca just because of his passing and his touch so they are important. The last thing is speed dribbling or carrying with speed by taking small touches like you should be able to go very fast and also keep the ball within 2 feet of you body with this you can cut of defenders easily and i am not speaking about normal speed it should be very fast like minimum 15 km/h speed. So this is it if you have all these wish you a good luck

I'm a 17-year-old Indian wanting to become a professional footballer. Should I go to Europe or get in any Indian football academy?

Firstly, you are 17 years old. You are too old to be taken into any academy in europe. You are now eligible for professional contract, hence you'd directly feature in U-19 squad.Secondly, BPL allows players from nations which have a ranking higher than 75 in FIFA rankings. India ranks 143rd. Also, UEFA uses a similar eligibility criteria. You should probably focus on Indian clubs and tournaments. Sunil Chhetri went to Sporting CP's second team for a year, and made only 3 appearances. He also went to US in Major League Soccer, but was soon back in India making 0 appearances. Sunil Chhetri is a noted Indian footballer with lots of experience, still he was unsuccessful abroad. This hints at the demanding nature of top clubs and also the lack of quality (we do not have top class coaching facilities) in Indian players. We need to up our quality to match the requirements of clubs abroad.PS : I'm not judging you or your playing ability. I have generalized the situation based on what I have seen in world football since 2003.

What's the event called when the cheerleaders play football against other cheerleaders and the football...?

Powder Puff
At my high school it always turned into the girls getting mad and beating the crap out of each other. The guys would stand back and throw eggs. Good times..... good times

I'm forced to play football?

So my mom and dad are pretty much forcing me to play football and I don't want to. I'm not that good and as strong as the other kids and I know I won't get any playing time. I'm a freshman and I've been playing for 7 years but I've lost interest but my dad wants me to play all of high school. Why do my parents force me to do this? All of my summer is gone and it's just boring and I'm not even good. What should I do?

How can we improve football in India?

The quality of Indian football can be improved only if the government invests heavily in infrastructure and sets up more football academies & clubs. If you would like to see Indian football improve then please cast your vote here: http://myidea.co.in/voteonidea.php?i=467&smo=yaspft
