I Am Really Pale. How Do I Get A Natural Tan

I want to be tan but am naturally snow white pale?

Its getting close to summer time!! Personally, I think natural tans are much cuter.
Go outside every day and lay in the sun for 20 min- half an hour. This way, depending on your skin type, you will build a gradual natural tan. You may burn the first or second time considering how light you are naturally but this is what i do. When you gradually build a tan like this it helps prevents peeling. ALSO, drink lots of water and keep your skin hydrated by applying a good moisturizer at night. I use gold bond ultra healing with aloe. My skin looks great.

Fake tans look odd.. especially in the blunt outside lighting. You can see how fake it is.
When i DO fake tan, I get a base tan first outside. That way i still have the rosy sun kissed look.. it makes the fake color look real.

How do I get my skin tan but make it look natural?

How can pale people easily tan?

In dermatology we use the Fitzpatrick Scale to classify skin tones:If you are a Fitzpatrick I “pale”, you can’t tan, or at least you’ll very rarely succeed to tan. Your skin burns because it does not have enough melanin to protect your skin. Melanin is a protective mechanism, to protect your skin from damage. If you have skin this pale, you might also have rosacea or redness, which will be worsened by tanning. If you are a Fitzpatrick II “pale”, you might tan a little bit more easily. I myself am a Fitzpatrick II, despite my visible skin tone being very pale, and I naturally get tanned after a long day under the sun (in Indonesia). I also get hyperpigmentation and sunspots easily. In any case, both skin types are very susceptible to skin cancer and I absolutely do not recommend tanning. I don’t think the risks are worth following a beauty trend. If you’re not worried about cancer; tanning also expedites skin aging. Fitzpatrick I skins are renowned to wrinkle more easily (because they lack the protective melanin and are exposed to the harmful UV radiation.) Fitzpatrick II skins can easily get sunspots and darkened acne scars or even melasma, if not protected against prolonged UV exposure.

Does Paul Walker have a natural tan? If not, What does he use?

Its natural as you can see his hair has lightened too, or he's been using sunbeds :)
I own a tanning shop so I hope I help!

Right, first you could get an at home tanning kit, like Fake Bake or St Tropez. Second you could go for a spray tan at a salon, either in a booth or having someone doing it for you. The sprays will cost a lot more than the kits in the long run as they last around 5 days.

edit: and get a better bronzer! Diors one is really good, I think its around £22 and you get a little brush with it in a velvet pouch, very nice!!
edit again : lol... with the exchange rate at the moment I'm guessing it would be around $45! :)

Can I tan if I have really fair skin, and I always burn?

My daughter is 15 and ridiculously fair skinned. My mom is German and Irish, she always hated that I could tan in two hours, but she would burn and then freckle. She'd get a base and that was the jest of it. I assumed my daughter took after my mom since I tan very easily and her dad is native American. However, this summer, she has committed herself to the pool almost every morning for 1-2 hours and after 2 weeks she actually has a nice tan. Tanning can take time and commitment, for some more than others. If you're fair you have to be more committed but not careless. Make sure you put sunscreen on your face and hands, wear sunglasses, and don't burn if you can help it. Burning is what leads to skin cancer, not tanning alone.

My parents are tan and im pale, did they really make me?

Well it's mostly DNA and genetics and stuff.

Look at your aunt/uncles/cousins and grandparents or even great grandparents,( relatives by blood). At least one of them should have your skin. Which means you are a homozygous recessive and your parents are heterozygous.

How do I get tan without damaging my pale skin if I burn really easily?

As someone who is also naturally fair-skinned, I would go with a tanning lotion. My favorite of all time (that didn’t smell weird or look orange) was the Banana Boat Summer Color in Light/Medium, but I believe it’s being discontinued, as the places I usually buy from haven’t been restocking it. It’s also really easy to layer so you can build up.A couple months ago I tried Loving Tan and I will never go back. I use the 2 Hour Express in Medium. Makes you look ridiculous for the 2 hours you have it on, but then you rinse it off and your skin is soft and glowing. It’s wonderful.I never thought I’d be a bottle-tan type of person, and the 2 Hour Express feels like an intense tanning experience, but I would highly recommend it. There are some great tutorials for it on YouTube and it’s worth every penny. There’s nothing better than going on a vacation or out in the sun, and feeling like you’re already “tan” - so slather on that sunscreen and just enjoy being outdoors!
