I Burned 300 Calories On Treadmill Is That Good

How can I burn 300 calories in 30 minutes on a treadmill?

Hi Dsadsa,

Burning 300 calories in 30 mins on a treadmill is possible, but it is a very intensive workout which you must have a good foundation in order to do so!

If you are targeting to lose weight, you do not need to burn 300 cal in 30 mins, that will make you exhausted at the end. If you keep your workout everyday or 3 days a week, it will be good enough to keep you fit.

Remember, warm up and cool down is extremely important, and if you seriously want to lose weight, you must do 20 mins warm up (let's say you walk at speed 2.5 - 3.0). The reason is because after 20 mins warm up, the exercise you carry on is the part that can help you burn fat, and now it is your choice to go for interval training or just jogging at higher speed. Remember after let say 10 mins running, you need to take 2 to 4 mins for cool down, so that you can slow down your heart rate which is good to your heart.

Of course, if you can run longer than 10 mins after 20 mins, it will be better as it will burn you more fat in that!

Hope this is useful! =)

How many calories should I burn on a treadmill every day to lose weight?

As the old saying goes: You can’t outrun a poor diet.So while exercise like walking/running on a treadmill is great, you want to combine that with a permanent change in your eating habits. (Not just going on a diet.)You probably already know your weaknesses or bad habits: portions, snacking, too many carbs, whatever. So figure out how to change them along with exercising. As a rough figure, I assume 100 calories a mile for running at a medium pace, say 10 or 12 minute miles.

If you burn 300 calories on a treadmill and eat 300 calories afterwards does that defeat the purpose of working out?

It leaves you at a ‘wash’ in terms of calories in vs. calories out…you’ll neither gain nor lose weight. BUT you asked about defeating the purpose of your workout. If your purpose was to lose weight, then yes…but a qualified yes.Having burned those 300 calories, it could, if done at an intense level, stimulate your metabolism so that you may burn more overall calories…so you’d be ahead of the game. Also, the purpose of working out is also to be healthier; you’ve worked your circulatory, respiratory, lymphatic system and will reap those benefits as well (which is a legit purpose for working out). There are MANY benefits from exercise that span beyond merely burning calories.I enjoy taking spin class for the social aspects, the music and being with a bunch of gals who are wearing snug outfits while we all get hot & sweaty to the beat of music. Those are the best calories you can burn! : )

Is burning 200 calories a day in a treadmill enough?

Enough for what? The amount of calories you burn is irrelevant. You telling me you burn 200 calories on a treadmill doesn't mean anything. You could burn 1000 calories on the treadmill a day and still not mean anything. What you need to find out is how many calories are you consuming in relation to how much you are burning. If you are eating a lot, especially a lot of carbs 200 calories is nothing. I know people that eat 7000 calories a day. If you only burn 200 on a treadmill this is nothing. Each gram of carb is 4 calories, the average person eats 300 grams a day. That means that 1200 calories are from carbs alone. Your body uses carbs as energy during the day, if you don't use all of the carbs you eat that day it turns into fat. Do you see now why the amount of calories you burn doesn't matter if you don't know how much you are consuming in the first place?First figure out what you are consuming so you can find out how much you will need to burn so you can reach your goal. Doing cardio alone without any idea of where you are standing is like trying to catch a fly in the dark. You just don't know where to start, never the less where you are going to end up.

If I eat 1000 calories and only burn 300 calories a day?

I wont lose weight? People say you need to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight. I eat 1000 calories and only burn 300 calories, well I burn 260 calories on the treadmill and I just add an extra 40 to that just for the breathing and showering and thing's like that. I don't leave my house so I don't walk much. I just jog and fast walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes a day and then do 100 crunches and lift weight for about 3 minutes.

Is it dangerous to burn a 1000 Calories a day on a treadmill?

Yes, walking on a treadmill always has some danger, but 1,000 calories is easily achievable if you work up to it, walk on a good quality machine with a resilient deck made for running, listen to your body, and use common sense. To burn 1,000 calories requires walking roughly 10 miles. Walking on a treadmill is somewhat less dangerous than hiking in the woods, but even so, you would need something like three months of continuous conditioning to get safely up to that level. But there’s also something else you need. Shoes. Lots of different kinds of shoes—preferably including hiking boots, running shoes, and some of the better made toe shoes (and socks). Why? Treadmills are flat. Every step is nearly identical to every other. You don’t just get blisters and callouses, you get a very specific type of callus from your toes rubbing each other in exactly the same spot on every step. The best solution I have found is to switch to toe shoes about two days out of every week. But unfortunately, very few toe shoes have the cushioning and support (arch and ankle) needed for safe endurance walking, so it’s a trade off. When I first set up my treadmill desk, I lost 45 pounds in six months. Then I hurt a tendon in my ankle and had to quit for 6 months. When I checked my records, I found that some days I had walked 20 miles. Unless you are 20 years old and in the army, don’t do that. And when my wife was in the army, a girl in her platoon snapped the ball off the end of her femur stepping down off the bus after a 20 mile hike with full pack. You can get seriously hurt, just walking, and treadmills account for a disproportionate number of home injuries, so use your noggin.Aside from conditioning, proper footwear, and listening when your body says, “enough,” make sure there is nothing behind the tread that will hurt you if you fall on it. Believe it or not, that is by far the number one source of serious treadmill injuries.

If you burn 500 calories on a treadmill, will that help losing weight?

Yes. If your weight was steady before you start, and you change nothing else about your diet and lifestyle other than adding the 500 calorie treadmill workouts to your daily routine, you can expect to lose about a pound per week. The preconditions that you’re starting from a stable weight and that you change nothing else will establish that, not including the effect of your workouts, your average daily calorie consumption is pretty close to matching your average daily calorie burn. The 500 calories from your workout put you into the calorie deficit required for weight loss. This will be true, though, only if you don’t sabotage yourself. There must be no rewards for “being good”! There must be no energy bars, energy drinks, shakes, etc. before, during or after your workouts. You don’t need them or their calories.

How far do I have to run to burn 300+ Calories?

Umm, I want to burn AT LEAST 300 calories a day, if not more. I'm not like super fat or anything but I want to be in really good shape. So how far would I have to run? Also, I wouldn't be at a gym, I'll be at home walking, running, jogging in my neighborhood. Also, for how long would I need to be doing that? In case it matters, I would be alternating between running, jogging, and walking (walking just long enough to catch my breath), in my neighborhood; in the morning, I'll just go up and down my street (my street is one big hill basically), and then, in the afternoon, all over my neighborhood, which is all hills for the most part. Also, how can I balance a good exercise routine once school starts? I'm home schooled, by the way. Also, how many calories should I eat a day if I want to lose about 20-30 pounds? I'm female and 13 years old if it matters. So, how far and for how long should I exercise, and how long of the time I walk should be jogging, and how long should be running?

Thanks, and sorry if this was kinda confusing. :/
