I Can Control My Dreams But Not All My Dreams When I Am A Sleep I Always Know That I Am Dreaming

Why do I always know when I'm dreaming?

Sometimes when people dream, they are aware of it. This is called Lucid Dreaming. Lucid dreaming happens when you enter the REM stage of sleep; the part of your sleep cycle where you have your dreams (REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement.). Lucid dreaming is where your conscious is aware of your sub conscious taking over during this period. So, to answer your question, the reason why you are aware of when you are dreaming is because you are simply lucid dreaming. This can be caused by ignoring your brain’s signals to see if you’re asleep or not, or if you briefly wake up during a dream, and a couple other things. My advice if you want it to stop is to take vitamin supplements with melatonin in them, go to bed early with an alarm that wakes you up at a later time if possible, and going to bed thinking happy thoughts or listening to calming, meditating sounds, such as ocean waves, forest bustling, or rain. Good luck!

I become aware im asleep when i'm dreaming, what does it mean?

something in the dream will make me suddenly know i'm sleeping, and then everyone in the dream will notice me panic and hold me down or sometimes i just wont be able to move the more i struggle, until i shake or scream myself awake, this dream is reoccurring, not always the same dream but always the same thing happening.

I can control my dreams,is this normal?

Not exactly control the dream, but I know when I am in it and I can control my actions and make something appear.
I do this every night.
It literally gets scary when I can't control my actions in my dreams,I always know I am dreaming.I had this dream once were I killed my dog,and I couldn't control anything and My mom says I was screaming in my bed.

But just earlier today I took a nap and I dreamed I was running outside to close the gate because I was scared of the outside, and my sister was helping me by taking a branch and closing it.I then realized like I always do that I'm dreaming,so I started to run into the street.I ran up this tall mossy flower covered hill, and I was sorta defying gravity by running up it because it went up 90 degrees.anyway I looked around and I saw my dads sculptures walking around (my dads sculptures are made out of buckets and rusty shovels) covered in moss.I also saw those radish creatures from spirited away walking down the street.
I decided to jump off the hill, just to see what it felt like to drop from that high, and I kept on falling and falling and falling.I started getting scared because I tried killing myself in dreams before and it never worked and I never woke up until my mom poured water on me.But then I hit the ground with force and I woke up on the ground,I must have rollen over and fallen.

I always dream like this,I know its called lucid dreaming, but I don't do anything to make it like this, and I often wake up off my bed, wrapped up in my sheets, screaming or hitting myself in the face.I'm scared that this might be dangerous, and I have been dreaming like this forever.
Is it Normal,am I just wierd?Or is something wrong with me?

(Btw I don't have any thoughts on killing my dog in normal life,It was just a horrible dream.)

I lucid dream very often and I can control my dreams. What does this mean?

It means you have a gift, I too can control my dreams but I came to my gift through a dark path, getting over nightmares taught me how.  In your case I hope this wasn't the way, but even if it is I treasure my dreams, and I hope that you do to.  All that being said I often find it better not to enforce control over them, they tend to work much better if I allow the dream to take me on its own ride...  Also it takes concentration to do, so sometimes the dream environment suffers if I take too much control from it, your experience may vary. Many of my dreams are things like alternate endings to movies, have them play out the way I would have preferred them, or extensions to fiction or TV shows, etc... I hope this helps and I wish you Good luck and many future... Sweet Dreams.

Can we control our dreams?

Well for me I can. But only when while I'm dreaming and I find out its a dream then I can control it. But most of the times when I'm sleeping I don't pay attention to whether or not that I'm dreaming. Hope that made sence to you.

I Can’t Control My lucid Dreams?

I know dreams often occur right before or as your body is waking up. I always have dreams right before I wake up in the morning. Maybe your problem isn't fighting to wake yourself up during lucid dreaming but it is another problem like light sleeping. Or perhaps noises in the night wake you up and the dreaming occurs as you are returning to consciousness. Either way I would try to see a sleep specialist to determine what the problem is because not getting adequate sleep can be harmful to your health.

What does it mean if I can control my dreams?

No it is a skill, that some can learn, called Lucid Dreaming but more than that dream control, I too know how to do as such, and you probably notice you get sleep as well as the dream... Personally I find it much more enjoyable for the dream to take me on its ride rather than messing with it at every turn, also if you are trying to control things try to take advantage of expectation, it takes a lot of concentration to "draw" things in with your eyes, for example, so say you want a towel when you walk out of the shower, reach for it, and grab one, if you need to concentrate some on the sense of touch, because adding it visually takes more concentration and the rest of the dream may suffer., its often why people don't see text or faces in dreams.... Also feel free to experiment.  Thermo-senses perhaps use very cold days (or very hot ones to essentially self-hypnotise) and imagine an ice cavern, then let the dream take you from there, on hot days maybe a lava cave or something.   Everyones brain "works" during a dream anyway, so it may not affect your health or nightly rejuvenation that sleeping would otherwise offer...Good Luck and I wish you many future... Sweet Dreams.

I knew I was in a dream but couldn't control it, why?

Ahh one of the most common problems people run into with dreams - control.Becoming lucid in your dream does not necessarily let you control your dream. This is where ‘conviction’ comes. It can be difficult sometimes to fully take control of you dream; I have a hard time doing it sometimes, too!The key is to expect what you want to happen to happen. Want it to rain? Look up and expect the cold, wet rain to start dripping on you. Want to meet Chris Evan? Turn around the corner and expect him to be standing them.It takes more than just “hey, do this” in a dream for you to make something happen.

Having dreams that im sleeping with my father?

i know it is gross..my father and i have a normal relationship and i love him normally...but sometimes i dream that he is going to have intercourse with me...and last night was the worst..because im still a virgin and i dreamt that we had sex and he took my virginity..the worst part is that i liked the sex..the dream was so detailed and i enjoyed it but then when i realised that im not a virgin any more and that my father took it i was so depressed and i hit the wall of reality...so what does that say aboyt my psychology??by the way i have a boy friend and we are deeply in love and we fool around a little bit...but it is a long distance relation ship so he is not around currently

People remember their dreams when the sleep cycle is interrupted, so isn't remembering dreams a sign of a poor nights sleep due to the incomplete sleep cycle?

This is very true for people who have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. When I was untreated and didn’t know that I had the diagnosis, I constantly had dreams. I would tell a colleague about the dreams and she mentioned, one day, that it doesn’t sound normal to dream so much and to remember all of them. I was also tired all of the time, despite sleeping a lot. I did research and, in the year 2000, OSA was not widely known and diagnoses were only beginning to occur. I underwent a sleep study and a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine was ordered. It was a miracle for me.I used to remember many of my dreams when I was younger and I enjoyed that. Now, I know I have had dreams while sleeping, but I barely remember them, unless something really stood out. I have lucid dreams, periodically, and become aware that I am dreaming and can control the course of the dream. It’s not unusual to remember dreams because we are awoken in the midst of the dream. The sleep cycle has 5 stages:Stage 1: Twilight Sleep. Just below being fully awake. Still somewhat aware of surroundings.Stage 2: A deeper version of Stage 1. No longer an awareness of surroundings.REM Stage: Rapid Eye Movement. This is when most dreaming occurs. There might be a few dreams in Stage 1 or 2, but this Stage is when dreaming occurs and the eyes move side to side, giving the stage its designation. Dreaming during this stage is restorative for the mind. During REM Stage, the body becomes paralyzed except for vital organs and men experience erections.Stage 3: Deeper Sleep with no dreaming. This stage is restorative to the body.Stage 4: Deepest Sleep, but as people age, they spend less time in this stage. Babies spend a tremendous amount of time in this stage. There is no dreaming in this stage, either.I believe people say that they don’t dream, ever, but I think they just don’t recall their dreams. I have theme dreams and when I have those, I do remember them. I also have always enjoyed interpreting and analyzing my dreams. You will learn much about yourself.Personally, I see the wakefulness/Alert periods of our lives as one life and dimension and sleep as another life and dimension. If you are constantly recalling dreams, and especially if any have to do with a sensation of drowning, then that is quite likely OSA. It’s dangerous and is fatal. OSA causes the heart to work much harder. You can stop breathing in your sleep.I hope this was helpful to you.
