My son does not want to go to his high school graduation. Is this disrespectful to the school?
No.But as someone who skipped graduation because it seemed meaningless to me—just a footnote on the way to college—I regretted it. My parents,who supported my decision, later said they regretted it. Yeah, it's boring, and if you are headed to college it doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment, but it's a social rite of passage, celebrating the completion of an important stage on the way to independent adulthood. In many ways it marks the end of childhood, a period in which other people tell you where you have to go and what you have to do. In that sense it's a significant event.I'm sorry I didn't walk across the stupid stage and go out afterwards with my parents for a nice dinner to celebrate.But no, the school doesn't give a shit if you attend that one ceremony, and you don't owe them anything. The ceremony is not what makes you a graduate; it's just for show. If you don't feel the desire to go. there's no reason you should have to.
What kind of awards do they give out at a grade 8 graduation?
im graduating this year, and i'm really curious about what awards they give out. i went to my brothers' grad and cousins' but i cant remember. all i can remember are -arts award, -athlete award and stuff. what are the others? ALSO for the arts award, is it only for art art. like drawing and visual arts, or is it combined with music and drama? because im the best at art in my class, not to brag, but i'm reallly good. and if it were based on that, i would probably win, but i suck at drama, and im good at music. and this other girl is amazing at drama and 2nd best at art. so would they be combined or seperate?

Does your high school make you buy a cap and gown for graduation?
My school does and they change the colors every year. Last year girls wore yellow and I think guys wore purple? An this year girls wore white and guys purple. I graduate in 2 years and from what I understand, the things are expensive and I hear your not allowed to walk with your class if you don' buy one. My dad thinks it stupid, both that they change it from year to year and that your required to buy them. I mean, you only wear them once and you order them at the beginning of the year and not everyone graduates. Like, 2 of my friends who were seniors dropped out because they didn't have enough credits to graduate. And what if someone can't afford a cap and gown? I don't think it would be right to have them not walk with their class just because hey don't have $200+ or whatever for a cap and gown.

Well, that's what my sister did and she just picked up her diploma in the front office a week after graduation. Call the front office of your school, they will tell your their policy.

I'm quoting this from Manocha Sir’s(Vajiram faculty Geography) classIf you have studied in IIT/IIM or Some other prestigious institution or Rank holder or If you hold many degrees and post-graduation etc, the interview panel's expectation from your side will be much higher than compared to an average candidate(Because before you enter, the panel might have read your DAF).So the standard of questions they throw towards you will be high, and if you are not able to manage it, you'll end up in getting a below average mark.And If you're studied from an average college and having 1st or second class only in degree, the panel's expectation from your side will be less and if you're able to perform well beyond their expectation you will be rewarded with more than average marks.So less marks in degree, less degree you hold means chances of getting better marks in interview.Note:Anyway if it isn't true, now you can't do anything to change your graduation marks. So leave all those thoughts and study well.Again some real life examples.My friend who was a district topper in 10th,state topper in 12th and IIT Delhi gold medalist in Mtech who got only 155 marks in 2015 interview(Alka sirohi board).
