Why are some liberals so condescending toward Trump supporters? Do they really feel they are superior?
They can’t believe anyone voted for someone who has spouted so much hate speech, who has so few coherent ideas, and whose tendencies seem too patently autocratic.It’s not about liberals feeling “superior”: it’s about us being morally aghast that you guys got behind a demi-man who called Mexicans “rapists” in his campaign announcement, has degraded women, attacked anyone who dares criticize him, waged a systematic war on the very free press whose constant attention to him probably factored in his victory, attacked a Gold Star family and compared his “sacrifices” as real-estate billionaire to those of the young and dead Muslim-American soldier Humayun Khan, who besmirched John McCain’s status as a war hero — when was Trump ever in Vietnam?, who wants to create a registry for Muslims (much as Hitler did for Jews — bad precedent), who has the zealous support of the KKK, who cozied up to Putin (whose government interfered in the election — in the country whose security the president is supposed to ensure), who has been nominating plutocrats and alt-right loons to very lofty and powerful positions, who promises to deport millions and break up families, to “build a Wall and make Mexico pay for it” (good luck), who will lead us into trade wars and likely encourage fiscal policy that will lead to another huge financial meltdown, calls climate change a hoax propagated by China (and therefore embraces destructive industries and deregulation, and has no agenda to help mitigate the first anthropogenic extinction in our planet’s history), etc., etc., etc.We are disappointed to think we live in a country in which our fellow citizens think that these things are presidential, that they befit the leader of the free world. We are horrified to think that America elected its own image, and that image is this. The man’s affronts to common decency and infantile vulnerability to any provocation should have disqualified him in the minds of all decent and sane people.So what the fuck happened? I am no great fan of Hillary’s. I don’t think Washington is functioning properly. But electing this wholly selfish, power-hungry golem to our highest office was not a wise alternative.It’s not so much about superiority. The feeling is “This is America in the twenty-first century! How could you?”

If there was EVER a time in America where Her CITIZENS NEEDED TO/When THEY MUST STAND-UP against those we elected, (or who crookedly got themselves elected!) - it is NOW! Every day that's allowed to pass, is ONE where MORE of OUR FREEDOMS are SNATCHED FROM US! Where OUR LIVES, & the Lives of ALL FUTURE GENERATIONS of Americans are DOOMED! Thus, I felt it was time I revisited one of my favorite author’s of ALL time, & his famous essay: “Civil Disobedience!” I think that EVERY AMERICAN should go read it, REALLY READ IT. Absorb It, & ALL of its underlying meanings, fears, DIRECTIVES… & DECIDE! OUR Country, OUR GOVERNMENT, is JUST THAT - OURS! & It’s way time for US to take it back! Whats a good way to remember the supreme court justices of the USA?
***ADDED TO*** This may not work if your test is soon, it will take some creativity- my children have a book called "Yo! Millard Fillmore" to help them remember the names ofthe presidents in the order they served. They use clever phrases and pictures that sort of flow together to help with memorization. They used the book "Yo! Sacremento" to learn the states and capitals, it is amazing how fast they learned them and how long it 'stuck' (as you usually forget them after the test) Some of them are funny and make little sense but they conjure up enough of a picture that it makes it stick, I cant believe how many of them I memorized without even trying after reading the book once- some examples for the states are : "there is a NUDE HAMPSTER riding the CONCORD" for Concord New Hampshire- there is a picture of this which really helps "the PROPHETS on the ISLAND MADE OF ROADS are DANCING- it is the ROAD ISLAND PROPHET DANCE" for providence road island- the picture of all the roads with prophets dancing around is funny and memorable- try rhyming words and pictures to help you remember them. Other than that the only thing I can recomend is to drill them, maybe read them onto tape and play it, some people are visual learners, some audio learners- if you remember what you hear better you might tape yourself reading them off and listen to them over and over- when you are reading htem say them out loud- read the same one out loud over 5 - 10 times then the next and next and so on - hearing, seeing and saying it will help to cement it into your memory. Keep drilling with them, write them on flash cards and post them around the room or even in the bathroom (sounds weird but a lot of people read in their bathroom and it can be a very good study place for some.) Okay here is another idea- take Dr Jacass (ugh! funny but , ugh! LOL) and then make a sentence with each name- example: D - David Souter - DAVID'S OUTER coat needs to be washed. R - Ruth Ginsberg - Ruth GAINS weight when she eats too many BURGers I am sure you can come up with clever sentences for the rest- - I will help you if you want to use this , just email me- I just dont want to think of all of them if oyu dont like it and it will be a waste of time
Hi what is Reaganomics? Is it a good word or bad? And what ever it is,does it have to do with it today?
It's quite similar to Bush economic policy. Funny enough both regimes had massive deficits, illegal foreign wars (with Bush's banned by United Nations and Reagan's by both US Congress and the UN) with high use of dubious right-wing mercenaries and military allies (Reagan allied to Saddam's Iraq and Noriega's Panama, while Bush allied the US closely with the Egyptian and Pakistani dictatorships), and both ended with massive bank bail-outs (GFC vs Savings and Loans debacle) The Regan policy featured big tax cuts for the top earners, market de-regulation, cuts to services such as education, and a massive military build-up (ie much like Bush's policies). So we are supposedly already living in the neocon wonderland, having had at least two 8-year doses of Reagonomics now since 1980. Reagonomics is good or bad depending on who you talk to, though, I've yet to hear a well argued (and data supported) argument that the policies worked to improve the economy (there were two recessions during the Reagan years). It's the same for much-touted "Pinochet's Economic Miracle" in Chile, under which unemployment skyrocketed from 3.3 to 11% in the first two years and the poverty rate rose to 45% of the population, not to mention the brutal state violence and social climate. Only a "miracle" for the wealthiest Chileans, and for multinationals who got access to cheap labor and resources. C'mon neocon lovers, you can do better! Prove me wrong :)

somone please help me! my sis has a fish and we came home from school and it has like this trailing stuff behind it but then it let go from her and they floated down...but then there are all these bubbles around the top of the bowl(it wont go away) and i dont wanna touch it.
