I Cant Understand The Proper Concept Of Spin Angular Momentum And Orbital Angular Momentum. Will

How do you find the quantum numbers for an atom?

The electrons of an atom have four different quantum numbers:

n = primary quantum number, which determines the energy of the electron. This can be any integer above 0.

l (that's small L) = azimuthal quantum number, which determines the shape of the electron orbit, and can have integral values from 0 to (n-1)

m = magnetic quantum number, which determines the orientation of the orbital, integral values from -l to +l (-L to +L)

s = spin quantum number, which determines whether it is clockwise (+1/2) or counterclockwise (-1/2).

You can determine quantum numbers using electron configuration (1s 2s 2p 3s 3p 4s 3d...) but it's easier with the periodic table. I'll demonstrate using the element sulfur.

n = the series (i.e. the horizontal location of the element). Sulfur is in the 3rd series; hence, n = 1, 2, 3

l = 0 to n-1. Hence, it can have values 0, 1, 2.

m = -l to +l. Hence, it can have values -2, -1, 0, 1, 2

s = +1/2 and -1/2

Could quantum physics explain paranormal activity?

Of course. Large scale "Quantum events "and space time fluctuations would look EXACTLY like what we call "Paranormal".-------Only the explanation would be different---not dependent on "Ghosts", "spirits" and the like, but rather quantum states, and entanglements and space and time. distortions.

This is an example of how we historically ascribe "superstitious" or "supernatural" explanations to phenomena and events that are due to aspects of science that we haven't discovered or do not understand YET.

300 years ago Electricity and lightning was "Supernatural"---we did not know about ELECTRICITY and electrons, so when something happened involving them, we called it "Supernatural" and the work of "spirits" or "Gods".

Now when we see things STILL beyond our Scientific understanding, we STILL evoke the "Ghost and spirit" explanations.---It has gotten to be almost a tradition for some phenomena as it has been going on for so long without a Scientific explanation.--- Fortunately these events are so rare, and not in your face like lightning, they can be and are IGNORED by those to whom the phenomena disturbs. All this despite the FACT that current Physics theories CAN "explain" the measurements and observations we still call "Paranormal" or "Supernatural".

"Quantum Physics" covers a rather wide range of theory, some variations will explain "paranormal" and others will not. Other Good Physics Theories include String and M Theories and HUT (Holographic Universe Theory), along with Much of Einstein's stuff.
Ironically, there seems to be a Physics "Catch 22" at work here too. The very events reported as "Paranormal" would serve to confirm the specific physics Theories as being on the right track, but at the same time most of the physicists will not accept the reality of the "paranormal" events.
All we gotta do now is quit ignoring, DROP the superstitions, and study this stuff for what it really is and might be---The rewards could be astounding.
